Iron Deficiency Anemia in Pregnant Women: Clinic Manifestation and Complication
Anemia during pregnancy. Anemia is understood as a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the blood. During pregnancy, the amount of fluid in a woman's body increases, and therefore the volume of circulating blood. Due to this, the blood "liquefies" and the proportion of hemoglobin in its total volume decreases. This is considered a normal phenomenon, and therefore the lower limit of the amount of hemoglobin during pregnancy is set at 110 g / l (with a norm for a non-pregnant woman of 120-140 g / l). But a further drop in hemoglobin levels is dangerous for the health and even the life of the expectant mother. The threat of termination of pregnancy, gestosis, lowering blood pressure, premature placental abruption, delayed fetal development and premature birth are the most common complications of anemia during pregnancy. During pregnancy, iron is consumed not only for the hematopoiesis of the mother, but also for the needs of the fetus. This consumption increases especially actively at 16-20 weeks, when the process of hematopoiesis in the fetus starts. By the end of pregnancy, iron reserves are depleted in any woman and it takes 2-3 years for their full recovery. So anemia during pregnancy is by no means a harmless condition. It has serious consequences for both the mother and the fetus

Preeclampsia (PE) is a womens multisystem disorder that is an important cause of maternal and perinatal deaths. Preeclampsia PE accounts for 4-8% of pregnancies worldwide and annually causes 45,000 maternal fatalities worldwide [1]. This multisystem inflammatory syndrome is defined as high blood pressure with proteinuria, thrombocytopenia, renal failure, liver dysfunction, pulmonary edema, and cerebral or visual symptoms after 20 -22 weeks of gestation . One-third of all Preeclampsia PE cases are accompanied by preterm birth, and its unification with fetal growth restriction and premature birth can often have lifelong effects on children, including a higher risk of cerebral palsy, delayed neurodevelopment, respiratory problems, high blood pressure, kidney dysfunction, and insulin resistance .Moreover, mothers with a history of Preeclampsia PE are at a higher risk of future hypertension and cardiovascular disease than mothers without PE in their pregnancies . Now, delivery is the only final treatment for Preeclampsia PE. Furthermore, this practice is usually accompanied by premature birth, which inevitably increases neonatal morbidities. Continuing research on the pathogenesis and causes of Preeclampsia PE has led to an interest in new drugs for the treatment or prevention of the disease

Based on the available data on the prevalence of a new coronavirus infection and knowing that other infections are severe and lead to a number of complications in pregnant women, it can be assumed that Covid-19 infection can occur in different ways, in different populations and ethnic groups also, in different territories of the same country
Early Complications of Acute Rhinosinusitis in Pediatric Practice
The acute form of rhinosinusitis is a common source of periorbital infection in young infants. We investigated the pediatric patients in an effort to identify the traits that are common among those who go on to develop subperiosteal orbital abscesses and require urgent surgery for acute orbital edema.
Methods: We reviewed 64 children younger than 18 years old in an observational retrospective cohort study. Radiography was used to make the diagnosis of periorbital abscess, and computed tomography was used to demonstrate that all of the patients also had sinusitis concurrently.
The patients had a mean age of 6.95 years, and 42 of them, or 65.63 percent, were male (the male-to-female ratio was 1.91). Thirty patients (46.88%) had surgical drainage, whereas the other thirty-four patients (53.13%), simply got antibiotic treatment. According to the results of a bivariate analysis, the variables that were linked with the development of an abscess were as follows: an age of 6 years or less (p = 0.023), proptosis (p = 0.012), fever (p 0.001), and a white blood cell count of more than 11,100 (p = 0.004). According to the findings of a multivariate study, fever and proptosis were two independent predictors that predicted the development of an abscess. Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus viridaus, and coagulase-negative staphylococci were the microorganisms that were cultured the most commonly in patients who had surgical drainage, and 29% of our patients had polymicrobial pus cultures.
Abscess development is the most significant determinant in determining whether or not an antibiotic therapy for periorbital infections associated to sinusitis will be successful in curing the infection. Patients who are experiencing fever in addition to proptosis have an increased risk of developing subperiosteal orbital abscesses
