Correlation of Metabolic and Ionic Components of Follicular Fluid with Estrogen Concentration
This study was aimed to assess the correlation between the metabolic and ionic composition of ovarian follicular fluid and its relationship to the concentration of estrogen and prolactin hormones as the follicle size changes in the local female cows. Ovaries were collected (80 ovaries) from non- pregnant 40 adult females cow at Hilla slaughterhouse at Babil province. The gathered ovaries were transported to the laboratory within two hours. Follicular fluid was pulled from small (2-5 mm) follicles, medium (6-10 mm), and large (11-20 mm) follicles, then it stored at 5 ° C until assayed. Follicular fluid samples were analyzed for metabolites composition of (cholesterol, total protein, and glucose), and ionic composition (calcium, phosphorus, copper, magnesium, zinc) ,and hormone concentration ( estrogen and prolactin). The results of the study showed that the total protein and glucose concentrations were increased significantly(p> 05.0) with increased of follicle size. The study also showed the calcium, copper, and phosphorus concentration were increased significantly(p> 05.0) with changes of follicular size, as well as the estrogen concentration was significantly increased (p > 05.0) With increased follicular size. A significantly (p> 05.0) correlation was found between both magnesium, zinc ions, and estrogen hormone
Species Composition of Phytonemato Distributed in Lavender (Lavandula) Plant
The article provides information about the phytonematodes found in the soil around the roots of the lavender (Lavandula) plant grown in the lavender plantation belonging to "Khisor Forestry", Sariosia District, Surkhandarya Region. As a result of the research, 35 species of phytonematodes were identified. In lavender (Lavandula), a large number of phytonematodes accumulate in the soil layers around the roots compared to the roots. Phytonematodes fauna is found at a depth of 0-10 cm. Plant roots in the soil layers of 10-20 cm and 20-30 cm and root girth were noted to differ in each soil layer, with the highest number of species and individuals recorded in the 10-20 cm soil layer
Placentitis and Determination of Alpha-fetoprotein in the Serum of a Rats Infected with Experimental Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasma gondii is the cause of toxoplasmosis, which can be congenital or acquired. The parasite is an obligate intracellular protozoan It represents one of the most common parasites among population groups. It is thought because vertical transmission of a T. gondii infection from a woman having systemic infection to the fetus causes congenital toxoplasmosis (CT). According to age-adjusted statistics from a recent French study, approximately 31% of pregnant women have antibodies against T. gondii. The current study included the isolation of the T. gondii parasite from placenta samples of aborted women infected with Toxoplasma who visited Bint Al-Huda teaching hospital in Thi-Qar province of southern Iraq. After confirming the presence of the parasite stages in those samples, 0.3 ml of the parasite suspension was injected into the peritoneum of female white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The animals were divided into two groups, an uninfected group as a control group that was given Normal Slaine solution, and a second group infected with the toxoplasma parasite, rats were placed for mating, and after confirming pregnancy and determining the first day of pregnancy, they were killed by ether and explained in the last trimester of pregnancy for gross and histological examinations. In contrast with pregnant rats given via saline, toxoplasmosis led to Elevated alpha-fetoprotein in mother serum levels and placental inflammatory, high levels of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) were linked to adverse pregnancy results, that resulted in malformed and sometimes congenital fetuses. High (AFP) is associated with the occurrence of weak and deformed births. It was noted in our current study that placental inflammation resulting from toxoplasmosis may have led to high levels of alpha-fetoprotein in the mother’s serum. Our current study may be a model for other future studies to shed more light on the damage resulting from infection with the toxoplasmosis
Impact of the Air Temperature on Dust Storm in Middle and Southern Iraq
Dust storms (DS) are a part of the climatic phenomenon in most semi-arid regions worldwide. The environment of DS is characterized by the suspension and transport of fine particles of dust in the atmosphere. The association between air temperature (AT) and visibility was investigated. AT data came from the ERA-5, the fifth version of ECMWF, as hourly data for the Iraq region period (2008-2022). The second data came from the Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology, where visibility is available for most of Iraq for the same time cases. The results were shown for both cases through mid-DS, where visibility was (300m), and AT increased by more than 10 OKs, the opposite relationship between AT and visibility. Analyzed of DS point to the AT decreased before visibility by a quarter wave of DS, AT considered a significant function for DS genesis. The track of DS attacked Baghdad first, then transferred to Najaf and Nasiriya, which took two hours. DS became dispersions after decreased AT and clear visibility to declare the end of DS
Peptic Ulcer Incidence Among Pregnant Women in Baghdad
Peptic ulcers in pregnant women present a unique therapeutic challenge, necessitating a balance between effective treatment and fetal safety. Pregnant women with peptic ulcers may have Helicobacter pylori infection, increased stomach acid production, or NSAID usage. Symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and stomach discomfort are common. The treatment approach requires careful evaluation of the benefits and risks of available therapies. This study aims to investigate effective management strategies for peptic ulcers during pregnancy. Initial strategies include lifestyle modifications, such as avoiding trigger foods and eating smaller, more frequent meals. Antacids can provide temporary relief by neutralizing stomach acid but should be used under medical supervision due to potential risks associated with certain formulations during pregnancy. The study concludes that tailored treatment plans, considering both maternal and fetal health, are crucial for managing peptic ulcers in pregnant women
