    Immunomodulator is a substance that can change or affect the body\u27s immune system to normal. One of the plants that has immunomodulatory activity is ginger rhizome. Ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale) is a tribe of Zingiberaceae which is widespread in Southeast Asia, empirically used as a cooking spice and traditional medicine to treat various medical conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, rheumatism, soreness, sore throat, constipation, indigestion, hypertension, dementia, fever, infectious diseases, and helminthiasis. The purpose of this study is to examine the literature regarding the compound [6] -Gingerol from ginger rhizome which has immunomodulatory activity. This research method is a literature study conducted by an online search process using the Google Chrome application, journals obtained on the ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The journals are national and international journals without any publication time limit for cited journals. There are 7 pieces of literature showing that the compound [6] -Gingerol from ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale) has activity as an immunomodulator

    Antipsychotics are the main therapy and are usually combined in schizophrenia, allowing interactions tooccur. This research was conducted by analyzing the medical records of schizophrenic patients at the AtmaHusada Mahakam Mental Hospital in Samarinda for the period of 2019. The research characteristicsobtained were men (73.52%) and women (26.48%). The results showed that there were 61.22% ofantipsychotic drug interactions. The drug interactions that occurred were 58.16% pharmacodynamicinteractions, 3.06% pharmacokinetic interactions and 38.77% unknown interactions

    Kaffir Lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) often used for various treatments and also for cosmetics. One of the benefits of lime leaves in cosmetics is Sunscreen. The purpose of this study is to determine the activity of sunscreen and the category of sunscreen. The value %Te, %Tp, and Spf can be seen from the results of the calculation. The method is used by maceration. Then, the measurements using an UV spectrophotometer. At concentration of 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm and 500 ppm. At wavelengths of 292,5 - 372,5 nm for measurements of values % Te and % Tp. While for SPF values at wavelengths of 290 - 320 nm. The best results obtained were at concentration of 500 ppm, with a value of % Te 1,78 which is an extra protection category and the value of % Tp 1,27 which is the sunblock category, and the value of SPF 16 which is the ultra category

    Pengaruh Pemberian Infusa Daun Kerokot terhadap Kadar MDA (Malondialdehida) pada Hewan Coba

    Tanaman kerokot (Lygodium microphylum) menunjukan adanya aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 65 µ.g/ml. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam daun kerokot dan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian infusa daun kerokot terhadap malondialdehida (MDA) pada hewan coba yang telah dipaparkan asap rokok. Digunakan metode TBARS (Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substance) yang diukur menggunakan Spektofotometer UV-Vis untuk menganalisis kadar MDA. Hewan coba  sebanyak 20 ekor dibagi 4 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol normal, paparan asap rokok selama 7 hari, kelompok paparan asap rokok 14 hari serta kelompok infusa daun kerokot. Hasil fitokimia menunjukan bahwa infusa daun kerokot mengandung flavonoid dan tanin. Pengujian kadar MDA menunjukan hasil penurunan kadar MDA setelah pemberian infusa daun kerokot dosis 600 mg/kg BB

    Kokang (Lepisanthes amoena (Hassk.) Leenh) dan kersen (Muntingia calabura L.)  merupakan bahan alam yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak etanol daun kokang dan kersen baik dalam bentuk tunggal maupun kombinasi sebagai Tabir Surya secara in vitro. Penelitian ini mengukur aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl) dan pengujian aktivitas tabir surya %Te dan %Tp yang dihitung berdasarkan nilai absorbansi menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun kokang (IC50 =18 ppm) dan daun kersen (IC50 =27 ppm) dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat kuat. Pengujian tabir surya menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi 1:2 ekstrak kokang dan kersen termasuk kategori proteksi ekstra dengan %Te sebesar 1,76% dan kategori sunblock dengan %Tp sebesar 1,36%

    Hypertension is a disease that has increased in recent years and number 3 cause of death after stroke and tuberculosis, the proportion of deaths reaching 6.7% of population in Indonesia. This research uses descriptive method by collecting data retrospectively based on patient medical records in January-August 2019. The results showed that hypertensive of patients is clasified as 4% (pre-hypertension), 28%(stage 1),and 68%(stage 2). 44% Therapy was given based on the K1 research code (a combination of ARB and CCB). 80 % therapeutic goals were achieved

