Ethnoscience-Quizizz test to measure problem-solving skills: a Rasch analysis
Problem-solving skills (PSS) are essential for students to face challenges in the 21st century. Based on PISA results, the PSS of Indonesian students are in a low category. Not only that, a few assessments of PSS have been developed. This study aims to analyze the quality of the ethnoscience-Quizizz test (EQT). The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE model. The data analysis technique was based on the Rasch analysis using the Ministep software. The item and person reliability are 0.9 (good) and 0.40. Cronbach’s alpha has a value of 0.53. The MNSQ-ZSTD infit-outfit score is in a suitable category. Each item is relatively accurate and do not have DIF. In addition, the EQT is suitable to measure students’ PSS because it has passed the criteria. The EQT incorporates indicators for problem-solving, making it appropriate for 21st-century learning with an ethnoscience “Kerapan Sapi” problem context. Future studies can use this problem-solving test to determine the profiles of students’ problem-solving abilities using Rasch analysis
Modelling computational thinking with game-based learning among primary school students’
The computational thinking (CT) skills of students will be revised, increasing their future viewpoint in the sphere of scientific activities, notably in education interest. Game-based learning (GBL) appears to have the potential to improve students’ motivation to learn. Students’ GBL is associated with higher mathematics performance, and GBL’s strong relationship with CT may have an even larger effect. The entirety of this CT education research is focused on undergraduate classrooms; little is revealed about how GBL support CT in K-12, particularly in primary schools. This study utilized a Structural Equation Model (SEM) in modelling the relationship between CT and GBL among primary school students. A sample of 90 primary school students from Malaysia was chosen. In this study, the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was employed to develop the model. The results demonstrate that empirical evidence, coupled with prior observations verified the model developed. The developed model successfully confirmed all the indicator variables stated in the constructs as all of the associations within the model were significant. In conclusion, the lower order components (LOC) along with the hierarchical component model (HCM) in PLS-SEM depicted the relationship between CT and GBL, substantiated empirically
Neuroeducation and impact on higher education: a systematic review
The educational system is always seeking to optimize the teaching-learning process through new methodologies. In this sense, there is an effort to improve the student’s academic performance through the acquisition of the desired knowledge that will also last in time. Given this reality, neuroeducation is born as a contribution to the development of the educational system within a scientific basis that understands the way people learn. In this context, the objectives were to determine the impact of neuroeducation in higher education and to describe the current state of strategies based on neuroeducation in the higher educational context. Therefore, a systematic review of the literature was carried out applying the PRISMA method, establishing a periodic range of 5 years (2018-2023). The articles selected in this review were 47 documents. The results showed that this discipline has many benefits for students to learn properly, although teachers have little knowledge about it. Finally, it is concluded that neuroeducation brings with it strategies to improve teaching based on stimuli and motivation, thus achieving a good academic performance by the student

Structural equation modelling was used to examine our primary data, which has been collected from a distributed online questionnaire dedicated to 222 students enrolled in Hungarian language courses at MATE University. The findings reveal that students’ feedback has a direct, significant, and positive effect on students’ engagement in online classes and teaching effectiveness, which itself plays a mediating role in that relationship
Teaching profession is stressful: lesson learned from Heilongjiang Province
Numerous studies have documented elevated levels of job-related stress among teachers worldwide. Prolonged exposure to high levels of stress among teachers ultimately results in career burnout, directly contributing to a decrease in teacher recruitment rates as well as the depletion of valuable teaching resources. This study’s objective is to examine the causes of work stress among primary school teachers in Heilongjiang Province, China, and to explore the strategies adopted by headmasters to reduce teachers’ work stress. This study adopts a qualitative research design. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with six respondents from two primary schools in Heilongjiang, China. The finding indicates that primary school teachers have great work pressure, mainly from the factors of workload, interpersonal relationships, salary, and personal development. Some feasible countermeasures were put forward to relieve the pressure which include the management should establish good interpersonal relationships and appropriate evaluation and incentive mechanisms. Teachers’ workload should be reduced, and unnecessary meetings and inspections should be reduced. Teachers should be guided to adjust their mentality and make reasonable career plans. This study concludes methods to alleviate work stress among teachers can be implemented through various means by school management
Teachers’ attitudes towards student-centered pedagogy and assessment practices: instruction efficacy in perspective
The advancement of students’ knowledge, skills, and other learning experiences is the goal of student-centered pedagogy and assessment practices, and teachers’ attitudes toward implementing these principles are vital to ensure classroom instruction efficacy. From this standpoint, this study aimed to examine English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers’ attitude toward student-centered pedagogy and assessment practices in the Saudi EFL context concerning classroom instruction efficacy. Also, it correlated the participants’ responses with their gender, experience, degree, and specialization. The descriptive survey design was used to achieve the study objectives. The study tools, a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were applied to a convenient sample of 73 faculty members. The results showed that the study sample (EFL teachers) had very positive attitudes towards pedagogy and assessment practices focused on students. In addition, the demographic variables of gender, experience, degree, and specialization had no significant role in affecting their responses to pedagogy and assessment practices. Finally, the interviewees expressed that the EFL classroom instruction efficacy can improve the situation in which students are more active, cooperative, responsible, engaged, communicative, and free. In light of the current results, the researchers proposed recommendations and implications

Estimation of Cronbach reliability based on sample size, gender, and the grades
The study tries to see the effect of different sample sizes on the reliability of creativity tests using Cronbach’s alpha. In addition, the background of the sample (gender and grade) is also detected. The study has a practical significance for designing a sample for estimating reliability using Cronbach alpha. The secondary data are used for analysis. The sample of creativity test is determined purposively, that is, has been administered to 1,960 students. The α-coefficient calculation uses the SPSS program. The result proves in the total sample, the creativity test is reliable (α=0.852). In small sample sizes, the α-coefficients values vary greatly in the different test groups. In the larger sample size, the α-coefficients are closer to constant in the different test groups. For a polytomous scale test with a length of 20 items, the α-coefficients obtained close to constant on the sample size of more than 80 testees. This result indicates for the optimum result the sample size is at least four times larger than the number of test items in reliability analysis, especially Cronbach alpha. Based on the gender aspect, descriptively the α-coefficient in the male group (0.846) was almost equal to the female group (0.851). By grouping the testees based on the grades, there are slight differences in α-coefficients in class IV (0.850), class V (0.841), and class VI (0.809). Regarding the results of this study, in the reliability estimation of test development, it is suggested to consider the adequacy and the characteristic of samples
