    No full text
is a crucial section of any course, research paper, or scientific writing. It enables readers to understand the purpose, scope, and context of the topic. The same applies to the field of allergology and immunology, which is the study of the immune system and its interaction with the environment. Allergology and immunology is a dynamic and rapidly evolving discipline that diagnoses and treats various immune disorders such as asthma, allergies, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Understanding the science behind allergies and the human immune system is crucial in developing new treatments and therapies that can help manage and prevent these diseases. This essay examines the fundamental aspects of allergology and immunology, including the immune system, its responses to allergens, and the various diagnostic and therapeutic techniques used in the field

The Effect of Biologically Active Additives on the Human Body

    No full text
Dietary supplement is a biologically active supplement, an addition to food. Useful substances come with food, but it is difficult to compensate for all needs with products alone. With a chronic lack of vitamins, trace elements, macronutrients, biosorbents, micronutrients, homeostasis is disrupted, and with it the work of individual organs and systems. In addition, there are substances that the body cannot produce, but urgently needs them. Biologically active additives are a source of substances to make up for potential nutritional deficiencies. Supplementing your diet with dietary supplements, you can restore and maintain some body functions. According to scientific research, regular use of dietary supplements reduces the risk of developing deficiency conditions by 80%

The Risks of Stem Cell Transplantation for Thalassemia Patients

    No full text
The most prevalent monogenic hematologic illnesses worldwide are thalassemias. Unfortunately, thalassemia transplants make up a very small percentage of all transplants performed worldwide. Therefore, it is imperative that organisations such as the Worldwide Network for Blood and Marrow Transplantation collaborate in order to establish and sustain dedicated transfusion and transplant initiatives aimed at addressing thalassemia in nations where Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) has become a safer procedure and can be utilised to treat a broader spectrum of ailments due to advancements in transplantation techniques and supportive medical practises. However, it is still difficult to choose suitable transplant candidates. The identification of adult patients who may derive potential benefits from HCT necessitates the comprehensive evaluation of several patient and illness-related criteria. These considerations encompass the patient's overall health status, prior therapeutic interventions, age, presence of comorbidities, as well as the specific disease and its associated risk factors. A risk-benefit analysis should be used to decide which patients are eligible for transplants individually. Various assessment methods benefit the decision-making process, such as the disease risk index and patient-specific criteria like the HCT-specific comorbidity inde

Hematological and Biochemical Status in Norm and with LPS-Induced General Inflammation

The present study investigated the effects of E. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced mastitis model in rat on the activity of antioxidant enzyme systems under modified nucleosides/nucleotides administration. To achieve this purpose, E. coli LPS was injected intraperitoneally. The antioxidant activities of the enzymes, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase together with malondialdehyde (MDA) level were assayed in blood serum. Results obtained showed that, the antioxidant enzyme activities were significantly decreased while the level of MDA, the indicator of lipid peroxidation were significantly increased following intramammary inoculation of LPS compared to the control animals. The results indicated that E. coli LPS-induced mastitis could alter antioxidant enzymes and increase lipid peroxidation. &nbsp

    DEMENTIA

Dementia, a syndrome with many causes, affects >5 million people in the United States and results in a total annual health care cost between 157and157 and 215 billion. Dementia is de ned as an acquired deterioration in cognitive abilities that impairs the successful performance of activities of daily living. Episodic memory, the ability to recall events specific in time and place, is the cognitive unction most commonly lost; 10% o persons age >70 years and 20–40% o individuals age >85 years have clinically identifable memory loss. In addition to memory, dementia may erode other mental aculties, including language, visuospatial, praxis, calculation, judgment, and problem-solving abilities. Neuropsychiatric and social deficits also arise in many dementia syndromes, manifesting as depression, apathy, anxiety, hallucinations, delusions, agitation, insomnia, sleep disturbances, compulsions, or disinhibition. T e clinical course may be slowly progressive, as in Alzheimer’s disease (AD); static, as in anoxic encephalopathy; or may uctuate rom day to day or minute to minute, as in dementia with Lewy bodies. Most patients with AD, the most prevalent orm o dementia, begin with episodic memory impairment, although in other dementias, such as frontotemporal dementia, memory loss is not typically a presenting feature

    No full text
Purpose: Analysis of the results of treatment of paraproctitis and determination of optimal therapeutic measures that minimize postoperative complications in the acute period and chronicity of the process in the long term. Materials and methods: The basis of the clinical material was the data of medical records of 450 patients with acute paraproctitis treated in clinic No. 1 of the SamMU Department of Coloproctology for the period from 2019 to 2023. Results: During the study period, 450 patients with acute paraproctitis were treated in the department of coloproctology. 450 operations completed. Operational activity for five years was 100%. According to emergency indications, 450 surgical interventions were performed, which accounted for 30.5% of the total number of proctological operations. 450 patients were operated on for acute paraproctitis, which accounted for 15.9% of emergency operations and 30.5% of all operations for the current period in the department. Conclusion: The most common emergency pathology that required surgical intervention is acute paraproctitis, which mainly affects people of working age, among which men predominate. The main localization is the subcutaneous form of the process. Early visits accounted for a third of all cases, most of the patients were admitted to the hospital by referral from polyclinics
