    Digital Technologies as Tools of Inclusion – A Study on Women-Owned Very Small Businesses

    The objective of this research is to find how very small business have benefitted from technological development that created the path for digital transformation across the globe. Demonetization and Covid 19 have affected very small businesses globally. The target population in this study are very small businesses owned by women or women-owned very small businesses (WOVSBs) and the field of research is the district of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal. The research employs mixed methods to track factors delaying digital adoption. The field visit took place between August 2024 and November 2024. This study finds that very small businesses are affected both by demonetization (2016) and Covid 19 because household income has fallen across the nation. However, the usage of digital payment system has increased due to government initiatives. Inspite of cash crunch, adopting digital payment system has helped very small business owners retain customers. The gap between education and digital competency has surfaced, underscoring the fact that digital literacy requires a different aptitude. This study suggests training of women with low education to maximize the advantages of digital payment systems which is a necessity at the moment

    Redefining Identity: Tradition, Modernity and Dress Reforms among the Bengali Women

    This research paper examines the transformation of elite Bengali (Bhadramahila) women who were confined in the innermost part of their houses (andarmahal) due to the societal customs like sati, child marriage, purdah, illiteracy, widow-marriage etc of nineteenth century. At that time, the confinement of women inside of their houses was symbolised their seclusion and the deprivation of education was inclined them to took care of their families only. However, the advent of social and educational reforms of nineteenth century was marked a transformation in the lives of women. They were came outsides of their houses for education and engaged them in variousreformative activities. With these, a profound change was perceived in the lifestyle and clothing of Hindu women but the Muslim gentry was indifferent about it due to their religious backwardness. Thus, the modernisation process was started among the Muslim in early twentieth century. So, the present paper has attempted to show that how the ‘reformed dress’was influenced the Bengali women in general and the Muslim women in particular at that timewhen they were indulged much in search of their identity and how they accepted such changes.The paper has also emphasised the comparative study about the reform of dress and modernity to both the segments of society

    Rahul Sankrityayan and His Contribution to Indian Buddhism: With Special Reference to the Teaching and Philosophy

    Rahul Sankrityayan's contributions to Indian Buddhism included historical investigation, textual analysis, translation, and distribution. Being a polyglot and a passionate traveller, he made difficult trips throughout Tibet, India, Nepal, and Central Asia to recover long-lost Buddhist texts, many of which were kept in monastic libraries. Written in Pali, Sanskrit, and Tibetan, these writings offered crucial insights into the development of Buddhism's doctrine and its historical dissemination throughout the Indian subcontinent and beyond. In addition to enhancing Buddhist studies in India, his attempts to bring these writings back to the country brought attention to the historical ties between India and its neighbours. Sankrityayan, a fervent supporter of social change and rationality, saw Buddhism as a progressive ideology that promoted ethics, equality, and reason. His works made Buddhist philosophy more widely available by exposing readers to its humanistic and scientific facets. In addition, his thorough translations and commentary on Buddhist texts gave academics reliable and thorough materials for researching early and Mahayana Buddhism. In addition to his scholarly accomplishments, Rahul Sankrityayan dedicated his life to reviving a tradition that significantly influenced Indian culture.     Social Skills in Learning Environments: A Comparative Analysis of Regular and Open Learning Higher Secondary Students

    Social skills are the abilities that help a person to successfully deal with and adjust to complex situations in their daily life. Social skills are needed to lead a happy and fulfilling social life. Through education, a person can acquire the essential competencies needed for a successful life. The study conducts a comparative analysis of the level of social skills among regular higher secondary students and open higher secondary students, collecting 250 samples from both groups, for 500 samples from Kozhikode district in Kerala. Additionally, the study examined the influence of gender on social skills. The study found that regular higher secondary students shows higher level of social skill than open higher secondary students do. Moreover, gender is a significant factor to influence the social skill. The study of social skills provides to understand students’ abilities, capacities and attitudes. In the current scenario, the study gives valuable insights to parents, school administrators, educational professionals, researchers and individuals

    Financial Literacy as A Catalyst for Digital Banking Adoption: Evidence From Rural And Urban Women

