Antibiotics considered as miracle drugs and as one of the most demanding life-saving discoveries of the twentieth century have now imposed a threat to society due to its overuse and misuse. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global problem to which the current COVID-19 pandemic may fuel further. The high number of patients suffering from Covid-19 worldwide have been reported to suffer further from secondary microbial infections. This has become a challenge for the medical community. Hence, various non-antibiotic strategies have been sought after and their mechanisms have been evaluated to mitigate the rise of AMR. This review gives an overview of the success of the alternate methods to combat AMR

PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING AND COMPARATIVE GC–MS ANALYSIS OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS PRESENT IN METHANOLIC LEAF AND LATEX EXTRACT Calotropis gigantea (L)
Medicinal plants are considered as important source of promising bioactive compounds. Calotropis gigantea is a traditional medicinal plant which is known to have biochemical constituents with potential medicinal properties. Qualitative analysis showed the presence of alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins, tannins and cardiac glycosides and absence of flavonoids in ethanolic extract of C. gigantea, while the chloroform leaf extract showed absence of flavonoids and cardiac glycosides. Bioactive compounds since leaf and latex of C. gigantea utilized GC-MS and activity investigation. The GC-MS investigation uncovered the presence of complete 46 bioactive mixes (24 from leaves and 22 from latex) with significant movement. The majority of the mixes were discovered to be comparable in both leaf and latex, however little variety was likewise seen in their synthetic profile. The concoction mixes saw in just latex were 1-[(T-butyl) dimethyl silyl thin] butane, 1-Hexadecyne, Hexadecane, L-Glutamic corrosive, Phenol-3-isoproxy-5-methyl, Trocosane and Z-1,6-Tridecadiene. Mixes distinguished uniquely from the leaves were Azulene, Benalaxyl, Cis-vaccenic corrosive, Levomenol, Profenofos, β-Tocopherol and β-Sitosterol, while the remainder of the mixes were comparable in both leaf and latex. Major of bioactive compounds presents Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) analysis. C. gigantea is a perennial plant abundantly found in all parts of the country (India) and wild in nature. The leaves of the plant were found to contain various primary and secondary metabolites
MEASUREMENT OF FASTING BLOOD SUGAR, SERUM TOTAL PROTEIN, SERUM ALBUMIN, SERUM TOTAL BILIRUBIN, SERUM DIRECT BILIRUBIN, AND LIVER FUNCTION PARAMETERS FOR CHILDREN WITH ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA
Leukemia is a common malignancy of childhood. Leukemias are group of malignant disorders of the haematopoietic tissues that are characteristically associated with increased numbers of leucocytes in bone marrow and/or peripheral blood. The aetiology of leukemia is unknown but several lines of evidence do suggest that the disease is a result of interactions between several factors for example: viral infections, ionizing radiations, chemicals and genetic factors. The incidence of ALL varies, and depends on age, sex and race. Antineoplastic agents (cytotoxic drugs) are used in the treatment of malignant diseases when radiotherapy and surgery are not possible or they are not effective. This study aims to evaluate some of biochemical parameters in children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The results indicated that the value of parameters tested varies according to type of test (i.e. some higher than normal, some less than normal).
Matrials & Methods: Eighteen pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia children were included in this study. All were subjected to γ-tocopherol, methotrexate, vincristine, and 6-mercaptopurine chemotherapy treatment. Serum fasting glucose, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total protein, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase levels were measured using autoanalyser device.
Results: Of eighteen pediatric patients, two (11.11%) were hypoglycemic (22.00±1.00mg/dL), two (11.11%) with high direct bilirubin (0.50±0.00mg/dL), six (33.33%) with low total protein (3.83±0.85gm/dL), eight (44.44%) with low albumin (2.47±0.41gm/dL), four (22.22%) with low alkaline phosphatase (20.50±11.83U/L), six (33.33%) with high alanine aminotransferase (136.66±37U/l)., and ten (55.56%) with high aspartate aminotransferase (238.60±39.15IU/L).
Conclusions: malignancy of disease and chemotherapy treatment negatively affected biochemical levels included in this study, liver function, and nutritional status of patients.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ARE TAKEN BY COUNTRIES TO REDUCE THE TRANSMISSION OF THE COVID-19
To limit the spread of COVID-19, the governments advise avoiding all non-essential travel outside until further notice. Aim: This review study aimed to find out the precautionary measures taken by governments to reduce transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. Such countries have either suspended visas or do not allow visitors from infected countries to enter. Many airlines are suspending flights. Many airports are closing, preventing flights from leaving. Exit bans are becoming more frequent. The instructions that the European Union followed when the restriction should be lifted from countries that adhere to the standards set by member states together, including health status, ability to apply containment measures while traveling, and reciprocity considerations, keeping in mind the relevant data emanating from ECDC and WHO
