The Department of Animal Production at the College of Agriculture / Al-Qasim Green University conducted this experiment in the poultry farm to examine the effects on a few physiological traits of broiler chickens of adding varying levels of Moringa oleifera leaf nano-alcoholic extract (MOLE) to drinking water. 180 unsexed one-day-old Ross broiler chicks were utilized. Four groups  were randomly assigned to them, 45 birds were used for each group, and each group was repeated three times (15 birds each replicate). The following were the experimental groups : the initial group (control), which involved not putting (MOLE) in the drinking water. The second group involved adding 10 milliliters (ml) of 0.02% level (MOLE) per liter of drinking water. The third group was the addition of a 10 ml/liter dose of a 0.04% level of (MOLE). The fourth group involved adding a 10 ml/liter dose of a 0.06% level of (MOLE). The following characteristics were examined in the experiment: hematological characteristics, including the number of red and white blood cells, packed cell volume, and hemoglobin level; biochemical characteristics, including all of the levels of glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, globin, albumin, and total protein; and immunological characteristics, the delayed hypersensitivity test in wattles, relative weight, and evidence of Fabricia's gland. The findings show that, when compared to the other research groups , the addition of (MOLE) at a level of 0.06%/liter of drinking water significantly improved all evaluated attributes (P≤0.05)

The Biochemical Changes in Parkinsonism-Dementia-Exploring Theamyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Complex: A Clinical Case Study and Implications for Diagnosis and Treatment

    Get PDF
The Parkinsonism-Dementia-Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (PD-ALS) complex, initially identified in Guam, poses diagnostic challenges due to its rarity. This study presents a clinical case to elucidate the nosological and pathogenetic implications of this neurodegenerative disease, particularly in populations where this association is unexpected. A patient of Iraqi origin manifested systemic symptoms evolving over 5 years, followed by cognitive alterations and subsequently developing gait disturbances and motor symptoms suggestive of parkinsonism with atypical features. Motor neuron disease signs were also observed, confirmed by extension studies revealing the involvement of both upper and lower motor neurons. A mutation in the POLG gene associated with mitochondrial depletion syndrome was identified. Diagnosing the PD-ALS complex remains clinically challenging, with molecular mechanisms yet to be fully understood. Common genes associated with parkinsonism and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis have been ruled out, and attempts to localize the locus have yielded inconclusive results. Unfortunately, the prognosis remains fatal, and there are no disease-modifying treatments available. This case underscores the importance of further research into this complex neurodegenerative disease and the need for improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. The association between parkinsonism-dementia and ALS is an infrequent entity and difficult to diagnose clinically for inexperienced doctors, for whom it represents a diagnostic challenge. Due to the unfavorable prognosis of the disease and the functional limitation it confers, many times, it is not possible to conclude the diagnosis or provide adequate follow-up. The importance of knowing the clinical data of motor neuron disease and the warning of Parkinsonism has made it possible to standardize the diagnostic conduct from the first evaluation

    Get PDF
The progression of industrial advancements has steadily incorporated data and intelligence to enhance effectiveness and productivity. Industry 4.0 innovations facilitated seamless data integration and communication across industrial setups, leading to intelligent factories characterized by self-management and continuous learning. Looking ahead, Industry 5.0 aims to foster AI integration and human-robot collaboration, promoting sustainable and personalized industrial frameworks. This paper explores the strategy of complementing existing Business Intelligence (BI) processes with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance gas production in an oil field in southern Oman. Current challenges include managing an undersaturated reservoir with limited data, leading to reactive approaches and suboptimal oil recovery. Our methodology leverages AI and BI tools like Microsoft Power BI and Python to automate gas detection using machine learning algorithms based on surface readings. Results demonstrate an accuracy rate of approximately 50% in predicting gas increases, with higher precision for wells with extended breakthrough times. This approach enhances operational efficiency, reduces human error, and supports proactive decision-making. Despite its simplicity, the model's potential for further research and refinement is significant, advocating for the widespread adoption of AI-driven solutions to optimize production and minimize environmental impact across various industries

Assessment Prevalence of Thrombocytopenia in Chronic Hepatitis B and C

    Get PDF
Thrombocytopenia is a common complication in chronic liver disease characterized by a low platelet count, which is lower than the normal platelet count < 150 X10 9. The condition had variable incidence, regarding viral hepatitis and is more common in hepatitis C than B. Aim of the study: Assess the prevalence of thrombocytopenia (lower than normal platelet count) in patients proved to have hepatitis B and C by RNA testing. Cross sectional study included 50 viral hepatitis patients (HCV and HBV diagnosed previously), all patients were evaluated for complete blood count and liver function test. Males were forming 68% of all participant, 58% were HBV patients and 42% were HCV patients. The overall prevalence of Thrombocytopenia was 46%. The mean platelet level in HCV was177.43 ± 18.19 with higher prevalence of thrombocytopenia (60.9% vs 39.1%) in hepatitis C than B, with no association between gender and liver functions. Thrombocytopenia one of common complications in viral hepatitis, despite that both HCV and HBV had lower platelet count in comparison to normal person, the count is much more lower in HCV patients with higher prevalence of thrombocytopenia in compare to HBV that is more common in male gender
