Interpretation of the Phenomenon of Nihilism in Research by Western Scholars
Nihilism is a philosophical concept that has been debated for centuries, and its interpretation has evolved over time. In this scientific article, we explore the phenomenon of nihilism and its interpretation by Western scholars. We examine the historical context of nihilism and the various interpretations of the concept by Western scholars. We also discuss the impact of nihilism on contemporary society and the implications for future research.
Our analysis reveals that nihilism has been interpreted in different ways by Western scholars, ranging from a rejection of traditional values and beliefs to a more radical rejection of all meaning and purpose in life. We find that nihilism has had a significant impact on contemporary society, particularly in the areas of politics, culture, and religion.
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of nihilism and its interpretation by Western scholars. We argue that a deeper understanding of nihilism is necessary to address its impact on contemporary society and to inform future research in this area. Our article contributes to the ongoing debate on nihilism and provides a valuable resource for scholars interested in this topic
Analysis of Factors Responsible for Gender Gap in the Appointment of Vice-Chancellors in Universities in Nigeria
The paper looked at gender gap in appointment of the Vice-Chancellors in Universities in Nigeria. The paper employed both primary and secondary data. The secondary data were collected from print sources and online publications. The paper concluded by identifying low female academic representation in the appointment of University Heads (Vice-Chancellors) in Nigerian Universities. The paper identified cultural factors, poor implementation of gender policy on appointment of universities administrators; political influence, few female in the academia, low interest in leadership positions and weak institutions as factors that has contributed to low representation of female academics being appointed as Vice-Chancellors in Nigerian Universities. Based on these findings, the paper recommended that government should ensure gender policies are implemented in all the Universities in Nigeria in terms of appointments and selection of academic leaders especially Vice-Chancellors. Institutions established for ensuring gender equity should be strengthened with legislations to carry out their functions. Government should use social media and other socially accepted media to enlighten the populace and where it is expedient, challenge discriminatory gender norms, patriarchal practices, beliefs, early marriage practices and stereotypes that curtail girl education and female educational attainment in Nigeria

This paper assessed the impact of subsidy removal on school administration, teacher’s job performance and students’ academic performance in secondary schools in FCT, Abuja. The paper concluded that subsidy removal in Nigeria have led to increment in operational cost of running schools, affected teachers job performance and students’ academic performance. Based on these findings, the paper recommended the following. Government should increase budgetary allocation to all secondary schools in FCT and in Nigeria at large. This will help school administrators to meet up with the operational running cost of running the schools. Government should provide school buses to all secondary schools in FCT and in Nigeria at large to aid teachers and students movement to schools. Parallel Descriptions of Ilokano and English Personal Pronouns: A Contrastive Analysis
Personal pronouns are among the simplest grammatical features of the English language; however, learners still struggle translating this language unit from Ilokano to English. This study thus examined the structure, meanings, and usage of personal pronouns in both Ilokano and English languages as well as the contrastive structure in these two languages. This study employed a qualitative research design using contrastive analysis. The data used was from a qualified informant who confirmed the categorization of personal pronouns obtained from credible sources. Results showed that the two languages vary in terms of function, form and distribution depending on their social and linguistic environment. Their use of the personal pronouns also indicates a difference in the formality of language where Ilokano uses plural form in a formal conversation while the English language remains definite despite its formality. This result implies a contribution in the development of contextualized linguistic materials for Ilokano personal pronouns
