Visitability Creating Inclusive Communities
There are 418,000 people with disabilities living in Connecticut, more than 76,000 in Hartford alone. Visitability is concerned with creating housing that will accommodate everyone, no matter what age or ability, in the aspect of community life. Visitability does not want to be associated with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) practices by rather be an affordable, sustainable, and inclusive design approach for integrating basic accessibility features into all newly built homes and housing complexes. Homes built with everyone in mind are more in demand and bring a higher return on investment. An increasing design trend is that homebuyers are looking for ease of access features like open floor plans and single level living so they can stay active and stay in their home while aging-in-place. Visitable homes achieve this design trend because as homebuyers age they won’t need to make minimum accessibility changes. (A project of Independence unlimited,Inc, 2017
Big Data Approach to Traffic Violation Data Analytics
This paper presents an in-depth analysis of traffic violations patterns using Big Data Analytic methods, aimed at improving monitoring patrol, government planning and decision making. The analysis was carried out using data available from over a period of four years in all US states. It describes certain problem definitions, processing and analyzing unstructured data using Hadoop Systems tools, data visualization and evaluating the results. In addition we described the MapReduce programming model in relation to our data analysis process and provided its implementation details. We implemented other Hadoop Eco System tools such as Hive and Spark that were used for comparison and evaluation. Finally, this paper presents the data visualization concept use to further present data in graphical forms for better pattern identification

We will fulfill important University needs by planning a restoration of a historical home and the possibility of retrofitting the building to improve energy and environmental performance as a “smart building” on campus. With in the house we will create a University innovation center. We will introduce an app for the UB community to connect them to social and educational activities taking place on campus and in the greater Bridgeport area
Energy Efficient Routing Protocols and Efficient Bandwidth Techniques in Underwater Sensor Networks
The Underwater wireless remote sensors convey messages in a range, where there is no possible human intervention. It is difficult to replace the battery and save energy in an acoustic environment, even solar energy cannot be used to energize batteries. These sensors are required to work for a long period of time, but they have constrained energy limitation. Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSN) have unpleasant surrounding which leads to high energy constraints, low bandwidth, decreased throughput, propagation delay. The speed of the sound also varies, which results in the specific loss. Combined attenuation and noise occurrence result in a typical power spectral density which leads in a decline of 18 dB in the duration of ten years. While packets are being forwarded, the energy consumption must be less or balanced, else energy holes are created. In such cases: the energy efficiency, lifetime and throughput are expanded. Extracting Knowledge from the Geometric Shape of Social Network Data Using Topological Data Analysis
Topological data analysis is a noble approach to extract meaningful information from high-dimensional data and is robust to noise. It is based on topology, which aims to study the geometric shape of data. In order to apply topological data analysis, an algorithm called mapper is adopted. The output from mapper is a simplicial complex that represents a set of connected clusters of data points. In this paper, we explore the feasibility of topological data analysis for mining social network data by addressing the problem of image popularity. We randomly crawl images from Instagram and analyze the effects of social context and image content on an image’s popularity using mapper. Mapper clusters the images using each feature, and the ratio of popularity in each cluster is computed to determine the clusters with a high or low possibility of popularity. Then, the popularity of images are predicted to evaluate the accuracy of topological data analysis. This approach is further compared with traditional clustering algorithms, including k-means and hierarchical clustering, in terms of accuracy, and the results show that topological data analysis outperforms the others. Moreover, topological data analysis provides meaningful information based on the connectivity between the clusters.https://doi.org/10.3390/e1907036
Women’s Empowerment through Promotion of Menstrual Hygiene Management
Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) has a broad impact on society, including culture, health, and economy. While the scholarship has recently exposed existing gaps in understanding the issue at large, this research interrogates the connection between health and empowerment of women, that would lead to positive outcomes in economic development. MHM usually results in absenteeism in school, the project argues that promoting menstrual hygiene management in schools could keep them enrolled in schools for longer periods, resulting in higher literacy, numeracy, skills-generation, and greater long-term economic growth, and economic empowerment of women

Asthma is the most common unpreventable chronic condition among children under the age of 18, affecting 6.3 million (CDC). The number of children with asthma in America increases exponentially every year, yet inhalers have not been designed or redesigned in decades to fulfill the physical, emotional, and mental needs of a child. Asthma is the leading cause for child hospitalization, emergency room visits, and missed school days among ages 5-17. Asthmatic Children: The most vulnerable to this chronic disease and are hospitalized the most out of all age groups (ALA). Children suffer from more attacks than adults and rely on their medication heavily to recover. Metered Dose Inhalers (Emergency Inhaler): The simplest and most accessible medical device used to treat asthma, but they have not been designed to fulfill the needs of a child.
