The Role of Interpersonal Communication in First-born Female Generation Z as a Sandwich Generation in Medan Sunggal
This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of first-born daughters of Generation Z who play the role of the sandwich generation in multigenerational family structures. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study delves into the deeper meanings of the dual roles played by the respondents through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. The study involved five participants selected using purposive sampling, with criteria including being the first-born daughter aged between 21 and 26 years, residing in Medan Sunggal District, and actively involved in meeting the emotional and economic needs of their families. Data analysis was conducted thematically using the Miles and Huberman model, validated through triangulation, member checking, and academic discussion. The results of the study indicate that first-born daughters face structural, emotional, and cultural pressures that demand adaptive resilience. Open, empathetic, and equal interpersonal communication is the primary tool for negotiating expectations and maintaining psychological stability within the family. The three theories used interpersonal communication, role burden, and family system are able to explain the complexity of power relations and responsibilities within the family. These three concepts are interconnected in shaping the dynamics of the dual roles performed by the informants, where communication serves as the primary mechanism for managing role burdens within the demanding family system structure. These findings emphasize that dual roles are not merely practical but also emotional, making them crucial figures in maintaining family balance. This study recommends support from families, communities, and educational institutions in creating safe and dialogic spaces for first-born daughters so that their roles can be more psychosocially sustainable

Mediating Role of Knowledge and Moderating Role of Subjective Norm: Theory of Reasoned Action Approach to Keris Sumenep
Keris is one of the objects of study that is very interesting to study. The research develops a model from the theory of reasoned action using knowledge variables as mediating and moderating variables and subjective norms as moderating variables. This research aims to determine the influence of attitude on purchase intentions, the influence of knowledge as a mediating and moderating variable, and subjective norms as a moderating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach. This research was conducted in Sumenep. The object used in this research is Keris. Two hundred respondents were taken using a purposive sampling method. Hypothesis testing was done using simple linear and hierarchical regression analyses for moderation and mediation tests. The findings of this research show that attitude has a significant effect on knowledge and consumer purchasing intentions. Consumer knowledge also has an important influence on purchase intention. The knowledge variable moderates and mediates the influence of attitude on consumer purchase intention. The subjective norm does not moderate the influence of attitude on purchase intention. This research concludes that attitude notably influences knowledge and intention to make purchases. Knowledge can moderate and mediate the influence of attitude on consumer purchase intentions. The subjective norm variable does not moderate the influence of attitude on purchase intention. This research provides additional studies regarding the TRA theory by adding the knowledge variable as a moderating variable and the subjective norms as moderating variables
Community Empowerment to Reduce Extreme Poverty in Garut Regency Through Business Incubators
Extreme poverty remains a persistent challenge in Indonesia, with approximately 2.5% of the population living on less than $2.15 per day (World Bank, 2023). This condition is not solely economic but also deeply intertwined with social and cultural dimensions, limiting access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. This study examines the impact of business incubators on reducing extreme poverty in Garut Regency by analyzing changes in income and managerial knowledge using paired t-tests. The findings indicate a significant increase in income, with an average growth of 35% (p-value = 0.000), alongside a notable improvement in managerial knowledge (p-value = 0.001) following participation in the incubator program. These results underscore the effectiveness of business incubators in enhancing both financial stability and entrepreneurial capacity. However, critical challenges remain, particularly regarding access to capital and heightened market competition, which disproportionately affect entrepreneurs in remote areas. To address these barriers and ensure the long-term sustainability of incubator initiatives, stronger collaboration among local governments, financial institutions, and the private sector is essential. Such partnerships can facilitate targeted financial support and broader market access. Overall, this research affirms the role of business incubators as a strategic tool for community empowerment and poverty alleviation, while emphasizing the need for ongoing support mechanisms and policy innovation to foster resilient, inclusive economic development in disadvantaged regions such as Garut Regency
The Determinant Analysis of Happiness at Work (HAW): A Systematic Literature Review
This study aims to enhance the understanding of happiness at work (HAW) by examining its dimensions and characteristics. Furthermore, it investigates the generation of knowledge concerning HAW through various theoretical frameworks, contextual elements, and methodological approaches. The study also identifies potential future avenues for HAW research. This paper undertakes a systematic literature review of 42 selected empirical articles published from 2010 to 2024, providing an in-depth exploration of HAW. It evaluates trends in publication, dimensions, characteristics, theoretical frameworks, contextual influences, and the research methodologies applied in HAW studies. The results indicate that while research on HAW has gained considerable traction, a significant need remains for further exploration, especially in developing countries. The study identifies several theoretical frameworks, including the job demand-resources model, social exchange theory, and broaden-and-build theory. It also recommends the incorporation of less frequently utilized theories, such as the positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment (PERMA) model, alongside flow theory, for future research initiatives. This review enriches the literature on workplace happiness by providing a thorough analysis and offers valuable insights to inform future research into the factors affecting employee well-being
Motivation, Environment, and Culture as Determinants of Employees’ Performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa
Employee performance is a critical factor in ensuring service quality within the hospitality industry, particularly in luxury resort settings where expectations are high. However, limited research has examined how internal organizational factors influence performance in this context. This study aims to examine the effect of work motivation, work environment, and organizational culture on employee performance at Maya Ubud Resort and Spa in Bali. A quantitative method was employed, using data collected from employees with a minimum of two years of tenure through a structured questionnaire. The results indicate that work motivation and work environment both have a positive and significant impact on employee performance, while organizational culture does not show a significant direct effect. The model developed in this study explains approximately 82% of the variance in employee performance. These findings suggest that enhancing motivation and improving work conditions are essential for boosting employee effectiveness. Although organizational culture did not exhibit a direct influence, its potential long-term or indirect effects may be relevant for further study. The research offers practical insights for human resource development in the hospitality sector, particularly in designing strategies that align internal organizational factors with employee performance improvement goals
