Discourse Analysis On Physical Activity For People With Disabilities
Get PDFThe subject discussed refers to the importance of physical activity for people with disabilities, both in physical and psychological aspects. The general objective of this work is to identify the relationship of the person with disability to the sport, as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution, giving the person with disability the right to the sport. As a specific objective, to analyze through journalistic texts what is the perception of the person with disability in face of his/her limitations. The methodology used will be an analytical approach, together with bibliographic and documentary research. The relevance for the study of this theme is the look at the person with disability, which is often forgotten by the public power, or pre-judged by the society that most of the times does not know the concept of disability, or when they come across it, they do not know how to act or how to treat a person with disability. Maybe because they don\u27t even know how they think according to their current life condition, as to the difficulties, as to the accessibility, as to the expectations, as to the way they are seen or treated by society. This raises a question: How are people with disabilities treated by society and public authorities? Are their rights being respected? This answer can be traced back to a critical analysis of a person with disability\u27s discourse
Ten golden lessons from Republic of China (Taiwan), the best country to save lives during 300 days battle against Covid-19
Get PDFAlmost 1.81 million lives were officially lost by Covid-19 (WORLDOMETERS, 2020) until last 31thDecember 2020. It was one year with intense global battle against the pandemic, with most countries eagle to learn from benchmark nations able to save lives. A new methodology developed by Silva (2020b), with fifteen phases, showed that among 108 well-evaluated countries, the top six benchmark countries are from Asia with emphasis on Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand. To complement Silva (2020b) study, this article aims to investigate the performance and the best management practices adopted in Taiwan to save lives, during the first 300 days facing the pandemic. The research is descriptive, uses an online questionnaire with bibliographic and documentary approaches. The Fatality Total Index (FTI) developed by Silva (2020b p. 563) was used to compare Taiwan performance against 43 finalist countries. Some results are: 1) Taiwan`s FTI300 is the lowest (0,0020), confirming that the National Government has learned from the past, and is able to integrate and support main actors of the nation to prevent, prepare and fight against the Covid-19; 2) for 109 respondents living in Taiwan, the ten main policy measures adopted by the National Government that saved lives against the virus are: international travel control (78%), effective public-private collaboration (61%), public information campaigns (52%), integration with mass media (51%), increase the medical and personal equipment capacity (49%), combat fake news (47%), public event cancellations (45%), improve intensive care unit structure (28%), support the expansion of the testing system (20%), and schools closures (16%). At the final, ten golden lessons are described, most of them from the 225 policies, measures, programs, projects, strategies, and innovative products or services identified in Taiwan, with the majority led by Public Sector (56%), Corporations (29%), followed by Others (6%), Start Up (4%) and Universities (4%)
People, culture and civilization: Tropicalism as resistance to military dictatorship
Get PDFThe political and economic crises faced today, evidenced by the manifestos of political parties and the texts published in social networks and in the press, point to Brazilian society the possibility of different directions, including that of an autocratic regime, with the return of the military to the public sphere. This article discusses the movements of acceptance and resistance to the military regime that was implemented in Brazil with the coup of 1964. It is observed that the military uprising received at that time the support of a large part of the Brazilian population, which sought ways to maintain its socioeconomic status to the detriment of a majority that perceived itself vulnerable in view of the forms of maintenance and expansion of power used by the regime. In this context, Tropicalism emerges as an example of a contesting movement. This text approaches the song "Culture and civilization" by Gilberto Gil, performed by Gal Costa, relating the ideas present in this composition with the understandings of politics and culture, in a multidisciplinary proposal, seeking to understand the resistance and counter-resistance movements that emerged in Brazil at the time
Basic Sanitation and Health - Challenges and Perspectives in Brazil and Brazilian Federal District
Get PDFBasic sanitation has been considered an important environmental determinant of health. Mainly related to the services of drinking water availability, solid waste management, sanitation problems are aggravated by the unplanned growth of urban centers, affecting an important part of the total disease burden in the world. The Sanitation Ranking prepared by the Trata Brazil Institute (2020) was used as the basis for the studies presented here taking into account the data from the SNIS (National Sanitation Information System – Ministry of Regional Development, Brazil), which were consulted for the 100 largest Brazilian municipalities, in terms of inhabitants, in the year 2018. 27 out of the 100 largest municipalities in Brazil have 100% total water service, that is, they have universal water service. Only one municipality has 100% sewage collection (Piracicaba –SP). 14 municipalities have a sewage collection rate greater than or equal to 98%. The average indicator of sewage treatment in the municipalities is 56.07%, that is very worrying. According to SNIS 2018, the national average for the treatment of generated sewage is 46.3%; that is, the average of the 100 largest municipalities in the study is higher than the national average. However, in both cases, the indicator is at a very low level, pointing to an area whose challenges to be overcome are great. The Brazilian capital’ city (Brasilia, Federal District of Brazil) in the sanitation is ranked 27th among Brazilian capitals based on data from the National Sanitation Information System (2018). The new Basic Sanitation Legal Framework, signed on July 15, 2020 has as its main objective to universalize and qualify the provision of services in the sector. The Federal Government’s goal is to achieve universal access by 2033, ensuring that 99% of the Brazilian population has access to drinking water and 90% to sewage collection and treatment. The expectation is that the universalization of water and sewage services will reduce annual health costs by up to 290 million USD
