A Survey on the Effect of Yoga Practices on the Psychological Variables of the Weight Lifters
No full textThe present study intends to assess the impact of yoga practices on the psychological variables of the weight lifters. For this purpose The researcher has selected a sample of 40 weight lifters from Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. Trier Personality Inventory there was a section containing 20 statements to assess the mental health. Mukta Rani Rastogi’s Self-Concept Questionnaire was used to assess the self concept. Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale is used to assess the self esteem. The selected three variables of The Participants were tested before the 12 weeks yoga practices and their score was noted. After the yoga session of 12 weeks again the same variables were tested again and their response was noted. The collected responses were tabulated and analyzed with the help of t test and Mean and SD in the SPSS 20version. It has been indicated that the yoga practices have significant effect on the selected psychological variables of the weight lifter

The Effect of Specific Exercises According to the Pulse Index on some Physical Abilities and Performance Level of Football Referees
No full textThe research aims to prepare exercises that suit the capabilities of the sample, as well as to identify the effect of these specific exercises on some of the physical abilities and performance level of second-class football referees. The researcher intended to use the experimental approach with one group, while the research sample was chosen intentionally, and they were a sample of second-class football referees in Baghdad, and their number reached twenty referees accredited to the Central Iraqi Football Federation for the 2023-2024 football season. The results resulted in significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests, in favor of the post-test, in the abilities under study and the level of performance, which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed specific exercises. The researcher recommends relying on specific exercises using plyometric training when developing the physical abilities of football referees
Evaluation of Lactoferrin, Thyroid Hormones and Some Elec-trolyte in Pregnant Women Infected with Toxoplasma Parasite Gondii
No full textThe current study was designed to detect and investigate infection with the Toxoplasma gondii parasite by detecting specific antibodies in pregnant women and evaluating the role of some biochemical indicators, including lactoferrin, thyroid hormones, and electrolyte , in infected pregnant women compared to uninfected pregnant women as a control group. 100 blood samples were collected from pregnant women infected with Toxoplasma gondii from some government hospitals and outpatient medical clinics in Kirkuk Governorate. The blood was collected and separated to take the serum and a rapid test was performed to detect IgM and IgG. The serums were distributed in 5 Ependorf tubes, and lactoferrin and hormones were measured. gland and minerals. The results of the rapid test showed 150 positive samples, 50%, which were divided into 130 samples that were positive for IgG, at a rate of 43.3%, while 20 samples appeared positive for IgM at a rate 6.6 % . Also the result showed a significant increase at (P 0.05) in ( LTF, TSH, T3 ,Iron ) level and a significant decrease in (T4, Ca) level in pregnant women infected with Toxoplasma parasite gondii compered with control group

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION OPTIMIZATION OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION FIRMS IN RIVERS STATE
No full textOrganizations are in the pursuit to increasing productivity in the maximization of its goals and objectives, thus it is partly tied to the efficient utilization of operational equipment. This study carefully examined maintenance options and how it contributed to production optimization in the four (4) road construction firms in Rivers State, Nigeria. The study adopted a correlational statistical tool to test hypotheses stated by means of questionnaires derived from two hundred and eighty five (285) sample size. Findings revealed that, there was a positive significant correlation on both predictor and criteria variables of the study at the least measure of 0.58 - 0.73 strong. Recommendations was advance that the production unit of the firm should at regular period effect cost efficiency measures through equipment maintenance structure; and the study was concluded as seeing maintenance as a reliable technique for ensuring and deriving optimal utile among studied firms
