序
本報告書は，筑波大学大学院生命地球科学研究群地球科学学位プログラムにおける「人文地理学野外
実験Ⅰ・Ⅱ」として実施した現地調査をもとに，追加調査等で収集した資料とあわせて成果をまとめた
ものである．
2023（令和５）年度，筑波大学は開学50周年迎えた．前身校から数えると創基151年にあたり，本学
にとって重要な節目となる年となった．わが国最古の高等教育機関の一つとして1872年に誕生した師範
学校は，その後高師，文理大，東京教育大から筑波大へと変遷を遂げたが，人文地理学教室において引
き継がれてきたものは，野外調査を重視する姿勢であった．1973年の筑波大学開学以降は，主として茨
城県地域をフィールドに地域調査を実施してきた．既往の報告書のなかでも記してきた通り，東京大都
市圏の外縁部に位置する茨城県では，首都東京の大きな社会的・経済的影響を受けつつも，海・山・湖
沼から得られる資源と可耕地に恵まれ，独自の地域的特色が生み出されていることもあり，野外実験の
フィールドとして好適地であった．
本報告書で研究対象地域とした笠間地域は，県都水戸の西隣の県中央部に位置する．八溝山系の山々
が周囲に連なり，盆地状の地形を呈する．笠間の地名は『常陸国風土記』にもみられ，奈良時代の初期
にはすでに複数の集落が成立していたことで知られる．盆地の中央部に鎮座する標高200mほどの佐白
山は，中世期には僧坊が立ち並び，鎌倉御家人として名高い笠間時朝の居城も築かれた．中世の笠間は
鎌倉や京とのつながりも深く，歴史上著名な人物が笠間を彩っていた．越後への配流を赦免された親鸞
聖人は，1214（建保２）年より約20年にわたり西念寺（笠間市稲田）を拠点に東国布教を行った．親鸞
が『教行信証』をまとめたのも稲田の草庵と伝えられる．江戸期の笠間藩は領主がたびたび入れ替わっ
たが，忠臣蔵で知られる浅野家は赤穂藩転封前，笠間藩主であり，市内には大石内蔵助の旧宅跡などの
名所も残されている．その後18世紀初頭に牧野氏の入封以降は明治維新まで牧野氏が笠間藩８万石の領
主であった．笠間藩の祈願所として歴代藩主の庇護を得た笠間稲荷は幕末から明治期にかけて，関東一
円の庶民の間に信仰が広まった．講社が設立され，参拝者の増加とともに宿屋や飲食店や土産物店が立
ち並ぶ門前町として栄えた．
笠間は隣接する栃木県益子町とともに焼き物産地としても有名である．牧野氏の窯業奨励策を受け，
その後も笠間焼の生産は拡大が続いた．日用品が長く主要製品であったが，現代では芸術性の高い作品
が数多く生み出されている．また市域東部の稲田地区は花崗岩の産地であり，明治期以降石材業で一世
を風靡した．最高裁判所や国会議事堂，東京駅などの建材にも用いられている稲田石は関東大震災から
の近代都市東京の復興を支えた．笠間焼や稲田石といった地場産業の発展には，原料原産地であるとと
もに大消費地である東京への近接性も重要な要因であった．
一方で高度経済成長期における大都市圏拡大とその後の縮退傾向が進むなかで，笠間地域のもつ地理
的特性にも変化が生じている．東京への直通鉄道を持たず，高速道路（北関東道）の開通も平成期（2000
年）と比較的遅れたため，笠間地区は相対的に都市化の進展が緩やかであった．住宅地開発や工業立地
が進まず，笠間稲荷神社や笠間焼，ギャラリーなど文化・芸術といった歴史・文化と豊かな自然資源を
活かした日帰り観光地としての性格を強めている．平成の市町村合併では，旧笠間市と旧西茨城郡友部
町，同岩間町とが合併し現在の笠間市が成立（2006年）した．市名には笠間の名が採用されたものの新
庁舎はJR常磐線と常磐自動車道の通る旧友部町域に置かれた．皮肉な見方をすれば，「名をとり，実を
捨てた」形の笠間ではあったが，この笠間という地名こそ地域ブランドの源泉として力をもっているこ
とも明らかになりつつある．
東京・横浜など都市部住民が週末利用で笠間を訪れ，クラインガルテンに滞在する二地域居住型のラ
イフスタイルを楽しむ人たちも増えている．また全国最大の栗生産地である茨城県のなかでも，最も代
表的な産地が岩間地区であった．新笠間市成立を契機に笠間の知名度を生かした栗の６次産業化も進み，
北関東道・笠間西IC近くに開設された「道の駅かさま」では笠間の栗を用いたモンブランがブームを引
き起こしている．本報告書はこうした多様な地域的特色をもち，歴史と自然豊かな笠間地域の地誌的相
貌を描こうとした試みである．
本報告書作成の現地調査は，2022年10月30日（日）から11月５日（土）までと，2023年５月28日（日）
から６月３日（土）までの２回，計14日間にわたって実施した．学生の所属組織としては，生命地球科
学研究群の地球科学および山岳科学学位プログラムのほか，人間総合科学研究群世界遺産学学位プログ
ラムの学生たちも加わった．また，立正大学地球環境科学部の川添　航助教にもご参加いただき，丁寧
なご指導をいただいた．参加者の総勢は，2022年は学生22名，2023年は43名という多数になった．
笠間地域で調査を行うにあたって，以下の７班を編制した．笠間市街地の中心商業地域における祭礼
の担い手の変化を扱う門前町班，日動美術館をはじめとする芸術のまちとしての笠間に焦点を当てる芸
術班，笠間焼の製作から流通に至るプロセスを論じた笠間焼班，笠間焼ほかの商品を扱う民芸品店の立
地と観光利用に注目するギャラリー班，在来工業である石材業の現況を理解する稲田石班，東京大都市
圏外縁部の立地を活かし，都市住民における二地域居住の実態解明を企図するクラインガルテン班，笠
間栗のブランド化と６次産業化の様態を分析する栗班，である．
各班は筆頭著者である上級生リーダーを中心に，事前準備から脱稿にいたるまで，２年間にわたる研
究を企画・実施してきた．現地調査の際には，ジェネラルサーベイ（概括的調査）から土地利用調査，
景観観察，聞き取り・アンケート調査などを実施し，さらには関係機関のご協力をいただきながら資料
収集を進めた．2022年度は原則として全参加者が笠間市内の２施設に分宿，2023年度は筑波大学もしく
は水戸市内の宿泊施設を拠点に現地調査を遂行した．日中の調査後に各班は当日の成果をゼミで発表し，
参加者全体で理解を深めたるとともに，笠間地域に地理的特性について議論を行った．さらには野外実
験終了後も，必要に応じて追加調査を実施した．
以上が本報告書に所収した論文の概要である．地域研究年報は45号をもって冊子体の作成をやめ、本
46号からはオンラインジャーナルとして刊行することとなった．これまで冊子体の刊行に関わって来ら
れた皆様には深甚の感謝を申し上げる．この調査にあたって，笠間市役所をはじめとして様々な機関や
団体，企業体，住民の皆さまからご理解と温かいご協力を賜った．以上記して厚く御礼申し上げます．