An authentication for group communications in AD-HOC networks
Get PDFGroup communication implies a many-to-many communication and it goes beyond both one-to-one communication (i.e., unicast) and one-to-many communication (i.e., multicast). Unlike most user authentication protocols that authenticate a single user each time, we propose a new type of authentication, called group authentication that authenticates all users in a group at once. The group authentication protocol is specially designed to support group communications. There is a group manager who is responsible to manage the group communication. During registration, each user of a group obtains an unique token from the group manager. Users present their tokens to determine whether they all belong to the same group or not. The group authentication protocol allows users to reuse their tokens without compromising the security of tokens. In addition, the group authentication can protect the identity of each user
Ecologizing knowledge, reverbering for teaching being-doing in (post) pandemic times
Get PDFWe present results of a study about the challenges of teaching practice in the context of the pandemic that we lived in 2020. We take complex thinking as the guiding thread to ecologize knowledge and establish relationships and reflections with the voices of female and male teachers in the basic education network that worked with this scenario. In this context, ecologize has the meaning of knowing oneself and the other, based on conceptual pluralities and valuing life. The methodological path was inspired in Bernard Charlot\u27s methodological instrument (2009) for the generation and understanding of the voices of female and male teachers who lived the investigated daily life. The aforementioned instrument, called “balances of knowledge”, allowed the analysis of the data generated, which is represented in a picture, a word cloud where the meanings of being and teaching in the path of the year of the pandemic lived are, the main voices being expressed: ecologize, emergency, digital technology, learning, feelings, meaningful, innovation, learning, fabrics, possibilities and transformation. The interconnections between these voices and the theoretical concepts outlined in the study reverberate movements towards the knowledge of the self, giving meaning, with activation of complex thought networks, that the image of the figures that we present may signal new ways to face the challenges of the situations experienced
A propositive contribution to the mitigation of the credit problem on Brazilian solidarity economy enterprises
Get PDFThe biggest impediment to the viability of Solidarity Economy Enterprises (SEE) is the credit issue, which due to lack of guarantees means that they cannot access credit through traditional banking channels and end up failing. In view of this unfavorable scenario, the objective of this work is to make a propositive contribution, evidencing elements that are useful to enterprises of solidarity economy in relation to obtaining credit. To do so, it relied on bibliographic research to link these factors, highlighting those that can be controlled by the SEE, as well as those external so that the credit assignment occurs, which resulted in the elaboration of a propositive instrument, with elements that facilitate the assignment of credits both in the user\u27s view and in the institutional view. Its usefulness could be verified with a field research, conducted with 25 solidarity economy enterprises, which answered a questionnaire informing whether the existence of such an instrument would help in reducing the difficulties of obtaining credit, as well as being able to contribute with eventual adjustments
Self-regulation and Self-identity Changes among Iranian EFL Learners
Get PDFThe present study aims to investigate the probable association between self-regulated strategies and self-identity changes among Iranian EFL learners. To achieve this purpose, 80 EFL students were selected according to convenience sampling from different language institutes in Mashhad. They were requested to complete the \u27 Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaires\u27 (MSLQ) and \u27Self-identity Changes\u27 questionnaires. The findings yielded via correlation supported the theoretical expectation of a linkage between self-regulation and self-identity changes. The result revealed that there is a significant relationship between teachers\u27 self-regulation high scores and self-confidence changes. Subsequent data from step-wise regression indicated that among sub-components of self-regulation, regulation, efficacy, and intrinsic value are the best predictors of learners\u27 self-confidence changes. The conclusions and implications of the research are further discussed with reference to earlier finding

The founded solution follows the Delta architecture and it was called Delta MAPL. This paper will summarize all important definitions and knowledge to build a 3D printer such as, 3D printers technologies and architectures, expose the developed project involving mechanic and electric project, project cost, programming and slicer, calibration, printing parameters, and will also expose de results through implementation of the project, 3D printing tests, and also the documentation with all design parts, codes and printing parameters. Therefore, 3D printer is very useful and involving many fields of Mechanical Engineering knowledge, thus 3D printing develops not only knowledge in mechanic, electric, sensors and actuators and material properties, but also creativity and problem-solving that are so important for all engineering students
Factors that contribute to the success of the brand in the international market

Therefore, it is a constant process that takes place in several stages and that can considerably increase the gains obtained from the company’s operations regardless of its size. In this article, the objective was to analyze the factors that contribute to the establishment of national brands in the international market. For this purpose, the methodology adopted was a literary research involving a bibliographical survey. It was concluded that for the brand’s internationalization process to be successful, the company must adopt a correct international market entry strategy, because this is considered an important step that can leverage the company in the future.
