Från kontoret till hemmakontoret : En kvalitativ studie om revisorers kunskapsdelning i en hybrid arbetsmodell

    No full text
Sharing knowledge is essential for auditing firms to maintain high-quality audits. This thesisdescribes knowledge sharing within two audit firms that offer office-based and remote work,in a so-called hybrid work model. The purpose of this thesis is to describe which approachesauditors use to share knowledge in the hybrid work model. The SECI-model, consisting of thephases socialization, externalization, combination and internalization, has been applied as atheory to understand the process of knowledge sharing. To examine this, eight semi-structuredinterviews have been conducted. The findings indicated that physical presence influences knowledge sharing from multipleperspectives. Junior auditors working remotely are more challenging to assist and shareknowledge with, while senior auditors working remotely are less engaged in mentoring newcolleagues. Digital tools are effective when it comes to quick and short questions, meanwhilemore complex questions are preferred to be addressed in the physical office environment. Theresults also highlighted that the documentation for auditors is comprehensive, makingknowledge sharing between colleagues crucial. “Learn by doing” is considered fundamentalfor auditors to develop professionally. Overall, the study concluded that knowledge sharing isalso influenced by organizational culture, the motivation to share knowledge, confidentialityrequirements and time pressure

    No full text
The aim of this degree project was to explore students’ and teachers’ views on using gamification as a pedagogical tool for teaching EFL within the Swedish school system and to see if these views differ or align with one another. This was achieved through the use of qualitative semi-structured interviews with three upper secondary school English teachers, pair interviews with four students attending an upper secondary school, as well as a digital questionnaire sent out to English teachers. The semi-structured interview explored the respondents’ knowledge of gamification, if they had used it, their experience of using it or their reasoning for not using it, as well as some general questions regarding the viability of using gamification to teach EFL. The pair interview explored the students’ perspective with questions about their background with gaming, if their teachers had used gamification, and what they believed to be the challenges and opportunities associated with learning through gamification. The questionnaire explored topics similar to those of the semi-structured interviews, but the questions were oriented toward being more quantitative than qualitative. The result of the study is that the selected teachers and students both believe that gamification is a suitable tool for teaching EFL within the Swedish school system. Students expressed that it would be fun and motivating to learn with gamification, but also that there were challenges with comparing to others and cheating. Teachers presented a similar line of thought, with an increase in motivation being the main benefit of using gamification. Their main issue with the method was a lack of resources.  An implication of this study is that teachers need training and resources on how to effectively implement gamification in order to help them use it effectively in their English language classrooms.

ATT HA EN NÄRSTÅENDE MED OBOTLIG CANCERSJUKDOM : En litteraturöversikt av anhörigas erfarenheter

    No full text
Resultat: Anhörigas erfarenheter resulterade i fyra områden. Background: Terminal cancer impacts both patients and their relatives. Relatives play a significant role in the life of the patient. Often, experiences and emotions of the relatives are overlooked. Since relatives are a major part of the affected person’s journey, their feelings and general well-being should be considered. Aim: The aim was to describe the experiences of being a relative to someone with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Method: A general literature review according to Friberg’s method was conducted. The analysis included twelve articles, eight were qualitative, three were quantitative and one was a mixed-methods study. Qualitative and quantitative approaches. Results: Relatives experiences resulted in four themes: emotional impact, living with hope, importance of knowledge and importance of time. Relatives reported experiencing varied and intense emotions. Hope was significant and crucial during the illness of their loved ones. Relatives reported a lack of knowledge in palliative care, as well as a lack of time to preparation for the death of their loved ones. Conclusion: Right conditions for relatives in form of information, support and care can help them experience greater connection and meaning. This allows them to have a meaningful time with their loved ones despite the challenges of terminal cancer.

Impact Of Gaussian Noise On Lora Training For Flux.1

    No full text
This thesis explores the impact of applying Gaussian noise to datasets on the training and performance of LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) models for image generation, focusing on the FLUX.1 dev model. The study aims to optimize LoRA training to enable resource-efficient fine-tuning, making advanced generative AI models more accessible for devices with limited computational power. With the rapid expansion of large-scale generative models, fine-tuning these systems has become increasingly resource-intensive. This research addresses the growing need for efficient fine-tuning strategies by systematically studying the effects of Gaussian noise during LoRA training. Experiments conducted with varying noise levels reveal that moderate noise improves generalization and accelerates learning while maintaining stylistic fidelity. Conversely, low noise levels promote detail preservation but lead to earlier overfitting, and high noise levels enhance generalization but destabilize training. The findings demonstrate that applying moderate Gaussian noise (e.g., variance of 2.5) balances adaptability and precision, reducing training steps and enabling broader generalization. These insights improve fine-tuning methodologies for emerging generative models like FLUX.1 and hold promise for democratizing access to AI technologies in low-resource environments

Probabilistic Analysis and Scheduling of Real-Time Systems

    No full text
In this thesis probabilistic methods are explored for analysis and scheduling of real-time systems, where computation times vary significantly. The aim is to enable sufficient timing-related performance while allowing for economic resource provisioning or other average-case objectives. In one line of research, Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) with continuous emission distributions are used to model execution times of periodic tasks. A framework for identification and validation of such models is presented. Methods are developed for updating model parameters in systems where the execution time behavior changes, and for bounding the deadline miss probability for such periodic tasks in a reservation based server. For scheduling parallel workload with varying computational demand, a mechanism is proposed for sharing a job queue among several reservation based servers. The mechanism guarantees executing jobs a certain amount of computational resource prior to their deadline, by enabling job dismissal in overload situations. Another contribution regards parallel synchronous tasks, and the problem of assigning a suitable number of cores to the task, so that the deadline is met while optimizing towards a goal such as minimizing energy consumption. A suitable core assignment is found using a Multi-Armed Bandit (MAB) formulation of the problem, requiring only limited knowledge of the worst case properties of the task structure. Using derived response time bounds in the MAB formulation reduces the time to convergence and the energy consumption

