Automated Capping of Liquid Storage Bottles in Food Industry
The high speed automated production systems are employed nowadays to achieve improved quality of manufacturing accuracy with improvised and high production rates. This paper introduces a new design for the chucks which are used for capping the liquid bottles for food and beverage industry. This new chuck is designed for multi-functional purposes which reduce the time for changing the chuck if caps of different diameters are used. The power transmission to the chucks is delivered by using “Hysteresis magnetic type clutches”, for controlling and achieving smooth constant torque. The specialty of these clutches is that it offers smooth disengagement without jerks and bumps that increase its wear life compared to other ordinary clutches. The deformation and stress in the component are studied by performing the computer-aided structural analysis. With the analysis maximum deformation and maximum stress can be found out and the factor of safety can be calculated

A Novel Nano-biosensor for Colorectal Cancer Diagnostics by Detecting DNA Mismatch Repair Proteins
Cancer currently stands as the second-leading cause of death worldwide. Studies reveal colorectal cancer (CRC) to be the 4th leading cause of mortality due to cancer. It is estimated that about 30% of CRC cases are hereditary, of which 5% are attributed by known syndromes, particularly Lynch Syndrome. Lynch Syndrome (LS) is caused by loss or malfunction of proteins responsible for DNA mismatch repair proteins (MMR), mostly MLH1 and MSH2, causing increased risks of developing CRC. Despite the small percentage accounted with the disease, the severity of the illness still remains immense since 80% of these patients eventually develop CRC and an overwhelming 40-60 % of female patients develop endometrial cancer, the major form of cancer in women in the developing nations. This pilot study aims to fabricate a DNA-graphene-polypyrole (DGP) based biosensor to diagnose deficiency of functional MMR proteins present in patients at a scale of less than ng/ ml. Fundamental understanding of interactions at the interface of biological molecules, such as proteins, and nanomaterials is therefore crucial for developing such biocompatible hybrid materials and biosensing platforms. Conductive nanomaterials-based biosensors offer the advantage of higher sensitivity and reliable diagnosis mainly due to their superior specific surface area and ballistic conductivity. Such films that immobilize proteins can synergize the properties of transducers and molecular recognition elements in order to improve biosensor performance and diversity. Here we report for the first time, using a combined molecular dynamics simulations and experimental approach, the interactions between avidin and a graphene surface, which is being developed as a sensing platform for early detection of DNA mismatch repair proteins. We find that the interactive forces between avidin and graphene are mainly hydrophobic, along with some van der Waals, electrostatic and hydrogen bonding interactions. Notably, the structure and function of the avidin molecule is preserved after its adsorption on the graphene surface. The MD results agree well with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis of avidin immobilized on a graphenated polypyrrole (G-PPy) conductive substrate, which confirm adsorption of avidin on graphene nanoplatelets and corresponding changes in electrical impedance, respectively. A final analysis is being conducted to confirm our hypothesis
Biochip with Graphene-based Nanosensor for Non-invasive Glucose Sensing
Diabetes has become a serious global health threat and glucose test is very important for diabetic patients on a daily basis. Traditional blood glucose test uses a lancet device to prick the patient’s finger to get a drop of blood sample for testing. This invasive test causes pain to patient and increases the risk of cross-infection of blood-transmitted diseases. Non-invasive glucose monitoring has become very attractive alternative to blood glucose test. Research has found that other biological samples (e.g. saliva, tears, sweat, urine) also contains trace amount of glucose molecules and they may be used for diabetes diagnosis. However, glucose level in such biological samples is generally too low for traditional sensors. Nanotechnology offers new hope in high-resolution glucose sensing. In this research, we proposed a saliva glucose sensor that combines graphene-based glucose nanosensor with microfluidic biochip to develop a complete lab-on-a-chip (LoC) system for non-invasive glucose sensing. It is designed to collect, prepare and manipulate the microfluidic sample for glucose sensing using graphene-based glucose nanosensor. The key components of the lab-on-a-chip are designed and simulated with COMSOL. The LoC device may be used for non-invasive glucose sensing for diabetes diagnosis and self-monitoring

Through the use of facilities such as the Connecticut Beardsley zoo, the Conservation Center in South Salem, NY (Westchester County) to that of wild wolf behavior from National Geographic documentary videos and reference books, we can observe the drastic differences of wolf behavior which widely depends on their environment, the food, and the amount of social contact they have within their pack. Wolves show a great deal of dominance over their territories, packs, and the source of food available to them. This interchanging network is cultivated through the relationships wolves have with their surroundings, therefore every stimulant produces a survival reaction that is an embodiment of their behaviors. If a wolf is captive and has no reason to fight for its survival by protecting a territory or hunting for its next meal, then the wolf ’s behavior and instincts are cut down to more than fifty percent. The predator instincts imbedded into the genetic makeup of a wolf, makes a wolf, a wolf. The purpose of this study was to observe and measure wolf social and non-social behaviors in captivity and to compare these behaviors to those seen in the wild. Results demonstrated that the wolf behavioral repertoire is much reduced in captivity

This Paper surveys security in cloud computing based on Third Party Auditor (TPA) also known as Trusted Third Party (TTP). There are various security models for safeguarding the client’s data in cloud. TPA provides secure connections between the user and the cloud server. Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Provides the clients with cloud storage and service. TPA has access to the client’s cloud data and all the critical information. There are many security models for making the TPA more reliable so the clients can trust the third party for storing their data. In this paper, we survey mostly the types of security models based on Third Party Auditing in cloud. We also discuss how these security models enable the third parties to gain the clients trust. The classification has been based on the adopted security method as well as on the kind of threats they are addressing
NYC Taxi Trip and Fare Data Analytics using BigData
Traditionally the data captured from the NYC Taxi & Limousine commission was physically analysed by various analyst to find the superlative practice to follow and derives the output from it which would eventually aids the people who commute via taxis. Later during early 2000 the taxi services where exponentially developed and the data capture by NYC was in GB’s, which was very difficult to analyse manually. To overcome these hitches BigData was under the limelight to analyse such a colossal dataset. There were around 180 million taxi ride in city of New York in 2014. BigData can effortlessly analyse the thousands of GB within a fractions seconds and expedite the process. This data can be analysed for several purposes like avoiding traffics, lower rate where services are not functioning more frequency than a cab on crown location and many more. This information can be used by numerous authorities and industries for their own purpose. Government official can use this data to deliver supplementary public transport service. The company like Uber can use this data for their own taxi service
A Two-Stage Multi-Criteria Decision Making Approach for Green Supplier Selection
Awareness of environmental protection and sustainability in the manufacturing industry has grown making the green image a more critical factor in the supplier selection process. Supplier evaluation and selection are well studied in the literature. However, studies with a green focus are relatively limited. In order to fill this gap, this paper proposes a green supplier evaluation and selection (GSES) method that evaluates suppliers according to their green competencies and environmental performances. In this regard, a combined multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approach capable of handling imprecise quantitative and qualitative data is proposed. To demonstrate the functionality of the approach, a case study is conducted on a U.S. based company that manufactures and distributes plastic closures and dispensing systems, internationally. The results of the approach along with the discussion for future research are also provided
