    Get PDF
Django is a web development framework that is both powerful and flexible, and it has become an essential component in developing modern web applications. This open-source Python framework is lauded for its pragmatic design, precise code, and extensive collection of built-in features that speed up the software development process. Django\u27s foundation is built on the "Don\u27t Repeat Yourself" (DRY) principle, which streamlines the development of complex web applications by reducing the required duplication. Its Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern enables a clear separation of concerns, simplifying both the process of creation and the maintenance of the system. Object-relational mapping, or ORM for short, is a mechanism that Django uses to simplify and streamline database interactions by doing away with the need to perform complicated SQL queries. This review attempt will serve as a jumping-off point for our Django journey. This study will help to get started with Django by offering an overview of the fundamental principles and processes to begin building web apps

Data Profiteering: Corporate Social Responsibility and Privacy Law Lost in Data Monetization and National Security

    Get PDF
Data mining and collecting is increasingly becoming a common practice, in the name of monetization of personal data, progression of national security measures, and politically fueled democratic interferences. Millions of users’ data is constantly being sorted, manipulated, and sold, often without conscientious consent of the consumer. While this practice can result in greater convenience from an innocent consumer level, the vulnerabilities to national privacy and the cyberspace create dangerous territory. The article entitled describes the triangulation of security, monetization, and politicizing in terms of data collection through three primary case studies: Cambridge Analytica and the Facebook scandal during the 2016 United States presidential election, Apple v. FBI, and Edward Snowden and the NSA surveillance activities. It explores how data harvesting and subsequent monetization is embedded in virtually every aspect of our culture and develops understanding of how corporate social responsibility calls for companies to respect and maintain transparency with consumer interests. Current technology policies leaves open spaces for violation both internally and internationally, and why this constitutes certain offensive measures. Future data and privacy legislation, with strong consideration to the varying social contexts, resources, and current international relations. This is done under the underlying assumption that data is an irreplaceable factor in our global progression and is irrevocably embedded into our society. Over-regulation or under-regulation of big tech may lead to negative repercussions to our security or individual privacy rights. These ideas are becoming increasingly understood by the general public and are considered worthy of concern after seeing glimpses of the depth of surveillance and information held by either the government or corporations. While there are intense emotions and opinions on the matter, my article takes an objective and well-rounded perspective to address the interlocking complexities of individual freedoms, need for international cyberspace protection, and continued profitability of data. The idea of personal data and information being manipulated and used against citizens for financial or political agendas is rightfully horrifying the public; my article therefore takes into account these concerns while suggesting further navigating the political, legal, and social process in alignment with the ever-growing power of big data

Institutional Leadership or Institutional Overreach? : Overriding the Parties’ Agreement for the Number of Arbitrators in Expedited Proceedings

    Get PDF
The institutions of international arbitration have played an increasingly active role in arbitral governance. The claim that they merely provide administrative services no longer holds water. With the ability to amend institutional rules, update practice guidelines, and revise institutional practices, they wield the power to efficiently effect change – a power that no other actor in international arbitration comes close to having. However, it has been said that in their quest to lead change, some institutions have overstepped their mandate and overreached their powers. Based on a variety of primary and secondary sources, this article examines the situations in which institutions have overridden the parties’ agreement for the number of arbitrators appointed in cases of expedited proceedings. Thereafter, it seeks to analyze whether institutions, in a bid to push progress have overstepped their authority. &nbsp

