    Get PDF
This study emphasizes the value of innovation in improving performance by examining the relationship between organizational performance, innovation, and Total Quality Management (TQM) in Jordanian industrial small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We selected the 381 prospective respondents, including managers, engineers, and technicians who make decisions, from the sampling framework using the standard random sampling technique. The study provided the self-managed questionnaires to the selected respondents, who replied within the allotted period. We obtained 344 valid answers after a few weeks. This study used the Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) method, as the model under examination was derived from established theories from previous studies. The study utilized IBM-SPSS-AMOS 25.0 to construct and assess hypotheses. Additionally, we examined the fitness, reliability, and validity of the constructs using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The findings suggest that all constructs demonstrated excellent fit, reliability, and validity, supporting their suitability for further analysis. The results showed that total quality management practices have a statistically significant effect on both the mediating role (innovation) and the performance of the organization when the mediator is present. The results showed that the mediating role (innovation) has a statistically significant impact on organizational performance in institutions. The impact of total quality management methods on organizational performance was not statistically significant

    Get PDF
Financial technology (FinTech) has revolutionized the banking sector, transforming traditional financial transactions through digital platforms. This study investigates the key factors influencing FinTech adoption among banking customers in Nepal, focusing on financial literacy, government support, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and user innovativeness. Additionally, the study examines the mediating role of user innovativeness in the relationship between financial literacy, government support, and FinTech adoption. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 208 banking customers using a structured questionnaire. PLS-SEM was utilized for analysis. The findings reveal that financial literacy and government support do not have a direct influence on FinTech adoption. However, when mediated by user innovativeness, their indirect effect becomes significant. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness exhibit a strong positive relationship with FinTech adoption, highlighting the importance of user-friendly platforms and clear functional benefits. The study’s findings have significant implications for financial institutions, policymakers, and technology developers. While financial literacy and government support alone may not drive adoption, they contribute indirectly by fostering user innovativeness. This underscores the need for strategies that encourage digital adaptability and openness to technology. Future research should explore FinTech adoption across various industries, assess long-term behavioral changes, and examine regional differences in adoption patterns. By understanding these determinants, stakeholders can develop targeted strategies to enhance digital financial inclusion and promote sustainable FinTech growth

    Get PDF
This research delved into the dynamics of tax compliance among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria, focusing on the influence of tax morale. The study examined key dimensions of tax morale, including religious beliefs; trust in governance, income levels, financial literacy, and educational attainment. Adopting a descriptive survey design, the investigation encompassed the entirety of the 386,655 registered SMEs across selected Nigerian states. Utilizing Taro Yamane's statistical formula and a multistage sampling method, a representative sample of 400 SMEs was meticulously selected. The ensuing regression analysis revealed compelling insights. Religious convictions, trust in governance, and higher income levels emerged as substantial and positive determinants of taxpayer compliance, encompassing both voluntary and enforced aspects. Financial literacy exhibited a positive influence on compliance, though statistically insignificant, hinting at a potential impact that lacks statistical robustness. Educational attainment, while positively affecting compliance, demonstrated significance primarily in enforced compliance, with no statistically significant impact on voluntary compliance. In conclusion, the study underscores the pivotal role of tax morale in shaping compliance behaviour among SMEs in Nigeria. The findings advocate for governmental initiatives aimed at augmenting transparency and accountability in tax administration to cultivate a positive tax morale, consequently fostering enhanced compliance within the SME sector

We sourced the SDG data from each company’s official website and collected other variables from their annual reports, such as social audits, company size, debt level, liquidity, and profitability. The fixed effect regression analysis shows that social audit has a negative relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals. Social audits can reveal deficiencies in company practices, potentially lowering the perception of Sustainable Development Goals performance. The study emphasises the need to assess the effectiveness of company accountability mechanisms, like social audits, in promoting positive social and environmental outcomes. Social audits in promoting corporate responsibility if they impede progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Unraveling the Dynamic Nexus: A Time-Varying Analysis of Government Revenue and Expenditure in Algeria (1980-2022)

    Get PDF
This study investigates the evolving causal relationship between government revenue and expenditure in Algeria from 1980 to 2022, a period marked by significant fiscal policy shifts. Unlike previous research assuming a static relationship, we employ a bootstrap rolling window approach and spectral Granger-causality test to capture time-varying causality. These methods illuminate the dynamic nature of fiscal interactions in Algeria's changing economic landscape. Our findings robustly support the tax-spend hypothesis over extended periods, revealing that government revenues significantly influence expenditure patterns. Notably, from 1995 to 2003, we observe a positive effect on spending, coinciding with fiscal contraction and rationalization efforts. Conversely, despite declining tax revenues from 2005 to 2008, an expansionary fiscal policy increased spending, indicative of financial illusion. Interestingly, we also find intermittent short-term evidence supporting both the spend-tax and fiscal synchronization hypotheses, highlighting the complex and multifaceted nature of Algeria's fiscal dynamics. The spectral Granger-causality tests further corroborate these findings, particularly in the medium term. This study contributes to the literature on fiscal policy dynamics in resource-dependent economies and offers valuable insights for policymakers navigating Algeria's complex fiscal landscape. Our results underscore the importance of adaptive fiscal strategies that account for the time-varying nature of revenue-expenditure relationships, particularly in the face of oil price volatility and economic diversification efforts
