Uropathogenic or Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) and incisional surgical site infection (incisional SSI) are a worsening trouble among patients. Objective: Investigate the etiological bacterial agents in patients suffering from uropathogenic and incisional infection. Methods: The study specimens included a total of 52 specimens were gathered randomly from (males and females) patients, aged (1-80) years, in Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital in Al-Muthanna Governorate. 19 Midstream sample of urine &33 specimens were gathered aseptically from the incisional sites of patients doubtful to infect with SSIs after Surgery when patients were observation for symptoms and signs of SSIs during hospitalization. Urine sample and pus swabs were immediately brought to the medical microbiology laboratory for test. Results: The isolation rate of Gram-negative bacteria of uropathogenic isolates in this study was 11 (57.89%) greater than Gram-positive bacteria 8 (42.11%); but there is no a statistically significant difference between them. Whereas there is a statistical significant difference between the isolation rate of Gram-positive bacteria of incisional SSIs isolates in this study was 23 (69.697%) and Gram-negative bacteria 10 (30.303%) at p-value less than 0.05. Conclusions: these finding has clarified a major contribution of gram-negative bacterial isolates E. coli was the most dominant urinary tract infection pathogen among the study's participants, according to the study's findings. This could lead to lengthy hospital lodging, high recurrence and high health care costs. Whereas most predominant etiological agent of incisional SSIs was gram positive S. aureus &nbsp

The aim of this study to deal with (19) women were reviewed the center of obstetrics and Gynecology Al- Harthyia center with affected and non-affected of severe anemia with patients age between 20 to 39 years old. The patient's charts are started from 1st September 2021 to the 1st of August 2022. Severe anemia during this period associated with menorrhagia and eclampsia for affected women with different kinds of anemia like iron deficiency or thalassemia disease. The level of severe anemia for pregnant or non-pregnant that will absolutely between 4 – 11 g/dL. Anemia in pregnancy women with hemoglobin concentration 11 g/dL explained by world health organization (WHO). The project was associated with prevalence numbers of menorrhagia women were (12) from the total (19) women which constitute the percentage 63.16% as well with women eclampsia from 4 patients that constitute 21.05%

Cataracts remain the leading cause of blindness in our country and globally. Cataract surgery has a high success rate in improving visual acuity. Objective: This study aimed to analysis and assess clinical findings of Visual acuity before and after surgery for patients who underwent Cataract surgery. Patients and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 75 patients who participated in visual acuity assessments conducted in different hospitals in Iraq between 4 April 2022 and 19 August 2023. The study evaluated visual acuity before and after cataract surgery in patients aged between 50 and 70 years. Results: Our study found that males had a higher rate of cases with 60% than females with 40%, 45% of the patients developed by obesity; most comorbidity prevalence in the patients were posterior subcapsular opacity, which had 45 cases, operative time, min was 15-30 minutes per eye, postoperative days until follow-up was 22. 6 ± 8.42, cylindrical reading, dioptres were - 1.13 ± 0.94, spherical reading, dioptres were - 0.12 ± 3.68, no complications were 90.67%, while the most common complication in patients after surgery was posterior capsular tear and anterior capsular tear. In terms of visual acuity after surgery, Unaided was 0.24 ± 0.21, BCVA was 0.08 ± 0.19, Pinhole was 0.12 ± 0.14, and Best was 0.09 ± 0.14, Visual acuity variations include loss 6/9 < VA < 6/24 had 4 cases, 6/24 < VA < 6/60 had 2 cases, 6/60 < VA had only one case, while gain had 68 cases. Conclusion: The study revealed that following surgery, visual acuity exhibited a notable improvement in patients with lens opacity. This observation has prompted questions regarding the efficacy of a 20/60 level for acuity enhancement

Analysis Of Risk Factors For Hypoxic Damages Of Newborn`S Central Nervous System

    Get PDF
Currently, perinatal damage to the central nervous system of newborns occupies an important place in the structure of pathology of young children, which is associated with high prevalence, severity of clinical manifestations and the risk of disability formation. The purpose of our study was to determine the significance of risk factors for the development and to develop criteria for the severity of hypoxic-ischemic CNS damage in newborns. We examined 120 newborns with moderate to severe perinatal CNS damage. The examination consisted of the collection of maternal history, which included information on somatic and gynecological diseases, the course of this pregnancy, childbirth, general clinical examination methods, examination of a newborn with an assessment of somatic and neurological status. The results of the study showed that modifying risk factors for the development of moderate perinatal encephalopathy are the threat of miscarriage, toxicosis, the age of the mother over 35 years old, moderate anemia, acute upper respiratory tract infections, gynecological pathology, taking antifungal drugs, rapid and protracted childbirth, weak birth activity. We also found that the modifying risk factors for the development of severe perinatal encephalopathy are stillbirth, bad habits in the father, closely related marriage, obesity, chronic foci of infection, acute bacterial infectious diseases, urogenital infection, NSAIDs, rapid and protracted childbirth, chronic fetal hypoxia

A Framework for Patient-Centric Consent Management Using Blockchain Smart Contracts in Predictive Analysis for Healthcare Industry

    Get PDF
This paper explores the development and evaluation of a blockchain-powered consent management system designed to enhance patient autonomy and security in healthcare predictive analytics. By leveraging blockchain technology, the proposed system introduces a robust framework for managing patient consent in a transparent, immutable, and secure manner. The system architecture prioritizes patient privacy, incorporating a permissioned blockchain model, Proof-of-Authority consensus mechanism, and smart contracts with detailed consent logic. These elements facilitate a dynamic and user-centric approach to consent management, allowing patients to grant, revoke, or modify their consent in real time. A pilot study and simulated environment are proposed to evaluate the system's usability, security, and timeliness of consent updates. The anticipated outcomes suggest significant improvements in patient control over health data, compliance with regulatory standards, and auditability of consent actions. This research underscores the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize consent management in healthcare, promising a future where patient data is managed with unparalleled integrity and respect

Investigating the Importance of Technology in Teaching-Learning Writing Skill

    Get PDF
Writing is a constituent element of literacy. It is a daily practice that enables individuals to express their thoughts and emotions. The usage of technology improves writing skills in the classroom. Every day, new types of technology emerge, and educators must integrate these tools into the classroom. By integrating technology, instructors provide additional chances and ways to boost their students' ability to create more thorough and grammatically perfect essays. The current research represents an analysis of 20 studies that are interested in investigating the role and significance of technology in teaching the basic 'writing' skill of English. The study is based on studies conducted between 2015-2020. The literature review, therefore, begins from the latest study (i.e., published in 2020) up to the oldest one (i.e., published in 2015). The presence of technological tools may increase student motivation and engagement and allow them to revise and share their work with others. In addition, new technical instruments are redefining modern skills in writing. Finally, it is recommended that the implementation of technology in the education sector is important in order to enable educational institutions, teachers, and learners to benefit completely from keeping up with distance learning and the use of technology