The scene of cloud computing has essentially changed throughout the most recent decade. Not just have more providers and administration contributions have barged in the space, yet additionally, cloud foundation that was generally restricted to single providers data centers is currently advancing. In this paper, we initially talk about the changing cloud foundation and consider the utilization of framework from numerous providers and the advantage of decentralizing computing ceaselessly from data centers. These patterns have brought about the requirement for a variety of new computing architectures that will be offered by future cloud framework. These models are predicted to affect certain areas, for example, connecting individuals and devices, data-intensive computing, the service space, and self-learning frameworks. At long last, we spread out a guide of difficulties that should be tended to for understanding the capability of cutting edge cloud frameworks. Architectural and metropolitan design ventures are continually breaking barriers of scale and unpredictability and consistently look for improved proficiency, maintainability, building energy performance, and cost-efficiency. Simulation and largescale information processing are presently the basic components of this cycle. Ongoing advances in calculations and computational force offer a way to address the complicated elements of a coordinated entire structure framework. Nonetheless, adaptability is a critical boundary to the acknowledgment of entire structure frameworks devices for configuration, control, and improvement. This position paper presents a bunch of strategies, for example, quick plan boundary space exploration, large-scope high accuracy simulation, and integrated multi-disciplinary improvement for semi-or completely automated projects. These procedures are very computing escalated, and have customarily just been accessible to the examination network. Be that as it may, once empowered by advances in cloud computing and high-performance computing, these procedures can encourage the intelligent plan measure bringing about improved results and decreased advancement process durations. &nbsp

Labor conflicts can be solved by an efficient collective bargaining system with consensus-based. Since the economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19, employers have been shut down or have had to reduce operations drastically and many employers want to furlough or dismiss employees under certain circumstances in China. Meanwhile, many workers have lost income. Since workers have gone back to the worksite in March 2020, labor unrest has spread out in order to ask for wage arrears in the manufactory, construction, and service sectors in terms of strikes map from China Labor Bulletin. The paper targets on three different countries with top economies, and examines its bargaining models to keep industrial peace. The paper argues that China bargaining model under state-control strongly depends on government intention for intervention where there is labor unrest, and the system less focuses on self-governance which may result in a hard time to maintain industrial resources, even though the state issued the related policies to highly encouraged companies to hold a negotiation before the lay off workers, reduce wages or work time in order to be employed. While fewer polices and China traditional command-and-control regulation models could not provide an efficient approach to relief labor unrest in the pandemic, Germany\u27s bargaining model is more flexible to provide an example for new governance and co-determination. Also, the bargaining model with sector-level reforms could do more for the United States private sectors in order to the corporation instead of adversarialism. From a comparison among three collective bargaining models, the paper concludes the approaches to protect workers’ rights from global perspectives

Minimum Wage in Readymade Garments Industry in Bangladesh

    Get PDF
Manufacturing Ready-Made Garment (RMG) is labour intensive and low wage based industry.  Nowhere, this industry was static or permanent basically on account of wage. As soon as any country became developed, the apparel and textile industry left that country. RMG is highly focused on the relocation of production. The relocation take place from high wage regions to low cost production regions just like water flows down-stream always. This single sector is dominating Bangladesh economy Since ‘80s. In Bangladesh different sectors have different wage levels according to the nature of job. The Minimum Wages Board recommended or re-recommended minimum wages of the 42 industrial sectors. The minimum wage of this very sector is lower than other sectors within the country and among the RMG manufacturing countries as well. On the contrary, within the country, for the same sector – RMG, there are dissimilarity in the minimum wage. Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) declares the same for the industries inside Export Processing Zones (EPZ) which is higher than the declaration by Minimum Wage Board for outside EPZ factories. Minimum wage board has classified the non-EPZ workforces into seven grades according to their skills with seven different wage levels. Contrary, EPZs workers are divided into five categories. BEPZA has fixed higher wages and benefits compere to non-EPZ factories. Moreover, the study finds that the grading system has many loopholes which is not based on well thought and planned. There are so many posts and positions required to run an RMG factory that are not mentioned in the gazette. There is no guideline on how to measure workers’ competency for a particular grade and for how long a worker will be retained in the same grade. These loopholes are helping the employers to manipulate in determining workers’ grade. Minimum wage structure is applicable for whose positions mentioned in the gazette and entitled to all types of benefits mentioned in the law including overtime (OT) payment at double rate of wage. To avoid extra overtime payment factory management promotes or changes the designations like executive, supervisor etc. who are getting comparatively higher wage to keep them away from OT benefits. All those anomalies need to be addressed for properly. &nbsp
