Tax Avoidance, Ownership, Commissioners, And Debt Costs: The Role of Transparency
This study investigates the effects of tax avoidance, institutional ownership, and independent commissioners on debt costs, with transparency serving as a moderating variable. The research sample consists of consumer cyclical sector companies listed on the IDX from 2021 to 2023. Samples were selected using a purposive sampling method, resulting in 84 companies. The study applies multiple linear regression analysis and moderated regression analysis. The results show that tax avoidance hurts the cost of debt. Institutional ownership also negatively impacts the cost of debt, while independent commissioners have a positive effect. Additionally, transparency does not moderate the relationship between tax avoidance and debt costs, nor does it moderate the link between institutional ownership and debt costs. However, transparency can reduce the negative impact of independent commissioners on the cost of debt

The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that Kafe De Vijas has a main strength in the use of the vintage concept which makes it different from other cafes. The main weakness is the location of the cafe which is not strategic and less than optimal promotion. On the opportunity side, the increasing trend of coffee consumption among Generation Z is a great potential for cafe growth. While the biggest threat comes from the many competitors around the operational area. Based on the results of the IFAS and EFAS calculations, Kafe De Vijas is in quadrant I of the SWOT matrix, which shows that the company's position is in a condition that supports an aggressive strategy, namely maximizing strength to seize opportunities. This study concludes that an effective marketing strategy by highlighting the uniqueness of products and services, accompanied by optimization of digital marketing and improvement of infrastructure, is the key to increasing sales volume
Fraud Diamond Perspective in Detecting and Understanding Financial Reporting Irregularities in Publicly Listed Companies
This study examines the impact of pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and capability as defined by the Fraud Diamond Theory Wolfe & Hermanson, 2004 on fraudulent financial reporting indicators in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. A quantitative approach employing multiple linear regression was adopted. Secondary data were extracted from annual financial statements published on the IDX website. Pressure was proxied by the debt-to-assets ratio, opportunity by a corporate governance index, rationalization by audit opinion, and capability by changes in the board of directors. Fraudulent reporting was identified using the Beneish M-Score model. The sample comprised 52 companies selected via purposive sampling based on predefined criteria. Opportunity and rationalization exhibited a statistically significant positive relationship with financial statement fraud. In contrast, pressure and capability showed no significant effect. This study validates the Fraud Diamond Theory in Indonesia’s energy sector, highlighting corporate governance and auditor oversight as critical fraud predictors. It offers empirical evidence for regulators to prioritize governance reforms and audit transparency over conventional leverage-based risk assessments
The Impact of Digitalization on the Human Development Index in ASEAN
Digital transformation has driven economic modernization, requiring improvements in human well-being while ensuring energy consumption aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals. This study investigates the impact of digitalization, education, per capita income, renewable energy consumption, and economic growth on the Human Development Index (HDI) in seven ASEAN countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Laos during 2015–2022, using panel data analysis and a fixed effects model. Data were obtained from the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme. The findings reveal that individual internet usage, education expenditure, and economic growth significantly enhance HDI, highlighting the role of digital connectivity in improving quality of life. However, the study is subject to certain limitations, including the relatively short time frame, potential data availability issues, and the assumption of homogeneity across countries within the fixed effects model. Acknowledging these constraints is essential for contextualizing the findings and guiding future research toward more comprehensive, long-term, and heterogeneous analyses
