Optimasi Polivinilalkohol (PVA) Sebagai Basis Sediaan Gel Antijerawat
The gel is one of the preparations that are considered suitable for skin conditions with excessive sebaceous gland function. Polyvinylalcohol (PVA) is one of the gelling agents that can from a layer or film that is very strong and plastic to give good contact between the drug and the skin. This study aims to find the best concentration of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) as a gel base. Each formula was made using four variations of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) concentrations of 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% and tested the physical properties that include organoleptic test, pH, homogeneity, spreadability, and viscosity. The results showed that the optimum of base formula contains a concentration of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) base of 6% and 8%
Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Etanol Daun Andong Merah terhadap Eschericia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus
Infection disease is one of the most common diseases in the world. Infection can be caused by bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus which are now resistant to some antibiotics, so new agents are needed to overcome antibiotic resistance. Red andong leaves are empirically efficacious for treating wounds, hemorrhoids, inflammation, diarrhea and stopping bleeding (hemostasis). This study aims to determine the yield of ethanol extracts red andong leaves and determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of red andong leaves against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The research began with the process of extracting red andong leaves by maceration method, then carried out antibacterial testing by the well diffusion method. The results showed the extract concentrations of 10%, 30%, and 50% were able to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The biggest antibacterial activity of red andong extract was obtained at a concentration of 50% with a inhibition zone of 17,836 mm (Staphylococcus aureus) and 9,012 mm (Escherichia coli)

Aktivitas Antioksidan Tanaman Artocarpus
Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit or prevent the formation of free radicals, so they areimportant for consumption. Artocarpus genus plants are known as plants in the tropics, so it isnecessary to know their antioxidant activity. The investigation of antioxidant activity was carried outusing pubmed, google scholar, and science direct. The results of the investigation of antioxidant activityin 50 species of Artocarpus showed that 6 species had antioxidant activity, with very strong antioxidantcategories (Artocarpus anisophyllus 34.58 ppm, Artocarpus chaplasa 10 μg/ml, and Artocarpusheterophyllus 35.57 ppm) and strong antioxidants (Artocarpus altilis 66.243 ppm, Artocarpus lakoocha55.86 ppm, and Artocarpus communis 54.6 ppm)
Ekstraksi Polifenol Total dari Herba Suruhan (Pepperomia pellucida (L)Kunth.) menggunakan Malic Acid-Glucose Based Microwave Assisted Extraction
This study aims to determine the effect of the use of malic acid-glucose based microwave assited extraction (MAE) methods on total polyphenol extraction from suruhan herbs (Pepperomia pellucida (L) Kunth.). Samples that have been dried in the extraction using solvents (green solvent) Malic Acid-Glucose with a ratio of 1: 2, 1:3 and 1: 4 g/g in several conditions including, microwave strength 30% for 5 minutes with a sample ratio and a solvent of 1:14 g/mL. Then the extract solution obtained was measured in total polyphenol levels using the folin ciocalteu (FC) reagent and the absorbance was measured at a wavelength of 658 nm using a UV-vis spectrophotometer. Based on the results of the study obtained levels of polyphenols from each condition of the solvent used is 85 mg GAE/g sample (1 : 2 g/g solvent), 696 mg GAE/ g sample (1:3 g / g solvent) and 317 mg GAE /g sample (1: 4 g / g solvent). From this study it can be concluded that the method of malic acid-glucose based microwave assited extraction can be used to extract polyphenol compounds from Suruhan herbs quickly, easily and efficiently
Observasi Klinik Pemberian Jus Buah Naga Merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) dan Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava) Terhadap Peningkatan Kadar Hemoglobin Wanita MenstruasiAuthors
Anemia is a condition when the blood hemoglobin level is less than normal because to iron deficiency. Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and guava (Psidium guajava) are sources of iron which can increase blood hemoglobin levels. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of dragon fruit juice and guava juice on increasing blood hemoglobin levels for menstruating women. The design of this research was Quasy Experimental Pre-Post Design which was conducted in two test groups. The first grup was given dragon fruit juice and the second group was given guava juice. Sampling was determined by purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The hemoglobine level was using the Easy Touch GCHB tool and analyzed by the Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that the effect of dragon fruit and guava juice on the hemoglobin level of menstruating women before the intervention in first group test was 11.5 g / dl, second group test was 10.5 g / dl and after the intervention the average was 13.6 g / dl and 13.5 g / dl. Based on the results of the Paired Sample T-Test statistical analysis which has a p value <0.05, it shows that dragon fruit juice and guava are able to significantly increase the hemoglobin levels of menstruating women
