Abstract- Madagascar, although rich in mineral resources, continues to face major challenges in economic development. International development policy advocates for the harmonization of the Sustainable Development Goals and the national framework emphasizes that Madagascar is in search of development. The country's socioeconomic profile reveals marked multidimensional poverty, exacerbated by an unequal distribution of wealth from mineral resources, despite government efforts. The central issue lies in the behavior and position of operators in the face of these challenges, particularly their understanding of the legal framework. We propose a hypothesis as follows: operators (small-scale miners and the population) have the same understanding of the mining legal framework. The study aims to understand how the various operators mentioned perceive and approach this mining legal framework. The results show a diversity of levels of understanding among operators, ranging from somatic to mythical, with little access to more abstract levels of comprehension. This heterogeneity leads to unequal participation in the governance of the mining sector. Nevertheless, the methodology used, while rigorous, has limitations, including logistical difficulties and potential biases in the data. Looking ahead, advocating for the valorization of local knowledge proves necessary: first by adopting a glossary or legal lexicon for mining, then by promoting environmental education and technical training, and finally, by recognizing and integrating their knowledge into development policies. Keywords: Development policy, Socio-economy, Mineral Resources, Mining operators, Legal framework, Equit

    Get PDF
A sandwich panel with a polyurethane rigid foam core is a composite structure consisting of a core layer sandwiched by fiber-reinforced layers, which are generally made of glass fiber. Natural fibers are attracting interest as an environmentally friendly alternative to foam reinforcement. In this research, an analysis was carried out on the shear strength of sandwich composite cores stitched with natural fibers.  The specimen is a sandwich composite with polyurethane foam as the composite core and a fiberglass-reinforced polyester laminate as the composite skin. Natural fibers are stitched into polyurethane foam to strengthen it. Experimental methods are used to evaluate the shear strength of sandwich panels with various types of natural fibers. Shear tests were carried out in accordance with ASTM C 273-61 standards, to determine the shear strength between polyurethane and composite skin.  The results show that stitching the composite core with natural fibers significantly increases the shear strength compared to unstitched panels. Varying types of natural fibers affect the mechanical performance of panels differently. The use of natural fibers improves the mechanical performance of the panels. This research shows the potential of using natural fibers as an alternative reinforcement with promising experimental results

    Get PDF
Abstract— Rising sustainability concerns motivate the organization to be more cognizant of its supply chain decisions. In addition to focusing on minimizing operation costs and maximizing profits, the company must evaluate the environmental and social impacts of various supply chain activities, such as manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution, since the current customers expect low-cost, high-quality products or services, rapid, flexible, and consistent delivery services, as well as an optimal environment and social consideration, which necessitates the construction and planning of supply chains with great care. This article intends to examine the implementation and utilisation of a sustainability and optimisation model for the supply chain by addressing economic, environmental, and social components through a thorough literature review. This study comprises 111 evaluated publications on supply chain optimization and sustainability published between 2015 and 2021 from Science Direct, IEEE, and Emerald database. Using the PRISMA method, this study contributes to the evaluated works categorized based on descriptive statistics of review papers, supply chain optimization issues, optimization models, and research gaps for designing a better sustainable supply chain

Community-Based Flood Disaster Risk Mitigation Strategy on the Sugi River Banks Tarempa Village Siantan District

    Get PDF
Anambas Islands Regency is an area that is far from the center of regional government and the center of state government, making it difficult to get a quick response to disaster management and assistance. One of the disasters that often occurs in this area is flooding. The Anambas Islands Regency Government has made various efforts to increase the capacity of communities affected by flood disasters, but there is still a lack of community participation so awareness of the importance of disaster mitigation knowledge is still low. The central government through BNPB is encouraging the creation of a strategy for the formation of Disaster Resilient Villages (Destana). This research was conducted to answer the question of how to formulate a strategy for community-based disaster risk reduction based on the capacity of the community on the banks of the Sugi River, Tarempa Village, Siantan District? To answer this question, researchers collected primary data and secondary data which was carried out for 3 months from July 2023 to September 2023 in the area. The data analysis procedures in this research are identification of preparedness and community-based flood disaster risk reduction efforts on the banks of the Sugi River, community perceptions of the efforts of the local government of Anambas Islands Regency in managing flood disasters, perception data analysis method using a Likert scale, preparation of risk reduction strategies Community-Based Disaster Based on Community Capacity on the Sugi River Banks. Destana was chosen as the highest alternative because Destana can be a broad enough forum for the preparation and implementation of comprehensive community-based mitigation strategies

Using The Simplex Method For Optimizing Some Economic Functions Of The Enterprise "MSA Kompani" Dooel-Skopje

    Get PDF
In science, in economics, in practice, problems are often encountered in which it is required to find the largest (smallest) value of a numerical function with real values of the type . More precisely, the elements of the set  are required, where the function  reaches the optimal value. For this reason, such problems are called optimization problems. Optimization problems are also solved by so-called linear programming methods.Linear programming is a mathematical programming that deals with the problem of system optimization within given constraints, it is a method for solving production planning problems. The manufacturer wants to determine how to use the limited quantities of raw materials with maximum profit, the manager how to distribute the assigned work among his employees so that it is done in the shortest possible time, that is, to be as effective as possible. The goal of these problems is optimization, profit maximization or cost minimization [1].Making profit is the main goal of the company, but many companies still need to learn the maximum profit that can be achieved by optimizing their resources, one of which is the company “MSA KOMPANI”. This research focuses on the products of "MSA KOMPANI" DOOEL-SKOPJEdifferent according to the price. The purpose of this paper is to optimize the company's profits and costs. In this paper we will use the simplex linear programming method to solve our problem in "MSA KOMPANI". Modeling a real-life problem as a linear programming problem requires teamwork of experts from several fields.

    Get PDF
This study used qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess the factors influencing the use of inorganic fertilizers among small holder farmers. This research was conducted in Eastern province, Rwamagana district, in one of eight irrigated scheme called Rwamagana RW-34. The two stage purposive sampling method was performed to select 200 households’ respondents from four sectors as sample size. Descriptive statistics, logistic regression and correlation analysis were used. Regression results revealed that family size has highly significant effect (p=0.010) on use of inorganic fertilizer and has negative relationship with use of inorganic fertilizer.  Education level of household and access to extension service were found significant (p=0.1) with positive relationship. Off farm income of household and cooperative membership of household were found significant (p=0.05) with positive relationship with use of inorganic fertilizer. However distance travelled by household to nearest agro-dealer was found significant (p=0.1) with negative relationship with use of inorganic fertilizer. Much emphasize should be put in educating rural population, encouraging farmers to create functional cooperatives, promote training and extension services, creating more off farms employment and decentralize the agro dealers to cell level
