Izydora Dąmbska wobec filozofii analitycznej
Izydora Dąmbska (1904–1983) was an outstanding Polish philosopher of the 20th century. She was a thinker with exceptionally wide interests. Her research areas included epistemology and methodology of philosophy, i.e. metaphilosophy in the strict sense of the word, as well as selected figures and trends in contemporary analytic philosophy. Dąmbska’s works in this field allows one to identify and describe her own metaphilosophical position and attitude towards the analytic philosophical tradition. She was an advocate of a moderate form of linguistic philosophy and of moderate reconstructionism, which she combined with the utmost importance of philosophy and its cognitive and existential role. From this point of view, she accurately criticized some of the metaphilosophical ideas of the Vienna Circle and Ludwig Wittgenstein. As a knowledgeable researcher of categories of convention and conventionalism, she was able to appreciate and evaluate David Lewis’s philosophical conception of convention.
On Conley theory for generalized Gutierrez-Sotomayor flows
This paper presents a study, based on Conley's theory, of continuous flows on singular surfaces that admit singularities such as -sheet cones,
-sheet cross-caps,
-sheet double crossings, -sheet triple crossings, and mixed
Gutierrez-Sotomayor (GS) singularities. These flows are referred to as generalized Gutierrez-Sotomayor (GS) flows.
The Conley index for each type of singularity is computed. Furthermore,
the results from previous works on the local and global existence of Lyapunov functions are extended to encompass generalized GS singularities.
Necessary and sufficient conditions for defining a generalized GS flow on an isolating block are established. Additionally, an alternative formula,
expressed in terms of a deeper dynamical perspective, for computing the Euler-Poincaré characteristic of generalized GS manifolds is introduced
A Comprehensive Analysis of the Effects of Physical Activity, Rehabilitation Methods, Environmental and Behavioral Interventions on the Development and Progression of Myopia
Introduction: Myopia has become a significant public health problem. Traditional approaches focused on optical correction, but evidence points to the role of comprehensive intervention strategies. The aim of this review is to assess the effectiveness of physical activity, rehabilitation, and environmental and behavioral interventions in controlling the development and progression of myopia.
Materials and Methods: Conducted study involved review of the literature using databases such as PubMed, NCBI, and Google Scholar. In the searching process the terms “myopia”, “physical activity”, “diet” and “rehabilitation” were used.
State of knowledge: The global prevalence of myopia increased from 28.3% in 2010 to 34.0% in 2020, with a projected increase to 50% of the world's population by 2050. Risk factors include genetic and environmental predispositions. Outdoor physical activity can reduce the risk of developing myopia by about 40%. Optical interventions, such as MiSight lenses, showed a 59% reduction in the change of uncorrected spherical equivalent. Low-concentration atropine eye drops also showed promising results. Environmental factors can influence the development of myopia. Dietary and supplementary interventions show potential in modulating myopia development, although results are inconclusive.
Conclusions: A comprehensive approach combining physical activity, optical and pharmacological interventions, environmental modifications, and health education appears to be a promising strategy in preventing and controlling myopia progression. Further research is needed on the mechanisms of myopia development and optimization of intervention strategies.
A The Impact of Oral Creatine Supplementation on Cognitive Functions and Mental Health in Healthy Individuals
Are Artificial Sweeteners a Healthier Alternative to Sugar?
Introduction
Sweeteners are a common sugar alternative, especially in combating obesity and diabetes. With low calorie content, they appeal to health-conscious individuals. The food industry uses natural options like stevia or erythritol and synthetic ones such as aspartame or saccharin. While recognized as safe at recommended doses, debates continue about their long-term effects, emphasizing the need for further research. This paper explores the properties, benefits, and risks of sweeteners.
Aim of the Study
This study examines the effects of sweeteners on human health and evaluates their suitability as sugar substitutes for modern consumers, highlighting their benefits and potential risks.
Materials and Methods
An analysis of PubMed papers was conducted using keywords: sweeteners, artificial sweeteners, erythritol, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, aspartame, and sugar alternatives.
Basic Results
Both natural and synthetic sweeteners are used as sugar substitutes to address concerns about excessive sugar intake. Research indicates they help reduce calorie consumption and control blood sugar levels. However, uncertainties remain about their long-term health effects. Some studies suggest possible changes in metabolism or gut microbiota, but evidence is inconclusive. Regulatory bodies like the FDA deem approved sweeteners safe within recommended daily limits. Despite their advantages, further research is needed to fully understand their long-term impact.
Conclusion
Sweeteners are gaining popularity as sugar alternatives, particularly in the context of obesity and diabetes. Their variety allows for diverse dietary applications. While safe within recommended doses, questions about their long-term effects persist. They aid in weight control and glucose regulation but are not universally suitable. A balanced approach and further research are crucial

Does the consumption of soya products affect cholesterol levels, blood pressure, or other cardiovascular health indicators?
Introduction and Purpose
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading factor of mortality among people in the world. For this reason, people are trying to find factors that could improve the condition of the circulatory system. Soy is one of the most popular products in Asian cuisine. Its consumption is increasing due to a strong interest in vegetarian cuisine, in which soy is an important element. As its popularity grows, more and more research is being done to see if it has cardiovascular disease-preventing properties.
Aim of the study
This study aims to analyse the current state of knowledge regarding the effect of soy consumption on: hypertension, lipid profile, biomarkers of inflammation, vascular epithelium and impact on mortality caused by cardiovascular diseases.
Material and methods
For this review, we analyzed articles that we found in Pubmed and Google Scholar and that were related to our topic.
Conclusion
Many studies have shown a beneficial effect of soy products on lipid profile, especially in lowering LDL-C levels. Soy consumption may have an impact on modulating inflammatory markers, but further research is needed. Researchers have shown that soy may have a role in lowering blood pressure, especially in people with hypertension or an increased risk of CVD. Soy can be a part of our daily, healthy diet, but its impact on all-cause mortality and CVD depends on many factors such as people's age, comorbidity, dietary context and type of consumed soy ( e.g. fermented or not fermented)
