    Social inequalities and youth: racial issues under reflection

    The struggle against social inequalities in Brazil has been the center of analysis in several areas of knowledge. Scholars, public managers, researchers, and public policymakers strive to diagnose and implement measures to reduce inequalities in the Brazilian context. Among the multiple forms of manifestation of such inequalities, the social markers of gender, race, and social class are the most investigated. However, color or race occupies a central space in most of the debates given the process of the socio-historical constitution of Brazil. In this debate, besides the aspects that are related to the Brazilian development process characteristics, whose dynamics have produced erasures and silencing throughout the country\u27s history, black youth are among those included. As a consequence, the partial inclusion of the black, brown, or indigenous populations in this process has translated into higher levels of economic and social vulnerability, with greater incidence in some communities. The present reflection analyzes the impact of the social racial marker among the black Brazilian youth. The bibliographical-investigative methodological procedure is used

    Biogenic Synthesis and antibiofilm efficacy of iron nanoparticles via computer simulation

    The search for new drugs can be accelerated by in silico methods, i.e., fully computational methods known for their speed and low cost, allowing the analysis of a large amount of data, e.g., thousands of possible antimicrobials, in a few weeks. Molecular docking and first-principles calculations are great allies in this quest. They enable the assessment of protein-ligand interactions and can predict interactions between NPs and macromolecules to provide more information about the interactions and dynamics of NPs in biological systems. In this context, this work aims to use in silico methods to detect the formation of biogenic metallic nanoparticles from functional microalgal biomolecules of the genus Chlorella, which have chelation of metal ions as a fundamental property, and to verify the possible antibacterial biofilm efficacy using computational tools such as molecular docking. In a first analysis, it was found that the iron salt FeSO4 was the most suitable to bind the microalgal enzyme and produce its phytochelatin protein. Following this result, an analysis of the electronic structure of the phytochelatin complex with the iron salt was carried out, proving its structural modification at the nanometric level, after which an analysis of its therapeutic effect on antibiofilm activity was performed. S. aureus, a bacterium known for its multiresistant to antibiotics, these results demonstrate, through alternative in silico methods, the physiological role of phytochelatin from microalgae in the detoxification and bioremediation of metallic contaminants

    Epidemiological data of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the municipality of Gurupi, Tocantins

    According to the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 is a viral disease transmitted from person to person, which has the fastest spread in the world. OBJECTIVE: This project aimed to analyze epidemiological aspects of COVID-19 in the municipality of Gurupi/TO. METHODOLOGY: The research was conducted by consulting the epidemiological bulletin of COVID-19 made available daily by VISAE, from March 16, 2020, to May 15, 2021, where we identified the evolution of positive cases, deaths, and gender identification of this population, and analysis of literature review on the subject. RESULTS: Of the 10,336 positive cases, 5,570 (53.89%) of the cases are female, 194 (7.13%) evolved to deaths, of these 70 (36.08%) were female and 124 (63.92%) were male. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: From the results, it is visible the reduction in the numbers of positive cases for COVID-19 from April 2021, which can be taken into consideration the measures adopted through the Municipal Decrees, and in part to the beginning of the immunization process. Thus, the continuity of prophylaxis measures is essential for the control of the high chain of transmission in the municipality

    Post-modernity configures as the time marked by the valorization and cult of the body, focused on aesthetics and narcissistic standards of youth and beauty that emphasize egalitarian stereotypes to all individuals. The body, published in the media as a symbolic product of success, takes its place on the social front. Thus, the body appears overvalued, becoming an idealized target of unattainable perfection, through the excessive appreciation of thinness, attempts to delay the natural aging process, through aesthetic procedures, and the incessant search to fit in dictated beauty standards culturally.     Action of cyanogenic substances and magnetic field in the reduction of neoplasms: An integrative literature review

    Cancer treatment has been constantly improved to cause the least possible harm to the patient. New therapies are being researched, many of them having as object of scientific-academic and pharmacological research the use of cyanogenic plants and their antitumor chemical compounds that can bring benefits to human health, having the potential to be associated with the magnetic Field and thus achieve a better benefit and with reduced adverse effects in cancer treatment. This study aimed to review the effect of cyanogenic substances and magnetic Field on tumor evolution in the literature. The integrative review of the literature was carried out in the databases EMBASE, PUBMED, LILACS, VHL, SCOPUS and MEDLINE. A final sample of 14 scientific articles, published from 2011 to 2020, was obtained, highlighting that cyanogenic substances and the magnetic Field can help reduce tumors. The most common studies were on the magnetic Field, and the studies were carried out mainly in vitro, with a frequency of 50 Hz that stood out from the others. Among the cyanogenic substances, the most prevalent was tonsillin, with the most used dosage of 10mg / ml. It was possible to conclude that both the magnetic Field and cyanogenic substances can reduce tumors

