    Cultural Aspects of Multilingual Communication

Today multilingual communication is increasing as the context of globalization and therefore, contact between different cultures is being practiced in non-western communities in political, business and art meetings. Culture as a critical part of multilingual communication performs several functions in community, has several categories according to different culturologists. The students of translation studies faculty must be aware of constituent parts of multilingual communication, its theoretical basis, basic terms and the role of intercultural competency in translation process. In this paper, cultural aspects of multilingual communication, its concepts and terms, types of culture are discussed. We also provide the definition of the terms of culturology that each Bachelor student of translation studies department must know

    Circular RNAs in Tumor Therapy

Contrary to the common belief that circRNAs are "mistakes" in RNA splicing, mammalian cells really contain a large number of highly conserved circRNAs. CircRNAs may produce miRNA inhibitors that are stable and potent. Nevertheless, many questions regarding the role of circRNAs remain to be resolved. First off, circular RNAs have the same ability to stop the spread of cancer as long noncoding RNAs. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a subclass of non-coding RNAs that lack poly (A) tails on either the 3′or 5′ends. Over 100,000 genes are known to encode circRNAs. Clinical data indicates that circRNAs, which exhibit variable expression in several disorders, including cancer, may serve a regulatory role in some conditions and diseases. Recent studies demonstrate that As an endogenous competitive RNA, circRNA can control the invasion, growth, and other physiological functions of tumor cells. Additionally, some circRNAs located in the nucleus can regulate the translation of the parent gene by binding to RNA polymerase II

Adverse Childhood Experiences Propel Adult Addiction

Despite the negative consequences, individuals with addiction persist in drug use, characterized by relapses and chronic brain disorders. Research has established a link between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and subsequent alcohol and drug problems. This study aimed to identify the influence of ACEs on the development of addiction in adulthood. A descriptive (retrospective) design was employed from August 1, 2023, to March 1, 2024, involving 142 male addict patients using convenience sampling. Data were collected via a questionnaire comprising sociodemographic information, the ACEs Questionnaire, and the Simple Screening Instrument for Alcohol and Other Drugs (SSI-AOD). Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for analysis. Results showed that 43.3% of patients had experienced some form of negative childhood experience, and 71.8% had moderate to severe alcohol and drug use. The findings suggest that ACEs significantly impact the development of addiction in adulthood, with participants exhibiting moderate levels of both substance use and adverse childhood experiences. Ethical considerations were adhered to, with approval from the University of Karbala and assurances of confidentiality for participants. This study highlights the critical role of ACEs in adult addiction, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions

The Extent of the Effect of Disclosing Research and Development Activities on Earnings Management

The research aims to identify voluntary disclosure of research and development (R&D) activities and the extent of its effect on earnings management. To achieve this goal, quantitative methods were used. In collecting data, the researchers depend on the financial statements published on the Iraqi Securities Commission website for a sample of companies, amounting to (4) samples, for the period (2013-2022). Voluntary disclosure of research and development activities was measured by research and development costs divided by sales. Earnings management is measured by Miller's model. The most important results reached are that there is a very low level of disclosure of research and development activities in companies (research sample). It is also noted that there is a large discrepancy in the levels of disclosure between companies and across the years (research sample), meaning that there are high levels in some observations, while there are low levels in other observations within a wide gap between the two levels. Also, it is noted that there are very high levels of earnings management according to Miller's model in companies (the research sample), and this level of earnings management varies from one company to another and from one observation to another, with great variation between those observations. It was also found that there is a positive relationship between the disclosure of research and development activities and earnings management, meaning that an increase in the level of disclosure of research and development activities will be accompanied by an increase in the level of earnings management practices in companies (research sample)

Data collection in this research used questionnaires and documentation with a total of 80 respondents who were customers of the GG Ie Loen by Defoma Restaurant. The results of this research show that there is a significant influence of service quality, product quality, and price perception on customer satisfaction, both simultaneously and partially. Based on the research results, although it has an influence, service quality is the weakest factor in influencing customer satisfaction compared to product quality and price perception. This shows that the quality of service provided by the restaurant still needs to be improved. Apart from that, GG Ie Loen by Defoma must continue to pay attention to the quality of food and drink raw materials so that they remain fresh so that they can provide good quality food and drink to customers. GG Ie Loen is also advised to maintain the prices of their food and drinks so that they remain affordable for customers