ダマングレーティングを活用した音響ホログラム生成法の高度化*

1 はじめに 
非接触触覚ディスプレイや音響浮揚を始め、
音響焦点を活用した応用技術が開発[1,2]され
ており、複数焦点を生成することで同時に複
数の点を刺激や，液体の操作[2]が可能となる．
既に，様々な最適化手法が提案されているが，
単一の焦点を生成する音響ホログラム以外に
解析的な解は判明しておらず，複数焦点の生
成には音響ホログラムの最適化アルゴリズム
や機械学習モデルが必要不可欠である． 
そこで，筆者は先行研究で光学分野におけ
るダマングレーティング[3]を応用すること
で複数焦点を機械学習や最適化アルゴリズム
を使用せずに生成できることを示した[4]．総
当たり的に生成したところ、様々な音場が生
成可能であることが判明し、焦点位置の回転
や平行移動などの操作ができることが判明し
たが、ユーザーが欲する音場を瞬時に生成す
る手法には着想していない．そこで、本研究
では生成手法[4]を簡略化することで，位相特
異と複数焦点の関係性を炙り出し，算術的に
音響ホログラムを生成する手法があるのか検
討を進める． 
2 ダマングレーティングの生成 
 ダマングレーティング（Dammann Grating）
とは 1977年にDammann＆Klotzにより提唱さ
れたバイナリ型光学ホログラム[3]を指し、位
相特異を設置することで同強度の振幅を持つ
複数の焦点を生成するホログラムである．