    No full text
Background: Knee osteoarthritis is a frequent degenerative joint condition that causes pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Physical therapy exercises and patient education are often used to manage symptoms. Integrating Behavioral Change Techniques (BCT) with these interventions may influence patient adherence and self-management. This review aimed to assess the potential effects of combining physical therapy exercise with BCT-based education on knee osteoarthritis patients. Aims: The purpose of the thesis is to describe the effects of Physical Therapy exercises and patient education through behavioural change techniques among patients suffering from knee OA and the behaviour change techniques employed in interventions in the included studies.  Methods: A systematic review of the impact of incorporating Physical Therapy exercises with patient education using Behavioural Change Techniques was conducted. The following databases were used in a systematic search for papers published between 2000 and 2023 in PubMed and CINAHL. The Cochrane risk of bias tool, CASP tool, and PEDro scale were used in the present review to evaluate the quality of the included articles. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were rigorously followed. The data synthesis included the details of the intervention, the characteristics of the participants, and the quality assessment.   Results: The systematic review of the literature showed that integrating physical therapy exercises with BCT-based education improved pain, physical function, and quality of life in patients with knee OA. Focusing on the findings, pain was reduced, and physical performance improved, with better results in the intervention groups as compared to the control groups. Specifically, neuromuscular training, cognitive behavioural therapy, and group rehabilitation were found to be most beneficial. The results indicated that incorporating BCT into Physical Therapy could have beneficial effects on the targeted outcomes, thus supporting the application of BCT in knee osteoarthritis treatment.   Conclusion: Based on the review, it was determined that the use of Behavioral Change Techniques together with Physical Therapy  exercises was beneficial in the relief of knee osteoarthritis pain, improving physical function, and quality of life. These findings thus suggested that BCT should be incorporated into conventional PT regimens to optimise the patients’ outcomes

The purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions and practices of reflective teaching and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) among pre-service English teachers in Uzbekistan. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 263 undergraduate students from four universities specializing in English language teacher education. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered online and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that while most students demonstrate a basic awareness of reflective practice and CPD, their engagement is often irregular and superficial. The most common reflective activities were self-assessment and peer discussions, whereas deeper methods such as learning journals and portfolios were less practiced. Key barriers included lack of time, insufficient training, low confidence in self-assessment, and limited institutional support. Nevertheless, participants acknowledged that reflective practice positively influences their professional growth, particularly when supported by digital tools and guided mentorship. The study concludes that for reflective practice to effectively contribute to teacher professional development, it should be integrated systematically into teacher education curricula. Structured reflection sessions, capacity-building programs, and the incorporation of digital tools are recommended to enhance sustainability and impact

The Formation Of The Fairy Tale Genre In German Folklore

    Get PDF
This article examines the formation of the fairy tale (Märchen) genre in German folklore, emphasizing its distinction from myths, legends, and fables through formulaic openings, abstract settings, and typical characters. The Spinnstube (spinning room) tradition, where women told stories during evening work, is highlighted as a key performance context shaping the compact style, rhythmic structure, and memorability of tales. The study traces how mythological figures such as water nymphs, kobolds, and dwarfs were reinterpreted into moral-didactic roles under Christian influence. It also discusses the Grimms’ editorial practices, showing how oral variants were standardized into literary texts, while still reflecting the voices of narrators like Dorothea Viehmann. Drawing on the works of J. Zipes, M. Tatar, and other scholars, the article demonstrates how German fairy tales represent a synthesis of oral performance, social context, and Romantic literary scholarshi

From Chagatai to German: Strategies for Rendering Babur’s Proverbs in H. Dalov’s Translation

    Get PDF
This article examines how proverbs and proverbial expressions in Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s Baburnama are rendered in H. Dalov’s translation (into German, with Uzbek source passages). The Baburnama is celebrated for its direct, unornamented style and its closeness to living speech, in which proverbs play a pivotal role. We outline why translating proverbs is among the most difficult tasks in translation studies, review classic approaches (e.g., A. V. Fedorov), and analyze Dalov’s concrete solutions. Using a qualitative, example-driven method, we group the book’s proverbs by theme (friendship/brotherhood, enmity and wrongdoing, practical wisdom, loyalty and trust, labor and discipline) and compare each with Dalov’s German renderings. We find that Dalov predominantly employs three strategies—functional equivalence, careful literal translation with stylistic smoothing, and adaptive reformulation—while preserving meaning and cultural color. Selected case studies (e.g., “Teng bo‘lmaguncha, to‘sh bo‘lmas”; “Die Tore einer Stadt kann man schließen, doch nie den Mund des Feindes”; “ko‘zlarini tuz tutti”; “Marg bo yoron sur ast”) show how proverbs intensify characterization, compress judgment, and anchor narrative stance. The discussion highlights best practices for proverb translation prioritizing function and discourse role, tracing intertextual Persian–Tajik sources, and using paratext where needed. We conclude that Dalov’s renderings are largely successful and that rigorous proverb analysis can both safeguard heritage and enhance cross-cultural readability
