Kysyttiin myös kuinka oikeudenmukaisena he pitävät suomalaista yhteiskuntaa. The Citizens' Pulse surveys examine Finnish attitudes and opinions on current issues. Main themes in the surveys include the activity of authorities, future expectations, trust, and the respondents' own state of mind. This collection round also included questions on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, living in a rural, urban or archipelago area, racism and issues that the Finnish government should address. The ninth collection round of 2024 surveyed the respondents' trust in other people and various institutions (e.g. the Finnish Government, the health care system, the media, and the Finnish Defence Forces). The respondents were asked to evaluate how fair or unfair they thought Finnish society was at present, and their state of mind was examined with questions on various matters relating to health and well-being. The questions covered, for example, the respondents' own mental well-being, whether they were worried about the adequacy of their income, their confidence in their future, and experiences of stress. Additionally, the respondents were asked to evaluate whether an atmosphere of crisis prevailed amongst Finns. The respondents' views were investigated on which societal issues (e.g. promotion of climate action, national defence, poverty reduction, effective healthcare, operating conditions of businesses and investment opportunities) the Finnish government should focus on in the near future. The next set of questions focused on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and national security in Finland. The respondents were asked how concerned they were about the crisis in Ukraine and its effects, and whether they were concerned that the war might expand beyond Ukraine. The respondents were also asked whether they were concerned that Russia might take military action against Finland or try to interfere with the functioning of Finnish society. Opinions on the economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU and whether Finland should be ready to receive significant numbers of refugees from Ukraine if necessary were charted. The respondents were also asked whether they had noticed any cyber security issues or instances where purposefully misleading claims based on misinformation were spread on social media or online over the previous month. Questions were also asked about racism, prevention of racism, equality between people of different ethnic backgrounds, and relations between different population groups in Finnish society. It was charted whether the respondents have heard of the Government's 'Action, not only words' campaign against racism. Finally, questions were asked about living in different areas of Finland and the attractiveness of different areas. The respondents were asked about their preferred place of residence and how long they had lived in the the countryside, town and archipelago areas. Background variables included the language responded in, the respondent's gender, age group, NUTS3 region of residence, highest level of education, household composition, and perceived financial situation of household

The dataset is a household survey covering randomly sampled households in 15 purposively selected small towns in Uganda and Tanzania, surveyed in 2022. Our survey was designed to explore multiple dimensions of inclusivity and covered 1) household structure and infrastructure; 2) expenditures/assets; 3) rural–urban links and social networks; 4) socio-economics; 5) work; and 6) voting and participation. The first three sections pertained to the household and the last to the individual. The resulting dataset contains 300 variables, with 1,789 respondents in Uganda (seven towns) and 2,034 in Tanzania (eight towns), totalling 3,823 cases. Our survey is limited by not tracking change over time, but simply offering a snapshot of years 2021–2022.The dataset is a household survey covering randomly sampled households in 15 purposively selected small towns in Uganda and Tanzania, surveyed in 2022. Healthy Ireland Survey, 2022

No full text
The annual Healthy Ireland Survey is a repeated cross-sectional annual study that provides an up-to-date picture of the nation’s health along with a robust and credible baseline set of data on a range of health behaviours which have significant impact on individual health outcomes. These data are being used by the Department of Health to inform current and future policy direction and programme development and implementation. The Survey reports on many lifestyle behaviours such as smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, active travel, weight management, diet and nutrition, health service utilization patterns, dental health, chronic disease incidence, mental health, sleep patterns, dementia awareness, caring responsibilities, women’s health and sexual health. Some modules are repeated every year (e.g. smoking, demographics, chronic conditions), however, the majority of modules are being repeated on a 2-4 year cycle, allowing the Survey to ask a wider variety of questions. The Questionnaire for each year therefore varies substantially (but not completely) from the year before; researchers should be aware of that. Since 2014, the Healthy Ireland Survey has been administered on an annual basis by Ipsos on behalf of the Department of Health

An archive and corpus of Twitter/X's policies for Tweet redistribution 2006-2023

When researchers publish results based on the analysis of Tweets, good practice requires sharing the Tweets (or Tweet IDs) to enable reproducibility of the results. What may or may not be shared depends on the Twitter/X terms for the redistribution of the platform’s content. As a complete archive of these terms is currently not easily accessible, we used The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to gather all documents from Twitter/X that detail the terms and conditions for content redistribution, in effect between 2006 and November 2023. Based on the relevant conditions for the redistribution of Twitter/X content to third parties a "restriction_score" was assigned to each version of the terms/policies, to express how restrictive the regulations for the redistribution of content are. In addition, to facilitate analyses of the respective documents, a corpus has been created. The included archive of .html files allows researchers who collected Twitter/X content in the past, and who are now considering sharing this content, to determine the regulation in effect at the time of Tweet collection. Python scripts and a list of URLs are provided, which can be used to replicate the creation of the .html files published here. An R script is provided to create the corpus from the .html files. When researchers publish results based on the analysis of Tweets, good practice requires sharing the Tweets (or Tweet IDs) to enable reproducibility of the results. Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner. The Growing Up in Scotland (GUS) study is a large-scale longitudinal social survey which follows the lives of several groups of Scottish children from infancy through childhood and adolescence. It aims to provide important information on children, young people and their families in Scotland. The study forms a central part of the Scottish Government's strategy for the long-term monitoring and evaluation of its policies for children and young people, with a specific focus on the early years. The study seeks both to describe the characteristics, circumstances and experiences of children in their early years in Scotland and, through its longitudinal design, to generate a better understanding of how children's start in life can shape their longer term prospects and developmentSince 2005 fieldwork has been undertaken by the Scottish Centre for Social Research. The survey design for Birth Cohort 1 consisted of recruiting the parents of an initial total of 5,217 children aged 10 months old in 2005 and interviewing them annually until their child reached age six. Further fieldwork was then undertaken at ages 8, 10, 12, 14 and 17-18 with a sample boost added at age 12.Data for sweeps 1-9 were collected via an in-home, face-to-face interview with self-complete sections. Fieldwork for sweep 10 was disrupted due to the COVID pandemic. As a result, the final portion of the data was collected via web and telephone questionnaires. Sweep 11 data were gathered via web, telephone and face-to-face surveys of cohort members and their parent/carer.Further information about the survey may be found on the Growing Up in Scotland website. In May 20205, data and documentation for Cohort 1, Sweeps 1-11 were released as individual studies (SNs 9373-9383 and 9386-9387). Previously they were held under one study (SN 5760) which has been withdrawn from the data catalogue.Main Topics:The main carer questionnaire covered the following topics:household informationnon-resident parents (NRP)schoolparentingactivitieschild health and developmentemploymenteducation and ethnicityreligion and languagesincome, expenditure and managing financiallyhousing and accommodationThe child self-completion CASI questionnaire covered the following topics:life satisfactionsupport (significant adult)health and wellbeing (health related quality of life and perception of own weight)hyperactivity/inattentionschoolfriendsrelationship with peersgoing online and using technological deviceschild behavioursrelationship with resident parentsaspirationsA self-completion PAPI (Pen and Paper Interview) questionnaire was completed with any resident partner of the main adult respondent.A topic overview covering all sweeps, is available on the GUS website.</div