rect(𝑥)はrect(𝑥)  =  1, |𝑥|  <  0.5;  0, |𝑥|  >=
 0.5となる矩形関数であり，例えば、 𝑑 =
[0, 0.25, 0.4, 0.5]であれば、図１aのようにな
り、𝑥 = 0.25と𝑥 = 0.4の地点で[1, −1]のいず
れかに切り替わる一次元ベクトルが生成され
る．  
 𝑔(𝑥)は正規化されたアレイの右辺（0 ≤ 𝑥 ≤
0.5）のみであるため、𝑥が長さ𝑚のアレイで
あれば、𝑥𝑟𝑒𝑣 [𝑖] = 𝑥[𝑚 − 𝑖 + 1]; 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑣[𝑖] =
𝑔[𝑚 − 𝑖 + 1]で因数を逆にし、𝑥𝑑 =
[−𝑥𝑟𝑒𝑣  𝑥𝑟𝑒𝑣], 𝑔𝑑 = [−𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑣  𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑣 ]とすることで
正規化されたアレイの𝑥座標に対しての 1次
元ダマングレーティングが生成される（図
1b）． 
振動子アレイは 2次元である為，𝑚 × 𝑚の
正方行列に展開することで 2次元ダマングレ

とで，切り替え地点を境に位相特異を持つ音
響ホログラムに変換することができる．完成
した音響ホログラムは図 2aのようになる． 
3 焦点位置の相対的移動 
 ダマングレーティングの応用性を検証する
ため，仮想的に解像度が高い 40kHzのフェー
ズドアレイ振動子（ピッチ 2㎜，正方形アレ
イ幅 16 cm）を想定し音場を計算する：

間した際の位相を示す．

は単焦点をxf = [0,0,0.1] mで生成する音響ホ
ログラムであり，例えば，図 2aのホログラム
を使うと図 2bのような音場が生成される． 
 ここで、𝑑の長さを 3に限定し、𝑑1 = 0.161
から 0.387へと変化させると図３a-g（𝑥𝑓 =
[0, 0, 0.1] mとしたときの単一焦点の音圧
𝑝𝑚𝑎𝑥に対して正規化）のようになり、切り替
え点の場所に応じて焦点位置が変化している
ことが分かる．これまでダマングレーティン
グでの操作として確認されている焦点の回転
や平行移動などの操作に加え、焦点の相対的
移動も可能であることを示しており，位相特
異の位置や空間周波数から焦点の結合や分離
するホログラム群を算術的に生成する手法の
開発が期待される． 
4 おわりに 
 ダマングレーティングにより生成される音
響ホログラムの位相特異が音響焦点の相対的
位置を操作可能であることを示された．今後
は焦点位置から音響ホログラムの逆生成や，
複数焦点生成と位相特異性の関係性について
検証を進める．

This survey argues that the ground-breaking duality theories developed in the mid-20th century can also
applied to logic, via its algebraization under categorical logic, and they thereby result in known and new

