Get PDFDistance Learning which is currently being implemented as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic which has lasted for almost 1.5 years has caused psychological problems for students. The problems that arise include boredom due to monotonous learning, less interactive, and piling tasks. The level of education that is quite affected due to the implementation of Distance Learning is elementary school education. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to do a learning that is able to restore student motivation in learning. Mutiara Bunda Jember Foundation in collaboration with Renewable Energy Engineering lecturers at the Politeknik Negeri Jember held an interesting and interactive lesson entitled "Fun Physics Experiment". This activity was attended by 30 participants from various grade levels at the elementary school level. The results of the pretest and posttest questionnaires showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge of light refraction, air pressure, combustion and pressure processes, heat transfer and density. In addition, after the "Fun Physics Experiment" activity, it was found that the level of interest of participants in Physics lessons increased, there were 7 participants who were very interested in Physics lessons and 23 participants were interested in Physics lessons

Frozen food has the opportunity to be a business to improve family welfare. Women also play a role in improving the welfare of their families. Training and demonstrations in making frozen food dumplings from shrimp and donuts from pumpkin were conducted to women who are members of Dharma Wanita Persatuan Jember Regency. All participants were able to make shrimp dumplings and pumpkin donuts well. The next training plan is packaging techniques training using a vacuum sealer, so that participants can pack their homemade products in good packaging, do not leak and have high durability when marketed. Participants also need training on how to market products so that the rproducts can be well absorbed by the market

Coffee production in East Java is the largest in Indonesia, one of the coffee-producing areas in East Java, namely Jember Regency. Some of the factors causing it, one of them from cultivation techniques and inadequate care and maintenance. In particular, many coffee pests are not handled properly. In addition, there is a factor in the level of technology absorption and the application of farm management as well as a less efficient and effective marketing system which has an impact on the income level of farmers. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate cultivation techniques and maintain coffee plants in order to maintain optimal coffee growth and produce better fruit, so as to increase farmers' income. The microcontroller-based sprayer battery is an innovative sprayer to increase coffee production in Klungkung village. The stages of this service activity start from the stage of preparation and coordination with partners, digging information (literature studies) in compiling counseling and training materials from controlling plant pest organisms, especially coffee from spraying techniques according to SOPs, coffee production management, to the coffee marketing system. The results of this dedication is the farmer of Klungkung village get benefits in good coffee cultivation techniques and in spraying pests using Power Sprayer technology

Factors that affect the frequency of children getting sick are the tropics, where tropical areas like Indonesia are good for germs to breed, for example flu, malaria, dengue fever, and diarrhea. These various diseases are usually more prevalent in the transitional season. High fever can cause seizures which in this case are called febrile seizures. A febrile seizure is an emergency in children that must be treated immediately. One of the first aids is with a warm tepid sponge compress. The method used is health education with lectures, group discussions and workshops on tepid sponge compresses. As for what has been done: (1) draw up an activity plan, implementation schedule, technical instructions, supporting facilities and media, (2) hold training on tepid sponge compresses. After training, workshops, and mentoring were held, posyandu cadres and women of childbearing age at Posyandu partners in Wirowongso Village, 80% had knowledge of the Tepid Sponge Good compress and 20% had sufficient knowledge while those who had less knowledge did not exist. Women of childbearing age before and after training, workshops, and mentoring with a p value of 0.003. This shows that the knowledge of Posyandu cadres and women of childbearing age has been able to provide an analysis of the fever problems experienced by children and how to prevent and early management of the problems experienced. The psychomotor abilities of posyandu cadres and women of childbearing age at the Posyandu partners in Wirowongso Village in doing the Tepid Sponge compress are good and able to do it correctly

Breastfeeding is one way to provide the best nutrition for babies and strengthen the bond between mother and baby. Breast milk contains immune-forming antibodies which can help fight viral bacteria so that breastfed babies are at less risk of developing diseases such as: diarrhea, asthma, allergies, ear infections, respiratory tract infections, constipation, sudden infant death syndrome and meningitis. The aim of this health education for community empowerment is to increase the knowledge of TM III pregnant women about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. The method used in this counseling is by presenting material using lecture and demonstration methods using communication media such as leaflets. The number of respondents was 12 people, carried out on October 18 2023. Pretest and posttest were carried out to evaluate the mother's knowledge before and after counseling. The results of the evaluation of mothers' knowledge before the counseling was carried out showed that 5 people (20%) were in the good category and there was an increase in mothers' knowledge to 12 people (88%) after the counseling was in the good category

