Sharia microfinancing is considered a strategic instrument in supporting inclusive finance and the growth of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) as the backbone of the national economy. However, this instrument remains limited by financing access, the sharia financial literacy, and technology utilization; thus, a sustainable and effective financing ecosystem model should be developed. This study aims to describe the sharia microfinancing ecosystem model and the distribution practices of microfinancing on MSMEs of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Surabaya HR Muhammad 1 Branch by utilizing a qualitative approach and case study methods. The result demonstrates that sharia micro financing in BSI involves diverse actors, including the bank, MSME clients, regulatory bodies, and business communities; by implementing sharia principles, for instance, transactions without riba (usury), maisir (speculation), or gharar (uncertainty), as well as using murabaha (cost-plus financing) and musharakah (sharing and partnership financing) agreement. Some products offered are Sharia KUR (People’s Business Credit) and Micro Business BSI - non KUR (non-PBC), with a credit ceiling up to IDR 500 millions. They are also supported by digital innovation, such as the I-Kurma application and the BSI Agent program. The financing scheme implementation positively affects MSMEs' growth, as observed through increasing sales volume and business expansion. However, some challenges remain present, such as a low level of literacy within the society regarding Sharia financing products and administrative problems in the digitalization process. Therefore, this research recommends BSI to advance its sharia financial education program, optimize its digital system, and strengthen risk management to improve the efficiency of sustainable sharia micro financing

However, traditional market traders, particularly clothing retailers, face significant challenges in the post-COVID-19 era, including reduced consumer purchasing power and increasing competition from e-commerce platforms. This study aims to (1) identify the condition of clothing retailers during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, (2) analyze internal and external factors influencing business development, (3) formulate strategies to enhance competitiveness, and (4) determine strategic priorities. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five respondents (three clothing retailers and two market managers) and direct observation. Quantitative data were collected via questionnaires distributed to 30 consumers. SWOT analysis was used to examine internal and external factors, while the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) determined strategy priorities. Findings show that COVID-19 significantly reduced retailers' incomes. Although the number of traders increased post-pandemic, consumer purchasing power remains low. Retailers benefit from strengths such as strong social interaction and flexible pricing, but struggle with limited technological adoption. SWOT analysis revealed opportunities like Pasar Cibinong’s strategic location and consumer trust, and threats from online competition. Four main strategies were formulated: Horizontal Integration of Traders, Cibinong Go Digital, Cibinong Easy Pay, and Cibinong Comfortable Shopping. AHP results ranked Cibinong Go Digital as the top priority (weight: 0.49), emphasizing digital integration and training. The implementation of Cibinong Go Digital is expected to improve competitiveness, requiring comprehensive support from market authorities and local government, alongside community participation

The Role of Profitability in the Influence of E-Commerce Implementation and Financial Accounting Standards on Enhancing the Competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the influence of e-commerce implementation and the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) on enhancing MSMEs’ competitiveness, with profitability as a moderating variable. In the face of the digital era and increasing market competition, MSMEs are required to adapt by utilizing information technology and improving financial governance. The research method used is quantitative, employing a survey approach involving a number of MSME actors. The results show that both e-commerce implementation and SAK EMKM have a positive and significant effect on improving MSME competitiveness. Furthermore, the profitability variable is proven to strengthen the relationship between e-commerce and competitiveness, but does not enhance the relationship between SAK EMKM and competitiveness. These findings align with Contingency Theory, which states that the effectiveness of a strategy depends on its alignment with an organization’s internal and situational conditions. In the context of MSMEs, the success of digital and accounting strategies is highly influenced by technological readiness, leadership quality, and the financial condition of the business. This study provides practical implications for MSME actors, the government, and other stakeholders in formulating business development strategies amidst digital economic transformation