『文化交流研究』第19号をお届けいたします。本号には、投稿論文3本、研究会報
告 1 件、研究発表要旨 1 本を掲載しました。ここ数年はコロナ禍により、本誌の編集
会議もオンラインで行われておりましたが、今年は対面で行うことができました。私
が修士課程に入学した 2021 年に比べると、院生室がとても賑やかになり、先生方や
事務の方々と対面でお話しする機会も増え、とても嬉しいです。 
また、私事ですが、今年の 9 月に 4 年ぶりにイギリスを訪れることができました。
10 日間の滞在中、ロンドン、リバプール、ヨークの美術館を訪れ、テート・ブリテン
と大英博物館では収蔵庫にある画家の習作も見せていただき、充実した研究調査とな
りました。基本的には 1 人で行動していましたが、現地での面白い出会いもありまし
た。例えば、現在は博物館となっている画家フレデリック・レイトンのスタジオに行
くために訪れたホランド・パークでは、イギリス人のおじいさんに話しかけられ、仲
良くなり、オレンジジュースをいただきました。また、疲れて寄ったチャリング・ク
ロス駅近くのマクドナルドでは、相席になった中国人の留学生と日本のドラマのこと
で話が弾み、後日ピカデリー・サーカスのチャイニーズ・レストランで夜ご飯をご一
緒しました。 
少しでも時間と場所がずれれば一生出会うことのなかったであろう人たちとつなが
るというのは、不思議なものです。私は人の運に恵まれているほうではありますが、
気づかないうちに出会う機会を逃している人たちがたくさんいるのだろうと思うと、
少し切ない気持ちになります。大学院の同期も、先輩も、後輩も、先生や事務の方々
も、自分が生まれる時期や入学する時期が数年違っていたら出会えなかったのかもし
れない、と考えると感慨深いです。 
最後に、論文や発表要旨を投稿してくださった皆さま、本誌をより良いものにする
ためご協力いただいた編集委員各位、投稿論文の査読についてご協力いただきました

Synthesis of Macrocyclic Oligomer of Pyridylbenzoxazole Utilizing 
Dynamic Covalent Bonds and Its Unsymmetric Conversion

A new unsymmetric macrocycle was synthesized by effective and 
high yield 3-step synthesis, which is composed of macrocyclization, 
irreversible conversion, and desymmetrization. Dynamic nature of 
imine bonds as well as selective conversion based on strain release 
were utilized. Moreover, the unsymmetric macrocycle formed an 
interesting bivalve-like 2:1 complex with zinc. 
The synthesis of macrocycles has been one of the key challenges 
in chemistry, since they have rich properties as selective host 
molecules,1 specific catalysts,2 bioactive compounds,3 units for 
tubular structures,4 chemical sensors,5 etc. The covalent 
synthesis of macrocycles often suffers from multi-step reactions 
and low yields in the cyclization step. Meanwhile, dynamic 
imine bond formation has an advantage in the synthesis of large 
structures like macrocycles and cages, because the target 
products are obtained as the result of thermodynamic 
equilibrium.6 However, such Schiff-base compounds have an 
issue of stability due to the reversible nature of the imine bonds. 
One solution to address this problem is to convert imine bonds 
to irreversible bonds. Specifically, methods, such as reduction 
to amines,7 Pinnick oxidation to amides,8 Povarov cyclization to 
make quinoline skeletons,9 diaza-Cope rearrangement to form 
C-C bonds,10 and 3-step conversion including reductive 
elimination of nitrosylamines to make hydrocarbon skeletons,11 
have been reported. In terms of the stabilization of structures, 
imine bonds in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are also 
converted for the same reason. The conversion to amines12 or 
amides,13 Strecker reactions,14 the formation of 
(thio)benzoxazinone15 and oxazole16 have been reported. 
 Among the units listed above, amines and amides have 
some structural flexibility arising from the rotation of single 
bonds. In contrast, oxazole units can form rigid structures 
whose aromatic rings are directly linked. The oxazole’s nitrogen 
acts as a coordinating atom.17 Therefore, macrocycles 
constructed by oxazole units could become macrocyclic ligands. 
Rigid macrocycles are expected to be good ligands for 
multinuclear complexes, because they can align multiple 
coordination units with specific distances.18 
 Another important issue in the synthesis of macrocycles is 
how to make unsymmetric frameworks with a different 
monomeric unit.19 Such macrocycles are expected to perform 
sophisticated functions compared to symmetric ones, because 
each unit can act in a unique manner. However, their syntheses 
sometimes require multiple steps to sequentially connect 
different units. The use of dynamic covalent bonds is usually not 
effective for the synthesis of an unsymmetric macrocycle as a 
single product with a specific combination of monomers. If the 
syntheses of unsymmetric macrocycles utilizing the advantage 
of dynamic covalent bonds are achieved, they should expand 
the chemistry of macrocycles as a simple and effective method. 
 We now report a high-yield 3-step synthesis of an 
unsymmetric macrocyclic ligand composed only of irreversible 
bonds (Fig. 1). The three steps are comprised of 
macrocyclization, oxidation, and unsymmetric conversion. The 
first step is the macrocyclic oligomerization of the bifunctional 
monomer 1, which has o-aminophenol and 2-formylpyridine 
subunits, utilizing imine bonds formation to yield the Schiff-
base macrocycle 2. The second step is the oxidation of the 
methylene-aminophenol units of 2 to benzoxazole units to yield 
the macrocycle 3 composed only of irreversible bonds. The last 
step is the unsymmetric conversion, that is, the selective 
addition reactions of water to only two oxazole units out of 
three units of 3, to obtain the unsymmetric macrocyclic ligand 
4. Moreover, the unsymmetric macrocycle 4 forms an 
interesting 2:1 complex with ZnII, which holds the metal ion like 
a pearl in bivalve shells. 
 2-(2-Pyridyl)benzoxazole20 (pbo) was chosen as the unit of 
the macrocycle. The pbo unit can be obtained by imine bond 
formation between o-aminophenol and 2-formylpyridine 
followed by oxidation. In this study, we designed the 
bifunctional monomer 1, in which the o-aminophenol and the 
2-formylpyridine subunits are directly connected (See Schemes 
S1–S4 and Figures S1–S8 in ESI for the synthesis of 1). The 
connection pattern of the two subunits was designed so as to 
set the inner angle of the imine-bonded macrocycle at around

