The Effect of the KLOP Wheel Application in Family Planning Decision Making in the Practice of Midwife a Banjarbaru
The KLOP wheel in Indonesia, which stands for Circle Diagram and Application of Medical Feasibility in the Use of Contraception. The importance of the KLOP wheel as a screening tool before using contraception is because it can help decision making by taking into account the medical conditions or medical characteristics of the client. The use of KLOP aims to reduce medical barriers and increase access and quality of family planning services, because in clients with medical conditions or special characteristics, there are contraceptive methods that may worsen medical conditions or create health risks. Objective: To find out the effect of the KLOP Wheel application in family planning decision making in the practice of Midwife A Banjarbaru. Method: This research is quantitative research with an experimental design method (Quasi Experiment). The population is old family planning acceptors and new family planning acceptors, totaling 120 people and a sample of 30 people. Results: The most common type of birth control used before treatment was a combination injection, 9 people (30%). The most common type of birth control used after treatment was a combination injection, 13 people (46.6%). The relationship between the effect of the Roda KLOP application and family planning decision making was obtained by p-value (0.030). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the effect of the Roda KLOP application and family planning decision making, which is expected to facilitate family planning decision making according to medical conditions or medical characteristics. The ability and accuracy of officers in screening medical eligibility criteria is expected to improve the quality of contraceptive services
Role of Ivermectin and Colchicine in Treatment of COVID-19: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
Objective: To assess the effectiveness of ivermectin and colchicine as treatment options for COVID-19. Patients and methods: A three-arm randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted in triage clinic of family medicine department at Ain Shams University Hospitals on participants who had been diagnosed as COVID-19 patients with moderate severity. Patients aged <18 years or >65 years with any co-morbidities, pregnant or lactating female and with mild or severe COVID-19 confirmed cases were excluded. Randomization was done by using sealed envelopes for intervention or control. Patients are followed up to improvement of patient’s symptoms with no development of new symptoms over one month. Results: A total of 120 patients with COVID-19 were enrolled in the study, 40 patients in each arm. Their mean age was 40.16(SD 10.74) years. Out of them, 44 (36.6%) were male, 76(63.4%) were female. Mean duration of symptoms was 9.58 (SD 2.206), 9.9 (SD 2.07), and 9.53 (SD 2.37) in the ivermectin, colchicine and control groups, respectively. Most patients (67.5%, 70% and 72.5%) cured with residual symptoms with no difference in between the ivermectin, colchicine and control groups, respectively (P>0.05). Conclusion: Ivermectin and colchicine have no beneficial effect over the standard care in treatment of COVID-19
Response of Various Lettuce Varieties (Lactuta Sativa L.) to Fe Micro Fertilizer in Hydroponic Cultivation Systems
commodities will continue to increase in line with the increase in population. Micronutrients in plants play a very important role in plant production and productivity. Among the micronutrients found in plants is the nutrient element Iron (Fe). Iron (Fe) is a cofactor of around 140 enzymes which function to analyze biochemical reactions and is a very important element for plant growth. This research aims to design a technology package for cultivating lettuce plants through Integrated Plant Management (PTT). This research used a split plot design based on a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications consisting of two treatment factors. Namely the first factor as the main plot, namely: providing the type of nutrition (N) and the second factor as the sub-plot, namely: variety. The response of various lettuce varieties to various Mikto Fe fertilizer applications had a significant effect on plant height, leaf width, leaf length, number of leaves and root length. Red and Romaine lettuce varieties are lettuce varieties that respond positively to Micro Fe fertilizer treatment. The provision of various Fe micronutrients to various lettuce varieties had a significant effect on all observed parameters. EDDHA Single Fe micronutrient is the best Fe micronutrient. The interaction between lettuce varieties and Fe micronutrients did not provide much interaction with the observed parameters, only the root length parameter showed a real influence. The interaction of Romaine lettuce varieties with EDDHA Single Fe microorganisms tends to provide the best result
Morphometric Indicators of Spermatozoa in Rabbits of Different Ages
This article determines the influence of the animal’s age on the morphometric parameters of spermatozoa in sperm obtained from male rabbits. For this purpose, three groups were formed: the first group at one year of age; the second group is from 2 to 3 years of age; the third group is over 3 years old. From each group of rabbits, 5 smears were prepared and morphometric parameters of spermatozoa were determined, such as: head length; head width; neck-tail length; length of the entire body in micrometers (µm)
Enhancing Egg Quality in Molting Hens Through Dietary Manganese Supplementation
This study explores the application of a fasting program to enhance molting and vitality in Lohman brown hens, with a focus on the impact of dietary manganese on egg quality. Forced molting was induced in 120 hens, divided into five groups (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5), with manganese sulfate added to their feed at concentrations of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 mg/kg, respectively. The research aimed to determine the optimal manganese level for improving egg quality parameters such as eggshell relative weight, eggshell height, albumin index, yolk index, and the percentage of broken and abnormal eggs. The results showed significant improvements in all measured parameters in the manganese-supplemented groups compared to the control group, highlighting the beneficial effects of manganese on egg quality during the molting process. These findings suggest that incorporating manganese into the diet can effectively enhance egg production quality in molting hens, providing a practical approach for poultry management