    Bawang tiwai (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill) Urb)a plant that originated from Kalimantan. This plant is traditionally used as a medicinal plant in the community. Bawang tiwai have bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins which act as antioxidants. In addition bawang tiwai, turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.)is a traditional medicinal plant used for seasoning and is a medicinal plant as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory. The aim of the research is to measure the antioxidant activity of the combination of extracts of bawang tiwai(Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill) Urb)and Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.). Antioxidant activity test used the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl Hidrazil) measured absorption at a wavelength of 517 nm. Antioxidant activity was assessed based on% inhibition (IC50) which is the concentration of the sample solution is needed to reduce free radicals by 50%. The results obtained by measuring the antioxidant activity fromcombination extracts of IC50 was 185,118 ppm respectively

    Mangrove forest soil is a habitat and source of diversity of microorganisms, including thermophilic bacteria. The utilization of thermophilic bacteria has been carried out in the pharmaceutical field, especially as a source of raw materials for pharmaceutical products. This study aims to provide an overview of the population of thermophilic bacteria found in mangrove forest soils. Soil samples were obtained by random stratification with a depth of 5-10 cm at 9 points from 3 strata. The isolation media used were Starch Casein Agar (SCA), and the groups of bacteria determined by using the Gram staining method. The selected thermophilic bacteria from mangrove forest soil totaling 64 isolates consisted of Gram-negative that divides into 20 bacilli, 9 cocci, 6 vibrios, and Gram-positive consisted of 26 bacilli, 3 cocci. The highest population of thermophilic bacteria from mangrove forest soils was Gram-negative as many as 35 isolates

    Hipertensi adalah suatu keadaan meningkatnya tekanan darah sistolik lebih dari 140 mmHg dan diastolik lebih dari 90 mmHg. Terapi utama hipertensi adalah penggunaan antihipertensi, yang membutuhkan perawatan yang lama bahkan sampai seumur hidup. Sehingga diperlukan obat-obat yang lebih ekonomis dan efektif dalam pengobatan hipertensi dalam bentuk CMA (Cost-Minimization Analysis). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan penelusuran data secara retrospektif terhadap catatan rekam medis pasien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 38 pasien terdapat 18 pasien (47%) adalah laki-laki dan 20 pasien (53%) adalah perempuan. Rata-rata usia pasien terbanyak antara 51 sampai 60 tahun, dengan lama rawat inap terbanyak yaitu 1 sampai 5 hari. Obat antihipertensi yang paling banyak digunakan yaitu kombinsi 2 obat yaitu amlodipine 5 mg dengan captopril 12,5 mg dan amlodipine 10 mg dengan captopril 25 mg. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa antihipertensi yang memiliki biaya minimal adalah Rp498.800,00

    Interaksi Metformin dan Perasan Jahe Terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah dan Organ Mencit Diabetes

    Metformin dengan jahe ketika digunakan bersamaan efek antidiabetes yang dimiliki keduanya bekerja secara sinergis dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat interaksi yang terjadi akibat penggunaan perasan jahe dan metformin yang dilihat dari perubahan kadar glukosa darah dan organ mencit diabetes. Mencit diabetes yang telah diinduksi alloksan dibagi menjadi enam kelompok dan diobati dengan metformin, perasan jahe, kombinasi perasan jahe dan metformin 1x1 dan  kombinasi perasan jahe dan metformin 2x1 selama empat hari. Kadar glukosa darah di ukur sebelum dan sesudah pengobatan selama empat hari berturut-turut. Data berat badan yang didapatkan menunjukkan terjadi penurunan berat badan namun tidak signifikan (p>0,05) Nilai signifikansi perubahan kadar glukosa darah saat dianalisis menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dengan nilai (p<0,05). Untuk, index organ hati dan lambung yang diberi perlakuan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dengan nilai (p<0,05). Degenerasi pada sel hepar berkurang saat diobati dengan perasan jahe, maupun kombinasi perasan jahe dengan metformin. Penggunaan jahe dengan metformin sekali sehari dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah tanpa menimbulkan resiko hipoglikemik dan degenerasi sel hepar
