Aktivitas Antimikroba Ekstrak Etanol Biji Pinang Muda (Areca catechu)
Thrush is an oral disease caused by bacterial and fungal infections. Treatment for this disease can be done by administering drugs that contain antimicrobial compounds. This study aims to test the ethanol extract of young areca nut against bacteria and fungi that cause Oral thrush. Young betel nut extract is obtained through maceration process using 96% ethanol. Then the activity of the Streptococcus sanguis bacteria and Candida albican fungus was tested. This test used the well method which was carried out on 5 variations of the concentration of young areca nut extract (2.5%; 5%; 7.5%; 10% and 15%) with one negative control (Na CMC). The results of the antimicrobial activity of young areca nut extract showed that young areca nut extract can inhibit Streptococcus sanguis bacteria with inhibition value are (9,961; 11,319; 13,390; 14,184; 14,704 mm) and Candida albican fungus are (7,482; 10,923; 14,695; 15,742; 17,325 mm) on 5 variations of the concentration
Ekstraksi Polifenol Total dari Daun Kadamba (Mitragyna Speciosa Korth.) Menggunakan Malic Acid-Glucose Based Microwave Assisted Extraction
This study aims to determine the effect of the use of malic acid-glucose based microwave assited extraction (MAE) methods on total polyphenol extraction from kadamba leaves (Mitragyna Speciosa Korth). Samples that have been dried in the extraction using solvents (green solvent) Malic Acid-Glucose with a ratio of 1: 1 and 1: 3 g/g in several conditions including, microwave strength 50% for 10 minutes with a sample ratio and a solvent of 1:10 g/mL. Then the extract solution obtained was measured in total polyphenol levels using the folin ciocalteu (FC) reagent and the absorbance was measured at a wavelength of 791 nm using a UV-vis spectrophotometer. Based on the results of the study obtained levels of polyphenols from each condition of the solvent used is 258mg GAE/g sample (1:1 g/g solvent) and 292mg GAE /g sample (1: 3 g / g solvent). From this study it can be concluded that the method of malic acid-glucose based microwave assited extraction can be used to extract polyphenol compounds from Kadamba leaves quickly, easily and efficiently
Kajian In Silico Senyawa Turunan Kalkon sebagai Antikanker
Senyawa kalkon termasuk dalam famili flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas seperti antimalarial, antioksidan, antimikroba, antikanker dan analgesik. Aktivitas antikanker senyawa kalkon berbasis 3,4-metilendioksi asetofenon di analisis melalui metode docking dengan adanya interaksi antara senyawa turunan kalkon dengan enzim topoisomerase II. Senyawa turunan kalkon berbasis 3,4-metilendioksi asetofenon dioptimasi dengan Hyperchem 8.0 dan di docking dengan MOE Chemical Computing Group. Identifikasi Metabolit Sekunder Ekstrak Metanol Akar dan Batang Merung (Coptosapelta tomentosa ) yang Memiliki Aktivitas Antioksidan Menggunakan Metode KLT Autografi
Secondary metabolites produced by plants have been known to have a variety of biological activities including antioxidants that serve to ward off oxidant compounds and free radicals. The roots of merung (Coptosapelta tomentosa) has been known to have strong activity as an antioxidant while antioxidant activity in the stem is not yet known to date. This research aims to determine the secondary metabolites that have antioxidant activity on the root extracts and the stem of the vines qualitatively. The root extract and the stem of the merung plant are extracted with a methanol solvent using the maceration method. Antioxidant activity and identification of secondary metabolites are carried out qualitatively by the method of autography using the 2.2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl compound (DPPH) and some reagents of the secondary metabolite. Antioxidant activity of the merung root extract is on spot with RF 0.08 and 0.66. Spot with the RF 0.66 shows the brown color when reacted FeCl3, fluorescent yellow in UV rays 254 and 366 nm after reacted AlCl3 and red when reacted with KOH. The antioxidant activity of the merung stem extracts is at Rf 0.16, 0.33, 0.58, 0.66, and 0.75. Spot with the Rf 0.16 shows the color of brown when reacted FeCl3 and fluorescent blue in UV rays 254 and 366 nm after reacted AlCl3. Secondary metabolites that have antioxidant activity on root extracts and stems are suspected to be derivative phenolic compounds derived from flavonoid compounds
Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Kombinasi Ekstrak Etanol Daun Sirih Hijau (Piper betle L.) dan Madu terhadap Bakteri Propionibacterium acnes
Green betel leaf (Piper betle L.) and honey have been scientifically known to have antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity of green betel leaf is caused by the presence of compounds, such as tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and terpenoids. While honey is due to the high sugar content, the acidity and compounds from the flavonoid, glycoside, and hydrogen peroxide groups. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the combination of these extracts against Propionibacterium acnes. Antibacterial activity was tested using the well technique agar diffusion method with green betel leaf extract concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, and 12.5% ??and combined each concentration with 100% of honey. The results obtained by the extract antibacterial activity at concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, and 12.5%, each combined with 100% of honey respectively at 11,81 mm; 14,45 mm; 15,48 mm; 16,77 mm; and 14,68 mm against Propionibacterium acnes. The results of this study indicate the combination of green betel leaf extract with a concentration of 10% and 100% honey produces the most effective inhibition zone
Evaluasi Formula dan Uji Penetrasi Gel Kuersetin Sebagai Obat Luka Sayat Pada Kelinci