60° (i.e., to obtain a trimer in the macrocyclization step). It is 
also taken into consideration that the N,N chelate coordination 
sites of the pbo face the inner cavity after the irreversible 
oxidative conversion. The first two-step reaction scheme is 
shown in Fig. 2a,b. Deprotection of the formyl groups of the 
bifunctional monomer 1 and subsequent imine-bond 
oligomerization was performed as a one-pot reaction in 
THF/H2O = 3/1 (v/v), and the macrocyclic pap (2-[(2-
pyridinylmethylene)amino]phenol) trimer 2 was obtained in 
90% yield (Fig. 2a). The structure of 2 was confirmed by 1H NMR, 
13C NMR, HRMS, elemental analysis (EA), and single crystal X-ray 
diffraction analysis (SCXRD) (Figures S9–S15 in ESI). The pap 
trimer 2 was observed to have a 3-fold symmetry based on the 
NMR analysis (Figures S9–S14 in ESI). The macrocyclic 
framework of 2 observed in the crystal was planar (Fig. 2c). The 
lone pairs of the imine nitrogen atoms faced the outside of the 
macrocycle and formed hydrogen bonds with the phenol proton. 
Meanwhile, the aldimine hydrogen atoms faced the inner cavity. 
A NOESY measurement in CDCl3 suggested that 2 took the same 
conformation in solution as in the crystal. NOE cross peaks were 
observed between the aldimine proton (f) and inward phenyl 
proton (a), but not observed between the proton (f) and 
outward pyridine proton (c) or phenol proton (g) (Fig. 2e). 
 Next, all the pap units of 2 were converted to pbo by 
oxidation using DDQ, then the macrocyclic pbo trimer 3 was 
obtained in 91% yield (Fig. 2b). One should note that to form 
the oxazole rings, 2 should take an unfavored conformation (in 
1H–1H NOESY) whose aldimine protons faced the outside of the 
macrocycle, but yet the oxidative conversion to 3 efficiently 
proceeded. The structure of 3 was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C 
NMR, HRMS, EA, and SCXRD (Figures S17–S23 in ESI). The 1H 
NMR spectrum of 3 showed the disappearance of the phenol 
and aldimine protons of the pap units, thus full conversion to 
the pbo units was confirmed (Figures S17–S21 in ESI). The 
macrocyclic structure of 3 observed in the crystal was also 
planar, but it was suggested that the benzoxazole linker can tilt 
to some degree (Fig. 2d). 
 Shown in Fig. 3a is the reaction of the pbo trimer 3 to 
produce the unsymmetric pbo-pcap mixed macrocycle 4. Only 
two of the three pbo units of 3 were converted to 2-(2-
pyridylcarboxamide)phenol (pcap) by the addition reaction of 
water molecules under an acidic condition (TFA, CHCl3, 50 °C), 
while one pbo unit remained unreacted. The reaction 
selectively proceeded and 4 was isolated in 84% yield. The 
structure of 4 was determined by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HRMS, EA, 
and SCXRD (Figures S26–S34 in ESI). The 1H NMR spectrum of 4 
is shown in Fig. 3b. Note that the macrocycle has a 
“directionality” because it was constructed by head-to-tail 
cyclization of the bifunctional monomer, and two pcap moieties 
of 4 were observed as nonequivalent units in the spectrum. 
 The structure of 4 observed in the crystal apparently has 
larger dihedral angles of each unit compared to 2 or 3 (Fig. 3c). 
To consider the reason for the selective ring-opening reactions 
of the two pbo units in 3, a monomeric derivative of pbo (5, Fig. 
3d) was subjected to the same acidic condition to convert 3 to 
4 (Schemes S8,S9 and Fig. S36 in ESI). As a result, the pbo 
monomer 5 did not react. Based on the results, we think that 
the major driving force for this successful unsymmetric 
conversion is the release of strains in the macrocyclic 
framework of the pbo trimer 3. The pbo unit has a larger inner 
angle than the pap or pcap units as shown in Fig. 3e, thus the 
pbo trimer 3 should be strained. A comparison of the two 
crystallographic structures of the pbo trimer 3 and pbo-pcap 
mixed macrocycle 4 in the overlay revealed that the inner angles 
around the benzoxazole linker became wider by conversion 
from 3 to 4, and each unit of 4 could be tilted more than that of 
3 (Fig. 3f). These observations support the strain in 3 and the 
flexibility of 4. 
 The pbo-pcap mixed trimer 4 has two pcap units and one 
pbo unit as chelation moieties facing the internal cavity, thus it 
is expected to act as a macrocyclic ligand. Reaction between 4 
and Zn2+ (Zn(OTf)2) was performed to investigate the complex 
structures created by the unsymmetric macrocyclic ligand. As a