    Male homosexual trainee students vigilated in a Center of Childhood Education

    In this paper, we analyzed the discourse of homosexual trainee students, in a Center of Childhood Education, in Brazil. Theoretical references, in the field of educational studies, gender and diversity, were used to execute the investigation. It is a qualitative research based on the method of case study. We verified that in this context, the presence of homosexuals pressure the relations of gender in the field of childhood education, challenging the deconstruction of models of men who are not able to take care of children. It is considered important the discussion about gender, teaching and sexual diversity, both in the initial education as in the in-service training of the professionals working in this area, looking forward to the paradigm of an inclusive, democratic and citizen education

    Methods of Finite Differences in the Domain of Time Applied to the Equation of Heat Biotransfer in Ocular Tissues

    This article presents a methodology for two-dimensional modeling of the human eye to analyze the heat transfer in biological tissues, in this case, ocular tissues. The technique used was the finite differences method in the time domain. With a proposal for a numerical simulation of the problem, see that this type of work aims to promote the development of tools that help detect errors in biomedical engineering. Several medical procedures, including surgical ones that use laser, whose main limiting factor is the increase in temperature in living tissue, a fact that can cause irreversible damage, even evaporating. For example, refractive eye surgery using a laser. The simulation is intended to calculate the temperature gradient to guide the physician more precisely before an intervention. An example of this is certain types of inoperable tumors that can be irradiated with laser sources. Their function is to cause a rise in local temperature to destroy cancer cells without thermal damage to the healthy region

    Protoporphyrin IX Associated with Visible Light for the Treatment of Trichophyton rubrum Causing Onychomycosis - An Updated Review

    Systemic medications used during the treatment of onychomycosis caused by Trichophyton rubrum may have relapse, making them costly and insignificant for the patient. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an advantageous therapeutic option for disease control, mainly due to the absence of risk of microbial resistance. The action of PDT is combined by three elements: photosensitizer (PS), visible light (VL) and molecular oxygen, leading to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) or singlet oxygen formation (1O2), both ROS (type I mechanism) as 1O2 (type II mechanism) induce damage and death to microbial cells. This research was proposed as a study through a non-systematic review, to investigate the action of PS "Protoporphyrin IX" (Pp IX) associated with visible light on T. rubrum, contemplating clinical and relevant data regarding the treatment of onychomycosis by PDT. PubMed survey was conducted from June 2021 to April 2022. The research strategy included clinical trials, randomized trials, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and reviews in English. Pp IX has affinity for T. rubrum, which is justified by the incorporation of Pp IX into the cell membrane, which led to inhibition by LV irradiation. Thus, the photodynamic process of Pp IX may lead to cell death by type I and II mechanisms. The data found are promising, however, new studies in vitro and in vivo are suggested, since few studies have been found related to the theme

    Brazilians perspective on cryptocurrencies

    The advance in science and technology combined with the development of the Internet offers new options for the use of money. Economic agents are beginning to lose physical contact with money and carry out transactions through electronic channels. The debate on the subject is of international relevance and foresees the manifestation of the monetary authority, which shows the importance of the subject. This paper sought to present the theories of demand for cryptocurrencies, discuss the perspective of Brazilians in relation to digital assets, and show the role of cryptocurrencies in the current economy. This study aimed to identify how the growth in demand for cryptocurrencies can impact the financial system and the globalized economy. The methodology employed is bibliographical, documental, and field research on the monetary evolution and the perspective of Brazilians in relation to crypto assets. Based on the online questionnaire conducted with 170 respondents who answered about what they understand by digital assets, it was observed that most of them are not used to the theme in question, however, there is a great interest in learning. It is concluded that compared to sovereign currencies, cryptocurrency meets monetary demand in isolation, in each context and period

    Film art and conversation circle as an learning strategies in bioethics for collective subjects

    Films are important tools of communication, expression, and perception of the world and important tools in the teaching and learning process. The present article aimed to analyze the discourses that emerged from the cinematographic work, having the conversation circle as a strategy for problematizing bioethics in the work process of teachers, students, and health workers. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, with data collected from an interview guided by a semi-structured script. Faculty, students, and health workers participated in the study. Data analysis based on the content analysis technique, supported by the Atlas.ti version 9.0 software, enables the identification of two thematic categories: film art as a strategy for bioethical reflection and bioethical implications in teachers’ daily practices, students, and health professionals. The results revealed that the use of cinematography engenders a new formulation of the teaching-learning process, allowing participants to reflect on everyday ethical dilemmas. It’s concluded that it’s imperative to broaden debates with bioethical approaches, anchored to cinematographic art, as an effective method to stimulate reflective thinking
