It is a deep honour that I have been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of newly-published journal titled EIKI Journal of Effective Teaching Methods. The journal features an exciting array of educational research and developments from experts in pedagogical field.
First of all, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the European Institute of Knowledge and Innovation, which publishes this journal, and which has entrusted me with this important duty.
To be the Editor-in-Chief of a scientific journal is a very demanding and serious duty. It is not limited to performing editing tasks and supervising timely and thorough reviewing process of scientific papers. This duty also includes communication with the journal readers. And the editor must respond to their academic interests and needs. Moreover, this involves editor’s ability to respond to criticism and implement the applicable recommendations to improve the journal.
Of course, editor is also required to make further plans for the journal, and especially to make sure it is recognized as an outstanding publication on an international plan. Our team constantly work to improve the journal and in nearly future it will get indexed in multiple databases to increase its visibility. Also, we are working on giving a new boost to regional and international cooperation on the journal platform.
All these requirements oblige an editor to be ready for hard and long-lasting work, as only systematic attitudes may result in continuous publication of the journal, and constant quality improvements.
At this point, please allow me to briefly introduce myself. My principal educational, scientific and professional activities have been focused on the field of linguistics and language education. My doctorate thesis dealt with comparative professional education of law-enforcement personnel in developing countries facing hybrid threats and counteracting proxy war.
In addition to my lecturing activity, I am always trying to pursue the cooperation with research institutions, as this is the best way to obtain useful innovative ideas and exchange experience with outstanding scholars.
I am currently heading an international project at the European Institute of Knowledge and Innovation. I am also in charge of several worshops for professional advancement in teaching methodology and educational discourse development.
When considering various duties of editors-in-chief, then it can rightly be said that a great courage is needed to take on this position, especially if we are talking about newly-published journal that needs through efficient planning and management.
In fact, already from the first issue I am editing, innovative features include an updated look of the journal website, easy-to-use journal platform, international experience of the editorial team and reviewers, and appointment of younger colleagues as members of the Editorial Board. As for me, I am thrilled to take on this important responsibility and contribute to the advancement of the scientific community through the publication of cutting-edge research.
I am certainly very much interested in ensuring regular publication of the journal and hope it will become one of the leading journals in the sphere of pedagogical science. Also, I encourage newly appointed members of the board to publish papers in this journal to demonstrate their expertise and share innovative ideas as well as to promote the journal within their institutions and persuade their colleagues to present their findings in EIKI Journal of Effective Teaching Methods.
Most importantly, I am grateful to the scientific community and the authors who have entrusted us with their research. As an editor-in-chief, I understand the importance of publishing high-quality research that advances our understanding of the world around us.
I wish to extend my thanks in advance to all authors who are going to accept our journal as a proper platform for sharing and presenting their research results relating to all aspects of educational process and improvement of teaching methodology in particular.
As the Editor-in-Chief of this journal, I am constantly inspired by the dedication and ingenuity of the scientific community, who work tirelessly to advance our understanding of the world around us. I will do everything in my power to ensure that this journal remains a respected and impactful platform for the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
In this edition, you will find a diverse range of topics spanning various aspects of pedagogical science including professional training, innovative teaching and use of information and communication technologies, curriculum development, overcoming communication barriers in the educational process as well as organization of experimental research in education.

Digital Games and Second Language Learning among Tertiary-level EFL Learners: A Critical Review
Get PDFDespite the increased interest in the possibilities of digital games in second language education, their use in higher education is a relatively uncharted territory. This review was carried out to examine how digital game-based language learning is used, and what its effects are on language learners at tertiary level in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. Twenty-seven studies were short-listed from academic literature and were analysed for research methodology, theoretical frameworks, research foci, game types and specifications, research results, and pedagogical implications. The research revealed six types of digital games, each with its own affordances that could enhance language learning. It was also found that these games increased vocabulary uptake and long-term lexical retention, enhanced L2 reading and listening comprehension, fostered writing ability and communicative competence, and increased motivation and willingness to communicate in the L2. Therefore, it may be deduced that digital games can be employed as a beneficial tool for the development of L2 competence and for the enrichment of the language learning experience. No full textThe aim of this study is the 21st century, which has an important place in the cognitive, emotional, academic and social development of students. The aim is to reveal the metaphors produced by teachers, who are in the position of gaining creative thinking, one of the learning and innovation skills, about creative thinking. The research was carried out with 10 teachers working in different types and levels of public schools in the Efeler district of Aydın province in the 2022-2023 academic year. In the study, in which the phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research designs, was used, the participants were asked a question in the semi-structured "creative thinking metaphor interview form" prepared by the researchers and the data obtained were analyzed by content analysis. The metaphors produced by the teachers in the study group about creative thinking were grouped into four categories: "generating original ideas", "problem solving", "rethinking" and "creating an original product".
 
Knowledge, Perception, Utilisation and Attitude Towards Social Media-Based Learning as Predictors of Students’ Academic Achievement in Geography
Get PDFThis study examined the predictive power of knowledge, perception, utilisation, and attitude toward social media-based learning on students’ academic achievement in geography. Adopting a correlational research type and population proportion to size sampling technique, 975 respondents were selected from thirty-nine schools. Assessment of Social Media Knowledge (KR20 = 0.73), Geography Achievement Test (KR20 = 0.82), Social Media Perception (α =0.86), Perceived Social Media Utilisation (α = 0.72), and Social Media Attitude Scales (α = 0.83) were used to collect and analysed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression. Fifty percent (50%) of the respondents use social media-based learning for academic purposes. Positive linear relationship exists between the predictor variables and the criterion variable. The four predictors accounted for 9.9% of the student’s achievement in Geography. Knowledge of social media β = .266; t (617) = 6.936) was most influential, followed by attitude (β = .157; t (617) = 3.031) in predicting students’ achievement in Geography, while perception and utilisation were not statistically significant at 0.05 significant level. Conclusively, students are encouraged to use social media for academic purposes in order to excel in geography and, perhaps, in other subjects

The ways of Improvement for the Livelihood approaches of Persons with Disabilities: A case study on Kachia, Bhola Sadar
Get PDFA person with disabilities faces difficulties throughout their life. From the very early stages of life, they found themselves facing challenges due to the social structure and financial condition of our county. The Bangladesh government is now launching various initiatives to improve the lives of people with disabilities. As well as several NGOs and INGOs working for the development and inclusion of people with disabilities in different sectors, this paper is about identifying the challenges and limitations of their services and trying to find ways out for possible solutions to solve those shortcomings. Bhola is an area where disaster is also an issue that affects human life. In a survey of 285 households, 53% were persons with disabilities. The average family size was 5, with 65% literacy. Community structures like Union Parishad Members (54%) and Child Clubs (30%) were prominent. Education findings revealed 24% had knowledge for small businesses. 21% of families with disabilities had adequate resources, and 6% of health professionals enhanced skills. Inclusive education knowledge increased for 20%, with 20% of trained teachers adapting methods. Disaster risk reduction training improved skills for 19%. Regarding climate-related risks, 23% of persons with disabilities reported adoption measures. Overall, the study focuses on enhancing inclusivity, education, and disaster resilience among persons with disabilities. A person\u27s disability becomes more difficult during a disaster. Education and health services are required for the improvement of the lives of people with disabilities. Simultaneously, conditions during disasters were a major focus of this research. Self-help groups and connections with local NGOs/INGOs will be beneficial. Government service linkage and access to information will be helpful for the person with a disability. This study aims at identifying potential ways to improve the lives of people with disabilities and to find ways to increase their employment opportunities in the community
