Structured Assessment on Learning Progress
This paper presented a novel technique and practice of the assessment of learning progress of university students in an engineering discipline. Instead of measuring the effectiveness of accumulation of specific knowledge, the newly developed assessment technique evaluates the development of the intelligence of the students. The key components of the proposed technique are a performance-based method for the estimation of the intelligence level and a cognitive mental faculty-oriented decomposition method to determine the intelligence contribution factors for learning subjects and exam questions. The proposed technique was applied to assess the learning progress of a group of university students in the field of automation, and the results from test agreed with the expectation well
Physiology and morphology of rice plants with silicon supplementation and Dietholate seed treatment under water deficit
Silicon is an enzyme stimulator that promotes signaling for the production of antioxidant, osmoprotective compounds and attenuates interference in photosynthesis in rice plants subjected to water deficit. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible effects of silicon as a stress reliever in rice plants grown from seeds treated with dietholate under of water deficit conditions. The experimental design was fully randomized with three replicates, 144 experimental units consisting of pots containing 4.4 pounds soil, and a 3x2x2x4 factorial arrangement: three soil water conditions (50% and 100% of soil water retention capacity and water blade of 5.0 cm); two cultivars (IRGA 424 RI and Guri INTA CL); two sources of Si (sodium and potassium metasilicate); and four Si rates (0; 4.0; 8.0 and 16 g L-1). Silicon boosted stomatal density; induced an increase in the maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II (PSII) under both water deficit and optimal conditions, boosting photosynthesis; and increased effective quantum yield of PSII and levels of total dry mass. Thus, silicon attenuated the effects of water deficit in plants grown from seeds treated with dietholate

In the current scenario caused by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, biosafety practices in the cleaning of surfaces, equipment and accessories used in aesthetic care are essential to ensure the health of professionals and clients who attend the health, beauty, and wellness segments. In view of the importance of preserving and preparing the work environment for safe attendance, issues related to procedures, materials and processes for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing equipment and accessories used in aesthetic environments according to the degree of criticality have been elucidated
The Educational Counselor as one of the inclusive action facilitators in the school
The Educational Counselor is one of the professionals in the school management team. His role is to be the relationship mediator in every situation in school (student-student, student-teachers, teachers-families, and school-families). This research aimed at discussing the Educational Counselor as one of the facilitating agents for the articulation of inclusive actions in a school environment through an interdisciplinary perspective. To achieve this target a qualitative study was chosen. Nine Educational Counselor have been interviewed, and the generated data were evaluated through content analysis. The results have shown that although the research participants have difficulty conceptualizing school inclusion, they understand the idea of school inclusion as necessary to develop the subjects’ potential. They also have shown that there is no effective inclusion of students with disabilities, and they have pointed out that, although the institution can offer the necessary resources for inclusive practice, and even continuing education, there is still a long way to go before school inclusion happens. Regarding health issues, the Educational Counselor’ statements have shown a belief in the importance of training in a school environment, but they often seem to forget that the school is a space for education and not for health. We have been taught that professionals who are willing to work with inclusion need continued training to improve their practices, which, despite being recent, are significant and produce paradigm shifts about what they have believed to be inclusive practice
Revisiting school culture: The school’s role in the improvement of the socio-emotional skills of children during covid- 19 pandemic
Since the abrupt change in learning mode last March 2020, schools’ administrators have been looking for ways to somehow alleviate the stress and anxiety the children have to face using the online study mode. One of the things the school management tries to address is the development of Social-Emotional Skills in children amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
This paper seeks to analyze and bridge the gap on the roles of the schools in nurturing the Socio-Emotional Development of Children during the outbreak of the disease. Using Literature Review Method, this study is going to highlight key roles of the school leaders and educators in their tasks to help children strengthen their coping mechanism. It shall also discuss the importance of nourishing the socio-emotional skills of the children now that schools are adopting the Distance Learning. Moreover, it will present possible strategies to foster a school culture geared toward the safety and improvement of the child’s socio-emotional skills
Prime numbers demystified
The paper is the ultimate prime numbers algorithm that gets rid of the unneccessary mystery about prime numbers. All the numerous arithmetic series patterns observed between various prime numbers are clearly explained with an elegant "pattern of remainders". With this algorithm we prove that odd numbers too can make an Ulam spiral contrary to current ""proofs". At the end of the paper this author proves the relationship between a simple arithmetic series pattern and the Riehmann\u27s prime numbers distribution equation. This paper would be important for encryption too. As an example, prime integer 1979 is expressed as 1.2.4.5.10.3.7.3.1.7.26.18.11.1. This makes even smaller primes useful for encryption as well
Classification of the comorbid symptomatic groups on autism spectrum disorder diagnosis
A total of 126 people with a nuclear diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) participated in this study, corresponding to Galicia Community (Spain), found through survey regarding significantly more common symptoms related this disorder nuclear diagnosis. Hence, main aim is delimiting symptoms symptomatic groups that co-occur to each other, regarding basic diagnosis of ASD, in order elaborate predictive processes of comorbid recurrence along ASD diagnosis and develop the related psycho- educational approach.