Most of the people of Jember have jobs as capital in diversifying nutritional sources made from vegetables and are able to support the health status of the community. Complications of pregnant women is one of the health problems experienced by many pregnant women. Complications of pregnant women can be done by consuming healthy and diverse nutrition. However, hopefully people still don't know how to make processed food so that nutrition is maintained and more attractive. One effort that can be done is to empower mothers who are members of the posyandu to become the main pillar in helping prevent complications in pregnant women through the vegetable-eating movement program. Processed vegetable products are one of the creations to increase public support in consuming vegetables. The methods applied include the stages of preparation, implementation and evaluation. This stimulus community partnership program (PKMS) activity was carried out at the Posyandu Dusun Tgil, Kemiri Village, Panti District, Jember Regency, which was attended by 42 posyandu mothers consisting of 10 cadres, 2 midwives, and 30 posyandu members. Activities that have been carried out are in the form of counseling about the movement to eat vegetables, the benefits of vegetables for health and how to process vegetables so that the nutrients contained in them are not lost as well as healthy vegetable processing competitions by pregnant women. Based on the activities that have been carried out, there has been an increase in both the knowledge and skills of partners in processing vegetable-based foods as well as understanding the benefits of vegetables for pregnant women

Get PDFSidodadi village, Tempurejo sub-district is one of the villages in the southern part of Jember Regency. The majority of the population works in the agricultural sector. The village is known as an agriculture-based village in Jember Regency. The “Ngudi Rejeki” Farmer's Group in Sidodadi Village, Tempurejo District, Jember is constrained by the problem of increasing non-subsidized fertilizer prices which makes it an obstacle in increasing agricultural yields. On the other hand, the regulation of subsidized fertilizers is quite limited among farmers so that it is suspected that it will increase production costs. The results of direct discussions with partners revealed an interesting fact that the average use of chemical fertilizers is very high even though currently the use of organic fertilizers can reduce production costs with the basic ingredients for making fertilizers derived from agricultural production residues. This area has a lot of waste rice straw and cow dung that has not been utilized. Some of the solutions offered to deal with partner problems include socializing the use of organic fertilizers, one of which is trichocompost fertilizer as a substitute for the use of chemical fertilizers, demonstrations on how to make trichocompost fertilizer with cow dung as raw material with the biodecomposer Trichoderma sp. This extension activity is carried out with a participatory approach, which means that farmers as extension participants are actively involved in the activity. The method used in the implementation of community service is socialization, discussion, and demonstration of making trichocompost fertilizer. The results of the socialization of trichocompost organic fertilizer obtained as many as 77% of farmers interested in using trichocompost fertilizer as soil improvement fertilizer

Get PDFThe number of people with diabetes mellitus is increasing every year, even statistics show that in 2020 Indonesia is ranked 7th in the world. Many people still do not know how to understand diabetes mellitus and a healthy lifestyle, as well as the use of medicinal plants as antidiabetic. The use of herbal medicine has many advantages. One type of medicinal plant that is effective as a diabetes treatment therapy in the Indonesian Traditional Medicine Formulary (FROTI) is cinnamon. This activity has the aim of providing socialization and education to the public in the health sector about diabetes mellitus and anti-diabetic medicinal plants, especially cinnamon which is developed in dye bags. The implementation method is carried out virtually, considering the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, with 3 stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage and the follow-up stage. The result of this PPM activity is the implementation of online seminars and education through infographic posters and videos and shows that the public is becoming more educated in their knowledge about diabetes treatment efforts by utilizing various types of medicinal plants and how to process them. The results of this activity can be concluded that the education and information activities carried out can increase public understanding and knowledge about diabetes mellitus, as well as understanding of various types of antidiabetic medicinal plants that can be utilized by the community .This is based on the results of the pre-test and post-test as a measure of the success of this PPM activity
