Initiative and its relationship to self-determination among university students

Identifying the correlation between self-identification initiative among university students, according to the variables of gender and specialization.
In order to achieve the objectives of the research, a measure of initiation was built, which is based on the theory of Goldberg (1983), and the Deci & Ryan (2000) measure of self-determination was adopted. University students were chosen using the random stratified method with a proportional distribution, and data were collected and processed statistically. The research reached the following results:
v University students have an average degree of initiative.
v University students have a simple self-determination.
v There is a positive correlation between initiative and self-determination among university students.
Based on these results, a set of recommendations and proposals were presented