Kuersetin merupakan senyawa golongan falvonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan antiinflamasi yang tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan hasil formula yang baik, mengetahui efektivitas gel kuersetin sebagai obat luka sayat pada kelinci, dan mendapatkan penetrasi kuersetin yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengevaluasi fisik gel meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, dan daya sebar, hasil dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan one-way ANOVA. Pengujian efektivitas luka sayat menggunakan kelinci dan dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok percobaan, hasil dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskripif dan kruskal-wallis. Pengujian penetrasi gel menggunakan membran kulit kelinci, hasil dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil evaluasi organoleptik dan homogenitas tidak ada perubahan selama waktu penyimanan 3 minggu, pH 5,00-5,20, viskositas 28,00-28,76 Pa.s, dan daya sebar 5,77-5,87 cm. Hasil analisis efektivitas gel terhadap luka sayat yaitu 0,002 (p<0,05). Hasil penetrasi gel pada kulit normal: kulit luka adalah 62,45%: 75,51%, hasil analisis yaitu 0,003 (p<0,05). Formula gel kuersetin yang dihasilkan stabil selama penyimpanan 3 minggu pada suhu ruang (±25°-30°C), serta memiliki aktivitas dan penetrasi yang baik terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat pada kelinci
Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) terhadap Peredaman DPPH
Kulit buah alpukat mengandung senyawa kimia yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Sehingga telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol kulit buah alpukat (persea americana Mill.) terhadap peredaman radikal DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak etanol kulit buah alpukat dibuat varian konsentrasi 50 ppm, 75 ppm, 100 ppm, 125 ppm, 150 ppm dan asam askorbat sebagai kontrol positif dengan varian konsentrasi 2 ppm, 4 ppm, 6 ppm, 8 ppm, 10 ppm. Aktivitas antioksidan terhadap peredaman radikal DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) diukur menggunakan spektrofotometri Uv-Vis. Hasil aktivitas antioksidan yang diperoleh berupa nilaiIC50(inhibition concentration) dari ekstrak etanol kulit buah alpukat yaitu sebesar 137.34 ppm dan asam askorbat sebesar 13.18 ppm. Pola Penggunaan Obat Mood Stabilizer Pada Pasien Bipolar di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Daerah Atma Husada Mahakam
Bipolar disorder is a chronic mood disorder characterized by episodes of mania or hypomania that occur alternately or mixed with depressive episodes. This study aims to determine the characteristics of bipolar patients and patterns of drug use inpatient and outpatient bipolar patients at Atma Husada Mahakam Hospital. The type of this research is non experimental (descriptive) and done retrospectively. Data are collected from medical record. Research subjects were 84 inpatients and 137 outpatients with bipolar disorder diagnosis. Data are analyzed by describing research\u27s objects. The results were obtained from inpatient and outpatient data showing 63% and 60% female sex, showing 26-35 years (early adulthood), not working, not married, and high school level education. The most usage pattern of drugs is a combination of 2 and 3 drugs, namely 74.99% for inpatient care and 73.71% for outpatient treatment. The drugs most commonly used are mood stabilizers (valproate acid) and atypical antipsychotics (risperidone)
Potensi Ekstrak Kulit Buah Pinang sebagai Antibakteri Propionibacterium acne Penyebab Jerawat
Pinang (Areca catechu L.) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak manfaat terutama pada bagian buahnya namun kulit buah pinang hanya dianggap sebagai limbah. Secara empiris suku dayaq benuaq memggunakan kulit buah pinang dalam pengobatan jerawat, namun belum ada data ilmiah mengenai hal tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji potensi antibakteri kulit buah pinang terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acne penyebab jerawat dengan menggunakan metode Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dengan seri konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 30% dan 50%, serta dianalisis dengan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kulit pinang tua memiliki daya hambat sebesar 2,3 mm (5%), 4,3 mm (10%), dan 5 mm (30%), serta 6,6 mm (50%). Sedangkan kulit pinang muda memiliki daya hambat sebesar 1 mm (10%), 1,3 mm (30%) dan 5,6 mm (50%). Kulit buah pinang memiliki potensi antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne penyebab jerawat
Formulasi Sediaan Blush Cream dari Ekstrak Biji Kesumba Keling (Bixa orellana (L.)) sebagai Pewarna Alami Kosmetik
Blush is a type of decorative cosmetics used in the cheek area there used with the aim of adding aesthetic value to the face so that the face looks prettier, fresher and has more dimension. Currently there are many blush preparations on the market that contain hazardous chemicals, then a blush preparation made from kesumba keling seed extract containing bixin as natural coloring is made. The purpose of this study was to formulation and evaluate blush cream preparations by utilizing the acetone and maceration is concentrated with a rotary vacuum evaporator. Blush cream formula made using dyes from kesumba keling seed extract with a concentration of 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 3% into the chosen base formula that produced color in successive orange-yellowish, soft-orange, dark-orange and orange-brownish color. Evaluations undertaken include organoleptic, homogeneity test, dispersion test, pH test, viscosity test and preferences test. The results obtained are based on parameters test, namely the four formulas enter the required value range. Aseptability test results showed that the preparation of blush cream with a concentration of 2% of the most preferred color of kesumba rivet seed extract and at a concentration of 0.5% was the easiest to spread
