The Irish Sports Monitor (ISM), 2015
The Irish Sports Monitor (ISM) is a large scale population-based survey designed to measure physical and social participation in sport and other forms of exercise in Ireland. It provides the most robust measurement of sports participation in all its forms within Ireland. The publication of results from this wave of the ISM comes at a time of increased focus on developing healthier lifestyles. Results from the first wave of the Healthy Ireland Survey in 2015 found that three in every five Irish people are either overweight or obese, with the key determinants coming through insufficient activity and poor dietary choices. International studies have also suggested that increasing levels of sedentary behaviour may in turn be increasing mortality risks to a similar extent as smoking or obesity.Increasing the levels and extent of involvement in sport is a crucial element in improving the health of the nation. However, the role of sport is not limited to the important physical benefits it provides. It benefits Irish society at community and national levels. Community structures are maintained through our sports clubs, local and inter-county or province rivalries provide endless sporting entertainment and excitement and international success fosters national pride
You-Scie-MINT
GLES Panel 2025, Wave 30
The questionnaire of Wave 30 covers questions on political and social attitudes, evaluations of candidates, parties, and institutions, intended voting behavior, party contacts during the election campaign, use of the Wahl-O-Mat, and assessments of the TV debate between Merz and Scholz. The German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) is the central infrastructure project in Germany for the continuous collection and provision of high-quality data for national and international election research. The methodologically diverse surveys of the GLES enable the research of political attitudes and behavior of voters and candidates. Since its foundation, the GLES has been conducted in close cooperation between the German Society for Electoral Research (DGfW) and GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Sample A of the GLES Panel consists of quota-based selections of eligible German voters from several non-probability online panels, divided into five subsamples. Participants in the 2017 election campaign surveys were drawn from the main sample A1 (2016), the recontact sample A2 (2013), and the refreshment sample A3 (2017) of the GLES Short-term Campaign Panel 2017. Sample A was further supplemented by refreshment samples A4 for the 2021 election campaign (2020) and A5 for the 2025 election campaign (2024). For the early federal election in 2025, active participants were surveyed up to five times throughout the election campaign and after the federal election. The GLES Panel surveys continue to enable diverse and in-depth analyses of the impact of political events and election campaigns on changes in political attitudes and decision-making processes.

Citizens' Attitudes to Climate Change, Climate Concerns and Willingness to Act 2022
Lopuksi vastaajat arvioivat erilaisia väittämiä Suomen tulevaisuuden suunnasta. Taustamuuttujina ovat muun muassa vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, maakunta, asuinalueen tyyppi, päätoimi, ammattiryhmä, korkein suoritettu koulutus, äidinkieli, siviilisääty, kotitalouden yhteenlasketut vuositulot ja kotitalouden henkilömäärä.The survey explores Finnish citizens' climate attitudes, climate-related concerns and knowledge, as well as their societal engagement. At the beginning of the survey, respondents were asked how concerned they are about climate change and what factors have influenced their concern. This was followed by a series of statements regarding climate change mitigation, to which respondents expressed their opinions. They were also asked what actions they had taken to address climate change during the past 24 months. In addition, the survey explored views on the role of science. Next, respondents reported how frequently they follow climate-related news, use social media for societal purposes, and discuss political and societal issues. They were also asked about their political party preference and self-placement on a political value scale. Furthermore, the survey explored the forms of political participation respondents had engaged in over the past five years. Finally, respondents evaluated a series of statements regarding the future direction of Finland. Background variables include, among others, the respondent's gender, age, region of residence, economic activity, occupational status, level of education, mother tongue, marital status, total annual household income, and household size

This project develops a novel procedure for proxying economic activity with daytime satellite imagery across time periods and spatial units, for which reliable data on economic activity are otherwise not available. In developing this unique proxy, we apply machine-learning techniques to a historical time series of daytime satellite imagery from the Landsat program dating back to 1984. Compared to satellite data on night light intensity, another common economic proxy, our proxy more precisely predicts economic activity at smaller regional levels and over longer time horizons. Our procedure is generalizable to any region in the world, and it has great potential for analyzing historical economic developments, evaluating local policy reforms, and controlling for economic activity at highly disaggregated regional levels in econometric applications. Therefore, we produce our proxy for any region in the world and publish the data as georeferend TIF files in this repository. In our paper, we demonstrate our measure’s usefulness for the example of Germany, where East German data on economic activity are unavailable for detailed regional levels and historical time series
