Gamification in Marketing: Enhancing Participation, Interaction, and Retention in Saudi Telecoms
This study investigates the role of gamification in driving customer engagement, participation, and retention within the Saudi telecommunications sector. Grounded in Uses and Gratifications Theory (U&G), the research explores the direct impact of gamification elements—such as rewards, storytelling, and competition—on brand interaction and how interaction mediates the relationship between gamification and customer outcomes. Using a survey of 378 respondents, the study confirms that gamification significantly enhances brand interaction, which in turn fosters customer participation and retention. The results highlight the importance of interaction as a bridge, amplifying gamification’s effects by transforming passive consumers into active participants. Additionally, personalized gamification strategies are shown to strengthen customer loyalty, emphasizing the need for tailored designs to meet diverse user motivations. The findings provide valuable insights for integrating gamification into marketing strategies, particularly in competitive and digitally advanced markets like Saudi Arabia. By leveraging these strategies, companies in the telecommunications sector can enhance customer engagement, foster stronger relationships, and achieve sustainable competitive advantages
The Role of Digital Transformation in Enhancing Sustainable Innovation: The Mediating Effect of Digital Organizational Culture in Higher Education Institutions
This study examines the role of Digital Transformation (DT) in enhancing Sustainable Innovation (SI) within higher education institutions in Egypt, emphasizing the mediating effect of Digital Organizational Culture (DOC). Grounded in the Resource-Based View and socio-technical systems theory, the research conceptualizes DT as a multidimensional process involving technological adoption, process redesign, and strategic realignment. DOC is positioned as a strategic intangible resource that shapes how digital capabilities are translated into sustainability-oriented innovation outcomes. A quantitative research approach was employed, with data collected from 400 academic and administrative staff across public and private universities through a structured questionnaire. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypothesized relationships. The results reveal that DT has a significant positive impact on DOC and SI, while DOC itself strongly influences SI. Furthermore, mediation analysis confirms that DOC partially mediates the relationship between DT and SI, indicating that DT’s impact is substantially enhanced when supported by a strong digital culture. These findings underscore the intertwined nature of technology and culture in driving innovation that aligns with environmental, social, and economic sustainability goals. The study contributes to existing literature by integrating DT, DOC, and SI into a single empirical framework and by contextualizing the relationships within a developing country’s higher education sector. Practical recommendations are provided for policymakers, educational leaders, and technology providers to integrate cultural transformation with digital strategies for long-term sustainability impact
Exploring the Influence of Ecotourism Attitudes and Involvement on Behavioral Intentions
This study explores the relationships among eco-tourists’ attitudes, involvement, and behavioral intentions. Based on a review of relevant literature, two conceptual models were developed to examine the role of involvement: Model A investigates involvement as a mediating variable, while Model B examines it as a moderating variable. A structured questionnaire was administered, yielding 271 valid responses. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to test the hypothesized relationships. The results of Model A show that attitudes significantly influence both involvement and behavioral intentions, but involvement does not significantly affect behavioral intentions, indicating no mediating effect. In contrast, Model B reveals a significant interaction effect between attitude and involvement on behavioral intention, suggesting that involvement plays a moderating role. The overall model fit indices for both models meet recommended thresholds, supporting the robustness of the proposed models. These findings provide empirical support for the importance of tourist involvement in strengthening the relationship between ecotourism attitudes and behavioral intentions. Practical implications are discussed for ecotourism planners, marketers, and policymakers aiming to promote environmentally responsible travel behaviors through deeper engagement strategies
The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Organizational Agility in Saudi Banks: The Mediating Role of Knowledge Sharing
This study investigates the impact of transformational leadership on organizational agility in Saudi banks, emphasizing the mediating role of knowledge sharing. In the context of rapid digital transformation and Vision 2030, the ability of banks to remain agile is increasingly critical. Drawing from transformational leadership theory and knowledge management literature, a conceptual model was developed and tested using data collected from 378 employees across major Saudi banking institutions. Structural equation modeling (Smart PLS 4.0) was employed to examine the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that transformational leadership significantly and positively influences both knowledge sharing behavior and organizational agility. Moreover, knowledge sharing behavior was found to partially mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and agility, suggesting that the effect of leadership is transmitted not only through direct influence but also through fostering a collaborative and knowledge-driven environment. The results highlight the strategic importance of transformational leadership in promoting open communication, trust, and innovation—all of which contribute to enhanced agility. This research contributes theoretically by integrating leadership and knowledge-sharing constructs to explain agility and offers practical implications for managers seeking to enhance adaptability in the banking sector. The study concludes by offering recommendations for leadership development and knowledge-sharing strategies in line with the evolving demands of the financial industry in Saudi Arabia

Mitigating Precarity to Boost Engagement among Nigeria's Casual Telecommunication Workers? Investigating Employee Resilience and Organisational Support as Possible Factors
This study explores the role of employee resilience and perceived organisational support (POS) in promoting engagement among casual workers in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector—a key industry increasingly characterised by precarious employment and job insecurity. Grounded in the Conservation of Resources (COR) and Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) theories, the research adopts a positivist paradigm and employs a quantitative cross-sectional design. Data were collected from 487 casual employees across major Nigerian cities and analysed using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM). The findings reveal that POS has a significant positive effect on employee engagement, while resilience does not directly predict either engagement or POS. Moreover, POS does not mediate the relationship between resilience and engagement. These results suggest that while personal attributes such as resilience are valuable, organisational factors—particularly perceived support—play a more decisive role in sustaining engagement within insecure work environments. The study contributes to the limited body of research on casual labour in developing economies and underscores the importance of supportive HR practices, inclusive organisational cultures, and policy reforms aimed at improving the well-being and engagement of precarious workers in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry
The Integration of Fiqh Nationality in Islamic Television Journalism: An Analysis of Editorial Practices at TVMu in Promoting National Unity
This study explores the application of Fiqh Nationality in the editorial practices of Televisi Muhammadiyah (TVMu), an Islamic television channel in Indonesia, which functions as both a religious and ideological media outlet. Situated within Indonesia’s multicultural society, this research aims to analyze how national values are incorporated into the editorial decision-making processes at TVMu. Using a qualitative approach, this study employed in-depth interviews with key editorial staff to examine the integration of religious and national values in producing news and television programs. The findings demonstrate that TVMu consistently integrates the principles of Fiqh Nationality in its editorial decisions, crafting narratives that promote national unity, religious tolerance, and community participation. The editorial team faces challenges in balancing Islamic teachings with the complexities of Indonesia’s socio-political landscape, particularly in addressing issues such as pluralism and nationalism. However, the study reveals that through careful framing of content, TVMu can harmonize religious values with national identity, thus contributing to social cohesion and stability. This research highlights the need to develop ethical guidelines to ensure the responsible application of Fiqh Nationality in Islamic media. It also provides valuable insights for media managers on strengthening Islamic journalism’s role in fostering a sense of national unity. By offering theoretical and practical contributions, this study advances the academic discourse on Islamic journalism and its intersection with national identity in a multicultural setting