Data analysis, achieved throughout CLUSTER K-MEDIAS test of SPSS statistic, 23 version, allowed conclude there´s an interaction of symptoms recurrent themselves, which let conclude a classification of 3 symptomatic groups that make up basic comorbidity of ASD diagnosis: 1) group I, formed by epilepsy (2.00) and severe cognitive deficit (1.86) interaction, 2) II group, with significant interrelated scores in schizotypal features (.82) and anxiety processes (.77), and 3) III group, characterized by interaction between motor tics (1.92), cognitive deficit (1.54), hypersensitivity (1.23) and severe behavior problems (1.38).
It´s possible conclude these symptomatic groups are predictors variables of comorbidity associated with ASD to carry out effective psycho- social- educational implementation to people with ASD
Efficient use of the Generators for the Environmental Economic Dispatch from the energy system, including solar photovoltaic generation
The classic Economic Dispatch (ED) problem considers only the cost of power generation by thermal generators, often disregarding the safety parameters of the electrical network, environmental costs and especially the importance of predictive maintenance of the generators, when considering environmental costs in the optimization of ED this becomes a multi-objective problem Environmental Economic Dispatch (EED). Considering the global pressure to reduce emissions of pollutants in the atmosphere and environmental sustainability, incorporating the generation of Renewable Energies (RE) or Green Energy in the electricity grid is indispensable. Solar energy is becoming an important part of the power generation portfolio in many regions due to the fast decline in its costs and political incentives that favor the generation of clean energy sources. This article uses the Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) method to solve the problem and EED restricted to the grid in a hybrid system (thermoelectric and photovoltaic). The results of the optimization problem were simulated in MATLAB. This research included 01 thermoelectric with 06 generators and 13 solar plants
Making the ecological brick using powder residues of Ceramic Tiles
The residues generated by the ceramic factories, among the most varied types, represent a large part of the waste produced and the one that comes from the production of red ceramics such as tiles and bricks, reflects in great part of all the constituents of these residues. The use of tailings is becoming an increasingly common practice, often because it does not have a correct final destination and in some places, there is a shortage of natural materials. The present work aims to study the addition of residues of ceramic tiles dust in the characteristics and properties of ecological brick. A literature review on the topic was carried out, in addition to granulometric characterizations, absorption tests, thermal comfort and simple compression. After carrying out the tests, the possibility of using it as a component of the ecological brick and using it in the region of Teresina-PI was studied. The samples produced with tile powder residue showed excellent results, therefore, through this study it was possible to prove that the reuse of these residues is valid for use in civil construction
Computer Tutorials and Drill-Practice Strategies on Senior Science Students\u27 Academic Achievement on Energy Transformation in Nature, Uyo, Nigeria
The study used computer tutorial and drill- practice strategies to investigate students\u27 achievement on energy transformation in nature, Uyo, Nigeria. The study was guided by three research questions and three hypotheses. Quasi-experimental design of non-randomized pretest, posttest control group was used for the study. Population was all 2,629 senior secondary two students and sample size was 210 science students selected from three secondary schools in their intact classes using purposive sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was Achievement Test. Three lecturers of test, measurement and evaluation in Science Education did instrument validation. Reliability index was .85 obtained using Kuder-Richardson Formulae-21. Data analysis for research questions used mean and standard deviation and ANCOVA for hypotheses formulated at .05 significant level. Findings revealed that students taught computer tutorial achieved and retained higher than those taught with computer drill-practice and lecture methods. Gender is a non-significant factor in academic achievement of students. The findings concluded that, computer tutorial enhances students\u27 academic achievement in energy transformation in nature. The study recommends that teachers of science embrace computer tutorial and drill-practice strategies in teaching science concepts
