Theory and literary text: considerations about the tale “Venha ver o pôr do sol”
This article aims to analyze the short story Venha ver o pôr do sol, by Lygia Fagundes Telles, in order to understand how the compositional aspects of narrative contribute to the meaning of the text. Based on researches of authors like Saraiva, Eagleton, Salvatore D’Onofrio, Lygia Leite and Dino Del Pino, this study proposes a relation between literature and representation, presents the concept of narrative and, from its compositional aspects, analyzes the story, making inferences about the context. Therefore, it can be seen that the proper analysis of the aspects from the text allows for relevant reflections about its content
Lessons Learned from Health Care Students Playing Victim in Mass Casualty Incident Disaster Drill
Purpose To educate health care students on the importance of emergency preparedness and disaster response training related to self-confidence and critical thinking needed when caring for victims of mass casualty incidents (MCI).
Method A mixed-method design was employed. A post intervention-survey was administered to radiologic sciences and nursing students following their participation in a full-scale mass casualty disaster drill scenario. The quantitative data are presented as descriptive statistics along with Bowker’s Test of Symmetry. The open-ended questions were analyzed for patterns of similarity and differences among student responses. Several questions asked participants to evaluate their perceived knowledge and confidence before and after their participation in the MCI simulation.
Results Data demonstrated that participants were made aware of their limited knowledge concerning necessary patient care skills needed during an MCI. In comparing the students’ willingness to care for MCI patients before the mock drill to after the mock drill, the students’ willingness increased and was statistically significant as indicated by a Bowker’s Test of Symmetry. Similarly, in comparing the students’ perceived confidence of their patient care skills before and after the mock drill, the participant\u27s confidence level increased and was statistically significant as indicated by a second Bowker’s Test.
Discussion Participants gained new knowledge of how community partners work together in response to an MCI event and the different roles each play. Additional take-away lessons revealed an increase in patient empathy. Both qualitative and quantitative questions highlight the students’ emotions and behavioral reactions as a result of acting as a trauma patient in the disaster drill.
Conclusion The full-scale disaster drill was an effective tool in educating health care students of the diverse emergency operations that take place following a disaster and what is required to save lives
Second Residence and Appropriation Process: Relations Between Subjects and Beach Houses
Balneario Rincão (State of Santa Catarina, Brazil) has been undergoing a major urbanization process due to the growing demand of the population for beaches in summer seasons. In this sense, this work analyzed the phenomenon of the second residence through the relationship of the subjects with their beach houses. The research is qualitative, exploratory, with semi-structured interviews and unsystematic observation. Eleven middle-class individuals aged 27-72 years participated in the study. The process of appropriation of the second residences was analyzed through the concepts of identification, personification, cultivation, sense of belonging, essential place and identity of the place. It was found that the subjects take ownership of the second residence and its use is strongly related to sociability and family and also to moments of leisure that often do not have in their primary residences in urban centers

The Common national curriculum base and the challenges found in the initial training of teachers
The present study aims to analyze how the literature perceives the National Curricular Common Base and how fundamental its approach is in the initial training of teachers, since it is noticeable that there are many professionals unprepared in relation to the use of this document. For this purpose, the methodology of literature review and document analysis was used, and is based on documents, articles and books, which address the BNCC and teacher training throughout Brazil. It was considered through the literature that these challenges happen as a result of the poor training of teachers, which according to the literature should be changed, given that teachers in their training must have at least basic knowledge
Ecodesign in the use of the Amazonian Peãozinho wood for making an eco-efficient product
In the midst of the current logging scenario and the growing concerns and actions in favor of preserving the environment, research related to the insertion of new tree species in the market and about the design of products with low environmental impact are of paramount importance for the development of forest management and product design activities. Thus, The holistic view, which includes everything from the extraction of the raw material to the final disposal of the product, guided this research in order to show the technological potential of the species Micrandopsis scleroxylon W. Rodr. through machining and validation processes by making an eco-efficient product. The methodology adopted was: survey of the demand, designing of the concept, definition of the function, generation and materialization of alternatives, tests and refinements and presentation of the final solution. The results obtained in the process of machining the wooden material of the species were excellent throughout the process. It is believed that the approach inherent to small diameter trees, for the benefit of forest management, provides the understanding that it is possible to make use of them in the manufacture of the most varied wooden artifacts. Contributing to further research on Little Known Species

Media Bios and Artificial Intelligence: the dark side of Fake News
With a bibliographic nature and a qualitative approach, this work aims to discuss, through a literature review, the concept of fake news and its influence and effects on youth political formation. The article addresses the concept of fake news and its classification, based on the ideas of media bios and mediatization brought by Sodré, as well as a reflection on the developments of artificial intelligence technologies linked to the production and dissemination of fake news. In addition, a discussion is carried out on the role played by fake news in the political formation of subjects, considering the different forms of political participation and socialization, especially with the development of digital media and social networks. The results suggest that the debate about the political formation of subjects represents the expression of new social paradigms in the face of the structure of the production and dissemination of so-called fake news in the political field. It is considered that the processes of political formation and participation today have taken place in a terrain where disinformation is a great threat to democracy and one of the challenges that emerge from this conjecture is to preserve freedom of expression and, at the same time, prevent that the trinkin compromises democracy
Three Decades of Communities of Practice Conceptualization: Revisiting the foundations of Lave and Wenger\u27s constructs and their impact on contemporary learning theory
This article aims to identify the key authors and the theoretical foundations’ delineation of Lave and Wenger’s concept of Communities of Practice (CoPs) and its relationship with the learning theory. This exploratory and descriptive study applied a qualitative approach and bibliographic research based on Lave and Wenger’s (1991) publication “Situated Learning: Legitimate Peripheral Participation”.
