    The Nexus between Political Awareness and Social Media Political Participation as Mediated by the Political Efficacy Among Youth in Region XI Philippines

    The central aim of this study is to examine the role of political efficacy in mediating the connection between political awareness and social media political participation among youths in Region XI, Philippines. This study used a quantitative method, more especially, a non-experimental correlational approach. Data was collected online through Google Forms using modified questions, and respondents were chosen using stratified random sampling. Validity and reliability tests were per-formed on the measurement model, while descriptive statistics were utilized to depict the constructs in the study. The proposed mediation model was assessed using the standard algorithm-bootstrapping of SmartPLS 4.0 for mediation analysis. The findings revealed that the measurement model is valid and reliable based on the AVE, HTMT, Cronbach’s Alpha values. The results indicated that youth in Region XI demonstrated high levels of political awareness, and moderate levels of political efficacy and social media political participation. Furthermore, the mediation analysis suggests that political efficacy significantly mediates the relationship between political awareness and social media political participation. These results underscore the critical role of political efficacy as a key mechanism through which political awareness translates into active political engagement on social media among the youth. The study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers interested in enhancing political participation through increased political awareness and efficacy

    This article examines the strategic importance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the global economy, emphasizing their agility and innovation alongside the challenges they encounter in adopting new technologies. SMEs, constituting 90-95% of all global enterprises and responsible for 60% of employment, contribute to GDP, economic diversification, and community development. The study reviews a broad spectrum of literature to highlight the role of emerging technologies in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making within SMEs while recognizing significant obstacles such as financial and human resource limitations and increased cybersecurity risks. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research assesses the impact of technological advancements on a diverse range of SMEs, ensuring generalizability and reinforcing the study’s validity and reliability. It identifies a gap in empirical knowledge on technology integration and offers insights into the dual opportunities and challenges digital tools present. The findings suggest that while SMEs greatly benefit from technological progress, adequate policy support is crucial for overcoming implementation hurdles, guiding strategic technology investments, and fostering economic sustainability and competitiveness in the digital era

    This paper explores the transformative potential of primary education pedagogy to instill the logic and ethics of the commons, emphasizing a paradigm shift away from competitive or individualistic learning frameworks towards those fostering care, reciprocity, and mutual support. Through a year-long action research project in a sixth-grade classroom, this study examines the transfer of Educational commons elements into formal schooling.     Silent responses: Building international student confidence to participate in taught sessions at the graduate level

    Over the last few decades, the number of tertiary students studying abroad has grown significantly. This has resulted in instructors teaching an increasingly diverse student body (both culturally and linguistically), particularly at the graduate level. This article focuses its attention on international students whose classroom presence is described by some as being very quiet, with a reluctance to speak up within the learning environment. To positively address this, a suite of original practical strategies is presented for graduate instructors to use to initially build international student confidence to participate during taught sessions. By embracing the notion of silent responses to questions, graduate instructors can be sensitive to select factors which influence international students’ reluctance in participating in classroom activities, supporting their emerging confidence and learning experience at the start of their graduate programme

    A Systematic Review of the Effect of Financial Management Practices on Service Delivery in Secondary Schools

    In this systematic review analysis design, we explore the available peer-reviewed literature on the effect of financial management practices on service delivery in African secondary schools. Specifically, we reviewed the effect of budgeting, auditing and financial internal control on the service delivery in secondary schools. Study findings reveal that budgeting ensures effective implementation of education programs. In addition, the activities in the secondary school system are adequately planned and allocate resources apportioned to ensure effective execution and implementation. Besides, audits of school accounts result in good financial management and effective control mechanism that ensures overall operational efficiency. From the results of this review, we hereby suggest that Head teachers need to manage financial resources more responsively for effective performance and fulfilling of institutional needs, those of the teachers, students and other stakeholders of respective secondary schools. It is very crucial for school administrators and support staff in charge of finances and resource mobilization to regularly attend professional development course in order to acquire relevant financial skills and competencies required for effective management of resources in the school so as to tremendously improve on the quality of secondary schools’ service delivery
