<Research Notes>The Evolution of Osamu Dazai’s Writing Style in Each Creative Period: Through the Expression of Water Locations
Get PDF本稿は、太宰治創作前期、中期、後期作品に見られる水中と水外の水位置表現の変遷が作風の転換に対する意義を解明し、太宰の各創作時期を区分するための新たな着目点となる可能性を探求する試みである。まず、太宰の創作前期作品「魚服記」における主人公の入水描写を分析し、創作前期に見られる水中への逃避の表現を取り上げる。次に、「浦島さん」における登場人物の幸福な結末に注目し、創作中期では、水外で幸福を獲得するというテーマに転換していることを指摘する。また、創作中期後半の燈台守の話においては、水中と水外の表現が共存していることから、中期から後期への転換過程を解明する。最後に、創作後期作品「海」より、太宰が中期の水外の創作視点を放棄し、再び創作前期に見られる水中への逃避に復帰することを指摘する。以上のことから、太宰の各創作時期における水中と水外表現の変遷を通じて、各創作時期作風の特徴を論証することを目指す。This paper explores the evolution of expressions related to water locations in the early middle and late works of Osamu Dazai seeking new perspectives for categorizing Dazai's different creative periods. Firstly the analysis focuses on the expression of escapism underwater during Dazai's early creative period. Next attention is directed towards the pursuit of happiness above-water during the middle period. Fu rthermore by examining the coexistence of underwater and above-water expressions in the story of the lighthouse keeper in the latter half of the middle period the transition process from the middle to the late period will be explored. Finally it is noteworthy that in Daza i's late works he abandoned the above-water creative perspective and returned to the escapism underwater observed in early works. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the characteristics of each creative period's writing style through the evolution of expressions related to water locations in Daza i's works.departmental bulletin pape
