Penerapan Budidaya Hidroponik Sistem Vertikal di SMPN 7 Jember Sebagai Langkah Solutif Program Urban Farming

    Get PDF
A significant global issue faced by urban areas worldwide is the extensive conversion of agricultural land. In Indonesia, data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2021 indicates that the conversion of national rice fields ranges from 60,000 to 80,000 hectares annually. This trend poses a serious threat to the availability of rice and other food sources. Therefore, urban agriculture represents a practical solution for ensuring food availability in a sustainable and independent manner. One applicable technology is the Vertical Hydroponic Farming System. The objectives of this initiative are: (a) to equip teachers with technical skills so they can serve as trainers for their students, and (b) to provide technical support to SMPN 7 Jember, an environmentally friendly school, in its pursuit of achieving Adiwiyata School status at the East Java provincial level by 2024. The methods employed include: (a) delivering theoretical foundations of hydroponic farming systems through traditional lectures, (b) hands-on practice involving the construction of hydroponic installations, seeding and transplanting techniques, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling, and (c) implementing hydroponic installations and cultivation at SMPN 7 by actively engaging both teachers and students. In conclusion: (a) there was a 110% increase in teachers' knowledge and skills related to hydroponic farming, with evaluation results of the technical guidance averaging 4.9 (very good), and (b) the implementation of hydroponic installations and cultivation at SMPN 7 Jember progressed smoothly, supporting the school in its goal of achieving Adiwiyata School status at the provincial level

Even though Law No. 16 of 2019 regulates that the minimum age limit for men and women to marry is 19 years. Apart from traditional factors, many other factors cause early marriage, such as promiscuity, economic factors, and also the lack of legal literacy in society regarding the age limit for marriage. Therefore, we are conducting counselling to increase legal literacy regarding early marriage in Pocangan Village, Jember Regency to reduce and prevent early marriage cases. The method used in this activity is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), From all stages of service, it was successful in improving public literacy and understanding of marriage laws including age limits for marriage, as well as public awareness to comply with regulations, as well as being able to prevent early marriage and provide positive education to other communities. However, in terms of awareness regarding continuing education, the level of education is still low. Because there is no social or institutional support for continuing school

The literacy of green economy among Indonesian people is still very minimal so that its implementation is still very low. The concept of green economy is closely related to social welfare, environmental sustainability, and renewable energy, biodiversity, and emission reduction. Green economy answers the economic challenges in Indonesia, which lately is still rampant exploitation in the field of natural resources. In addition, the concept of green economy is very relevant to the concept of sharia economics or Islamic economics which both carry out the principle of environmental sustainability and prohibit things that cause damage. However, the two economic concepts are still not well implemented due to the lack of literacy among the community. To answer these problems, researchers decided to increase literacy in the field of green economy and Islamic economics which was carried out through socialization and making environmentally friendly products and coupled with digital marketing training, because digital marketing is in line with the principles of green economy where practically, digital marketing is a very environmentally friendly sales and promotion method because it does not use media derived from the exploitation of natural resources. This community service activity was carried out at the Darul Ulum Islamic boarding school, Kasihan village, Tegalombo sub-district, Pacitan district. The socialization participants were students from the boarding school

Sosialisasi Penggunaan Portabel Alat Pemantauan Suhu, Kelembaban dan Gas Ammonia Kandang Ayam Broiler Pada UKM Peternakan Hasanah

    Get PDF
UKM Peternakan Hasanah is a broiler chicken farming business with a closed house system established in 2022 in Sumber Baru Village, Jember Regency. This farm raises 10,000 chickens with a harvest period at the age of 28 to 32 days. One of the main problems is manual monitoring of temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas, resulting in a lack of precision and efficiency. As a solution, technology is applied in the form of a portable monitoring tool using a DHT22 sensor for temperature and humidity and an MQ137 sensor for ammonia gas. Data from the sensor is processed with ESP32 and stored on a microSD card. The implementation method used is Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), which involves partners in every stage, from situation analysis, tool making, mentoring, to evaluation. This program produces a monitoring tool that is cheap, portable, and easy to use, with an increase in partner understanding from 30% to 80%. As a result, the chicken mortality rate has decreased and the efficiency of cage management has increased. This program is expected to become a model for sustainable technology for broiler chicken farming in Indonesia

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM) at the basic education level is divided into three stages of learning outcomes, namely phase A, phase B, and phase C. The flow of learning objectives (ATP) is a new way as a "syllabus", namely for planning, setting learning and assessment in outline according to the characteristics and competencies developed by each subject at the end of each phase. This form of service is carried out in collaboration with SD Muhammadiyah Kaliwates (SD HAMKA), which is one of the educational business charities of Muhammadiyah which has only been established for 3 years in Jember. By using participatory assistance methods, implementation is carried out in 4 stages, namely needs mapping, pumped group discussions with experts, mentoring and evaluation. During the pumped group discussion, it was known that there were obstacles in the implementation of activities. First, the implementation of IKM in classes 1 and 2 only, while class 3 still uses K13. The 3rd grade teacher hasn't understood yet. Second, SD HAMKA has not appointed grade 4 teachers as partners for grade 3 teachers in formulating ATP in phase B. This makes it difficult for grade 3 teachers to develop ATP. The third obstacle, teachers experience limited time and means to complete ATP development

Indonesia, as a country with two-thirds of the ocean, is located at the confluence of three major tectonic plates, namely Indo-Australia, Pacific and Eurasia, making it vulnerable to natural disasters such as megathrusts on the west and south coasts and megathrusts in the north and east that can trigger tsunamis. Lampung Province is one of the areas with high disaster risk based on the Indonesian Disaster Prone Index (IRBI). Therefore, the government has adopted the Destana program as a community-based disaster risk reduction effort. Sukaraja Village, located in South Lampung Regency, faces disaster threats such as landslides, tidal floods and tsunamis. The Destana program has been implemented in this village since 2012 by the South Lampung Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). To evaluate this program, this community service uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model which includes evaluating the context, input, process, and product of the program with mixed methods. The results of community service show that the objectives of the Destana program in Sukaraja Village are appropriate in dealing with disaster risk. Although there are still some efforts that have not been implemented and unmet deficiencies in program resources and strategies, the Destana program as a whole has been running well. However, there are shortcomings in terms of issuing a Decree (SK) that supports Destana activities, which has an impact on access to village funds. Monitoring and evaluation of this program has been carried out by BPBD, but not yet by village officials. Sukaraja Village has shown results in implementing the Disaster Resilient Village program since 2012, although there are still aspects that need to be improved
