Tax Compliance Behaviour and Revenue Generation in Nigeria
This research aims to investigate the nexus between tax compliance behavior and revenue generation in Nigeriafrom 1994 to 2022. The study investigates the level of compliance across different types of tax elements such as Value Added Tax (VAT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Education Cess (CED), and Professional Property Tax (PPT). Data was sourced from the Federal Inland Revenue Services and the Central Bank of Nigeria. Employing an ARDL Cointegrating model, the study reveals varying degrees of compliance based on coefficients and statistical significance. High compliance rates are observed in VAT, followed by CIT. PIT, CGT, and CED show lower levels of compliance, and PPT shows a lagged but positive relationship. The study concluded that the key factors influencing compliance include the complexity of the tax code, enforcement mechanisms, and societal attitudes toward each type of tax. VAT shows high compliance due to its simplicity and strong enforcement, while CIT compliance is influenced by audit likelihood and reputational risks. PIT has complex regulations, which may lead to lower compliance rates. CGT and CED may suffer from a lack of understanding and lower enforcement. PPT compliance varies significantly depending on local administration efficacy. The study recommends that the nature of compliance can be improved through simplification of tax codes, better enforcement, and public education campaigns. The study integrates insights from previous research and offers a comprehensive framework to understand tax compliance across different revenue streams
Ground Water Quality Assessment Using the Water Quality Index, Iraq
Water Quality Index (WQI) has been applying in the present study to assess suitability of groundwater quality for drinking purposes in Amara city, southern Iraq. This was carried out by subjecting twelve groundwater samples, collected from different sites to comprehensive physic-chemical analysis. Ten parameters have been considered for calculating the WQI such as; pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulphate and nitrate. The WQI values shows that 16.66% of water samples falls in good water categories and the others (83.66%) ranged from poor water to unsuitable for drinking purposes under normal conditions and further action for salinity control is required. The high value of WQI at this study has been found to be mainly due to the higher values of EC, TDS, SO4-2, Ca+2, Mg+2 and Cl- where it was found that there is a very high correlation coefficient between them
Measures for Treatment and Prevention of Mixed Infection of Colibacteriosis and Salmonelliosis in Lambs
In the article, as a result of vaccination of lambs with the vaccine “GOA-associated formol vaccine against colibacillosis and salmonellosis of calves, lambs and piglets”, the duration of immunity was established in experiments at 9-12 months. In the treatment of colibacillosis and salmonellosis in lambs, it was noted that due to the stabilization of the immune system due to gamma globulins in hyperimmune blood serum, the effectiveness exceeds 90 percent. The article also provides information about pathomorphological, hematological and biochemical changes in the body in the mixed form of these diseases.

Placentitis and Determination of Alpha-fetoprotein in the Serum of a Rats Infected with Experimental Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasma gondii is the cause of toxoplasmosis, which can be congenital or acquired. The parasite is an obligate intracellular protozoan It represents one of the most common parasites among population groups. It is thought because vertical transmission of a T. gondii infection from a woman having systemic infection to the fetus causes congenital toxoplasmosis (CT). According to age-adjusted statistics from a recent French study, approximately 31% of pregnant women have antibodies against T. gondii. The current study included the isolation of the T. gondii parasite from placenta samples of aborted women infected with Toxoplasma who visited Bint Al-Huda teaching hospital in Thi-Qar province of southern Iraq. After confirming the presence of the parasite stages in those samples, 0.3 ml of the parasite suspension was injected into the peritoneum of female white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The animals were divided into two groups, an uninfected group as a control group that was given Normal Slaine solution, and a second group infected with the toxoplasma parasite, rats were placed for mating, and after confirming pregnancy and determining the first day of pregnancy, they were killed by ether and explained in the last trimester of pregnancy for gross and histological examinations. In contrast with pregnant rats given via saline, toxoplasmosis led to Elevated alpha-fetoprotein in mother serum levels and placental inflammatory, high levels of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) were linked to adverse pregnancy results, that resulted in malformed and sometimes congenital fetuses. High (AFP) is associated with the occurrence of weak and deformed births. It was noted in our current study that placental inflammation resulting from toxoplasmosis may have led to high levels of alpha-fetoprotein in the mother’s serum. Our current study may be a model for other future studies to shed more light on the damage resulting from infection with the toxoplasmosis
Some Medicinal Plants and Their Ways of Using Them for Medication
Medical plants are defined as plants with medical advantages and characteristics capable of healing and treating the human and animal body from disease. Throughout history, medicinal plants have been utilized as a primary therapy for a wide range of disorders in diverse cultures. This is especially true in Africa and emerging nations, where 80% of the world's population still employs these plants in traditional medicine to cure a wide range of illnesses. Medical plants possess many biological properties that need to be detected, identified and documented for safe use and to guide others on how to use them, with some powerful medical plants having harmful side effects on humans and animals and sometimes potentially toxic to the destruction of body organs. Since the beginning of time, medicinal plants have been found and utilized in traditional medicine. Hundreds of chemical components of plants that may be exploited to control fungus, insects, and illnesses were synthesized by them. Numerous phytochemicals with demonstrated or possible bioactivity have been found, but the fact that a large number of diverse chemicals are owned by a plant has made the use of the plant completely ineffective and has hindered microscientific research aimed at establishing the efficacy and safety of these compounds by evaluating their activities in several plants
Optimizing Defoliation to Enhance Yield in Medium Fiber Cotton Varieties
This study investigates the growth and yield characteristics of S-8290 and S-6775 cotton varieties in the grassland soils of the Fergana region. Despite the extensive cultivation of these varieties, detailed comparative growth data under specific defoliation conditions are sparse. The research aims to fill this gap by evaluating plant height, leaf number, and bud development under two defoliation backgrounds. In S-8290, with 50-60% cotton opening, the plants averaged 92.7 cm in height, 33.3 leaves per stem, and 12.7 buds, with 55.5% opened and 1.6% half-opened. For S-6775, pre-defoliation plants were 96.3 cm tall with 36.0 leaves and 12.5 buds, of which 33.9% were opened and 2.5% half-opened. Under 50-60% defoliation, S-6775 plants averaged 96.8 cm in height, 36.8 leaves, and 12.3 buds, with 53.6% opened and 1.9% half-opened. These findings provide valuable insights into the optimal defoliation conditions to maximize yield and quality in these cotton varieties