result, an interesting dimeric complex [Zn42Ln](OTf)2 (L: 
exchangeable ligand in the cavity) was obtained (Fig. 4a). In the 
1H NMR titration experiment to add Zn(OTf)2 to 4, sharp signals 
assigned to a novel species were observed when the amount of 
Zn2+ reached 4 : Zn2+ = 2 : 1 or more (Fig. S37). The diffusion 
constant D [m2s–1] of the complex (logD = –8.94) obtained in the 
1H DOSY NMR was smaller than that of the ligand (logD = –8.91), 
thus it was suggested that the complex is larger in size than the 
ligand (Fig. S38 in ESI). The structure of [Zn42(H2O)2](OTf)2 was 
revealed by SCXRD (Fig. 4b–d, Fig. S39). In this bivalve-shell like 
complex, the two macrocycles 4 hold one Zn2+ ion in the cavity 
like a pearl. One of the two pcap units acted as the N,O 
bidentate ligand to Zn2+, but the other pcap and pbo units were

not involved in the coordination. ZnII has a 6-coordinate 
geometry, and two pcap units from each 4 and two H2O

molecules in the cavity coordinated (Fig. 4b). The other factors 
involved in the dimer formation include intramolecular 
hydrogen bonds between the phenol O-H and amide C=O (O-H
…O=C) and also the intermolecular (i.e. inside dimer structure) 
one between the phenol O-H and phenol O (O-H…O) (Fig. 4d). 
To summarize, each unit in the unsymmetric macrocycle 4 was 
distinctively involved in the formation of the uniquely-shaped 
dimer [Zn42(H2O)2](OTf)2.

 In conclusion, unique molecular design and controlled 
reactions achieved the effective synthesis and desymmetrizing 
reaction of the pyridylbenzoxazole macrocycle. Each conversion 
step proceeded in high yield, and thus opened further 
applications of these macrocycles as functional hosts, building 
blocks for larger supramolecules, and specific catalysts. The 
method we now report, that is, the irreversible conversion of 
dynamic covalent bonds followed by selective conversion based 
on strain release, is a novel synthetic strategy and could be 
applicable not only to other Schiff-base macrocycles but also to 
a wider range of supramolecular structures with sophisticated 
abilities. We believe that this study will accelerate the synthetic 
investigation and application search of unsymmetric synthetic 
compounds with multiple repeating units.