    This study evaluates how smart women are with their money as well as their knowledge, skills and experience with online banking. The paper analyses a study undertaken to understand the financial behaviour of the prospect. The study adopted the quantitative design method. For the current study, the primary data were collected from 300 respondents (150 rural and 150 urban women) using structured questionnaires. According to the findings, urban women had much higher financial literacy and digital financial transactions usage than women from rural areas. These are mainly due to better education, greater access to financial data, and better availability of smartphones and internet in cities. On the other hand, rural women face chronic longstanding issues like inaccessibility to adequate infrastructure, low-level of digital literacy, cultural restrictions and a lack of faith in the system. Further, three hypotheses were tested in the study using the statistical techniques. The tests' results showed that there are some large gaps and distance in the uptake of digital banking in rural as well as urban places. The resulting message is clear - overcoming gender and regional disparities in financial literacy and digital adoption will require purposeful policy, targeted training, better infrastructure, and gender-sensitive financial products

    This research paper investigates the financial soundness of Sun Pharma Ltd. and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., two major Indian pharmaceutical companies, by analyzing key cash flow ratios over the period from 2018-19 to 2022-23. The study focuses on five critical ratios: operating cash flow ratio, critical need cash coverage ratio, cash interest coverage ratio, cash flow margin ratio, and cash per share. Using t-test analysis, the research evaluates the statistical significance of differences in these ratios between the two companies. The findings provide a detailed assessment of the companies' short-term financial health and operational efficiency. This analysis offers valuable insights into their liquidity management practices, contributing to a deeper understanding of financial stability within the Indian pharmaceutical sector.

    Occupational Stress among the Women Police Officers in Southern India

    This study examines occupational stress among women police officers in Southern India, focusing on operational and organisational stress factors. Law enforcement is a highly stressful profession, and female officers, who often juggle societal and professional roles, are particularly susceptible to elevated stress levels. A cross-sectional survey involving 50 female police officers was conducted using a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire to assess perceived stress levels and its sources. The study reveals that 90% of participants reported high operational stress, while 80% experienced high organisational stress. The most significant stressors identified were staff shortages, bureaucratic red tape, excessive administrative duties, and difficulty maintaining physical health. The findings highlight the urgent need for addressing occupational stress as a public health issue, as it impacts both the well-being of officers and their professional efficiency. The study suggests implementing stress management programs, periodic health check-ups, and providing special considerations for female officers. These measures could significantly enhance officer health and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable police force

    Investment Behaviour and Decision Making Alternatives - A Study

    Behavioural finance, which integrates psychological and behavioural factors into investment decisions, contests conventional financial theories by analyzing investors' cognitive abilities and psychological phenomena. This research examines the investment behaviour of individual investors in Tiruchirappalli district city. The study aims to understand the impact of demographic and psychological characteristics on investment behaviour.  The high savings rate in India emphasizes the importance of individual investors, who often lack comprehension and perception of various financial products. The study uses personality traits and demographic information to analyze investor behaviour. The initial survey used a well-organized questionnaire to analyze the investment situation, knowledge, perception, and investments of individual investors in Tiruchirappalli district. The data were examined using SPSS 26, and the frequency of demographic factors, investors' perception of various investment alternatives, and also using AMOS 24. Investors tend to choose traditional assets as they are more secure and easily converted into cash. Individual preferences can effectively satisfy both consumers and service providers, enhancing investor risk appetite through heightened awareness.     The Power of Perceived Organisational Support in Shaping Organisational Commitment: The Mediating Roles of Self-Efficacy and Job Satisfaction

    Developing a culture of positivity and trust is fundamental in overcoming obstacles at work. A positive and credible work environment is primarily dependent on organizational support. Organizational support creates a work atmosphere where employees can flourish and have a part in the company's success. Given this, this study investigates the impact of perceived organizational support (POST) on organizational commitment (ORC) in the telecom industry in Chennai. A sample size of 470 employees was surveyed to understand the relationship between these variables. Stratified random sampling was implemented to single out the respondents. Top two companies in the telecom industry were focused for the study. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the data, examining the mediating roles of self-efficacy and job satisfaction in the relationship between POST and ORC. The study explores how POST influences employee outcomes such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment, highlighting the importance of organizational support in fostering a committed and productive workforce. The findings provide valuable insights into how perceived organizational support can indirectly enhance organizational commitment through its effects on self-efficacy and job satisfaction. This research offers both theoretical and practical implications for organizations in the telecom sector. It emphasizes the need for organizations to invest in creating supportive work environments to improve self efficacy, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The results of the study are relevant for practitioners aiming to improve organizational culture and enhance employee outcomes, particularly in service-driven industries like telecom