Kajian Literatur Mengenai Tingkat Keamanan Tanaman Kelor (Moringa Oleifera L.) dari Hasil Uji Toksisitas Akut dan Subkronis
Kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) merupakan tanaman yang kaya nutrisi dan bermanfaat bagi manusia. Kandungan nutrisi kelor tersebar ke seluruh bagian tanaman dari daun, kulit batang, bunga, biji, hingga akar yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengobatan penyakit maupun kekurangan nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat keamanan tanaman kelor dari hasil uji toksisitas akut dan subkronis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kajian literatur dengan cara mengambil original artikel melalui search egine google scholar tanaman kelor dengan range tahun 2011-2020 kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil kajian literatur menunjukkn bahwa tanaman kelor bagian daun, kulit batang, dan akar pada uji toksisitas akut menggunakan tikus dan mencit didapatkan hasil bahwa nilai LD50 pada akar 15,9-17,8 g/kg, pada daun >3000 mg/kg,dan pada kulit batang praktis tidak toksik dalam dosis tunggal, kemudian untuk uji toksisitas sub-kronik menggunakan tikus didapatkan hasil bahwa relatif aman digunakan, namun perlu didiperhatikan jika digunakan dalam waktu yang lama, kemudian pada parameter tes hematologi, kreatinin, dan urea tidak terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan dengan nilai p tidak lebih dari 0,05 (p?0,05) dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil mengkaji data uji toksisitas akut dan sub-kronik dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanaman kelor praktis tidak toksik dan relatif aman digunakan, namun jika digunakan dalam jangka panjang perlu diperhatikan
Kajian Literatur Toksisitas Tanaman Ruku-Ruku (Ocimum sanctum L.)
Tanaman ruku-ruku merupakan tanaman yang memiliki berbagai manfaat dan khasiat bagi kesehatan. Seluruh bagian tanaman ruku-ruku dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi berbagai macam penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keamanan tanaman ruku-ruku dari hasil uji toksisitas umum maupun khusus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah dengan mengkaji literatur yang diperoleh melalui google scholar dan pubmed dari tahun 2002-2020 kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun maupun seluruh bagian tanaman ruku-ruku untuk toksisitas akut ialah relatif tidak membahayakan dengan nilai LD50 >7g/kgBB terhadap mencit dan >15g/kgBB terhadap tikus. Untuk toksisitas sub-akut dinyatakan aman karena tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap berat badan, parameter hematologi, dan biokimia serta histopatologi jaringan (hati, ginjal, limpa, jantung, dan testis/ovarium). Toksisitas khusus untuk uji reproduksi tidak memiliki efek yang merugikan terhadap sistem reproduksi hewan coba termasuk total kelahiran, rasio jenis kelamin, dan jumlah anak yang hidup pada hari ke-0 dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol, indeks kesuburan hewan coba betina, fekunditas, dan kehamilan serta indeks kesuburan hewan coba jantan. Berdasarkan hasil uji toksisitas umum dan khusus, tanaman ruku-ruku dinyatakan aman dan tidak memiliki efek yang merugikan bagi tubuh
Pengaruh Pemberian Madu terhadap Kolesterol Total
Honey contains Vitamin C which is a natural antioxidant which can have the effect of lowering total cholesterol levels in the blood. This study aims to determine the characteristics of gender, age, and occupation of hypercholesterolemic respondents and to determine the effect of honey administration on reducing total cholesterol levels of hypercholesterolemic respondents in Palaran District, Samarinda. The research method used is quasy experimental and research procedures by measuring before and after being given treatment. Data collection on the characteristics of respondents obtained the highest percentage of women as much as 80%, age 46-55 years as much as 40%, and housewives as much as 75%. The results of descriptive analysis of total cholesterol levels in the pre-test gave an average result of 224.9 mg / dL and the post-test gave an average result of 202.1 mg / dL. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that honey can have an effect on reducing total cholesterol levels in the blood
Studi Literatur: Skrining Fitokimia dan Aktivitas Farmakologi Tanaman Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam)
Indonesia has a wide variety of plants that can be used as medicinal ingredients. Biodiversity in Indonesia has a lot of potential as medicine so that it needs to be further explored regarding its properties for health. Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam) belongs to the genus Moringaceae. Moringa plants have been widely used by the community as an herbal treatment to treat various diseases. The purpose of this study was to collect information related to phytochemical compounds and pharmacological activities of moringa plants using literature study methods. Literature search using appropriate keywords online using national and international indexed databases for the last 10 years (2010 to 2020). Based on the 18 literature that has been collected, the results obtained are chemical compounds identified in Moringa plants, including Alkaloids, Flavonoids, Saponins, Triterpenoids, Tannins, and Steroids. While the pharmacological activities found in moringa are antioxidant, anti-hyperuricemic, analgesic, anti-cancer, antihyperglycemic, anti-inflammatory, antihyperlipidemic, and antimicrobial activities
