SPORT AS A PROTECTIVE FACTOR: A PILOT STUDY ON RELATIONAL DIMENSIONS IN INDIVIDUALS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS

The present pilot study, within a context of a lack of recent research investigating the development of relational skills in individuals with visual impairments compared to their non-disabled peers, explores the relationship between sports participation and relational dimensions in a sample of individuals with severe visual impairments. The results show a positive correlation between sports and the perception of relational abilities, suggesting that sports may be a protective factor against social difficulties stemming from visual impairment. Past research highlights a high tendency towards social isolation among adults with visual impairments. Visual loss, especially at an early age, hinders social development, and in this regard, sports can serve as a protective factor for the development of social skills to contribute to the improvement of well-being and quality of life of visually impaired individuals

FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE: ASSESSING INITIAL EXPECTATIONS AND SELF-PERCEPTION OF TEACHERS ENROLLED IN THE 30 CFU QUALIFICATION PATHWAYS

This mixed-methods study explores expectations and self-perception of 1,493 teachers enrolled in Pegaso University’s 30-ECTS qualification pathways. Survey and metaphor analysis show that teaching experience shapes views of student achievement, motivation, and behavior. Training needs are broad, with high demand for practical tools and reflective inquiry. Metaphors act as interpretive lenses for teacher efficacy, guiding program design and support strategies. Findings inform policy and research.

EDUCATIONAL AND REHABILITATIVE INTERVENTIONS FOR EGOCENTRIC AND ALLOCENTRIC FRAMES OF SPATIAL COGNITION IN CONGENITAL BLINDNESS: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY OVERVIEW

Navigation depends on spatial cognition (SC). The blind use alternative sensory modalities. This narrartive overview examines SC in the blind, focusing on egocentric and allocentric frames. Showing that unlike egocentric, allocentric orientation is delayed, troubling navigating large-scale environments. Visual cortex’s plasticity allows compensatory use of auditory and tactile inputs, partially supporting allocentric abilities. Tailored educational and rehabilitative multisensory interventions can bridge developmental gaps of SC

THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES ON YOUTH SPORTS DROPOUT: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS

This review explores how digital technologies affect youth sport dropout. While AI, virtual platforms, and apps can enhance motivation and training, they may also cause distraction, sedentariness, and low self-esteem. By analyzing current literature, the study suggests how educational settings can use technology to reduce dropout and promote long-term engagement in sports

THE ADAPTIVE EFFECTS OF COGNITIVE MOTOR TRAINING

This study explores the effects of Cognitive Motor Training (CMT) in improving cognitive and motor skills, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. CMT integrates motor and cognitive exercises, promoting a synergy between brain functions that favors functional adaptation and self-regulation. The results show significant improvements in educational inclusion and quality of life.

AGBL: THE ATTITUDE OF ITALIAN TEACHERS TOWARDS THE USE OF GBL IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Despite the recognized pedagogical value of Game-Based Learning (GBL), its diffusion in the Italian school system is hindered by perceptions, competencies, and curricular constraints. The study, based on the AGBL questionnaire administered to a heterogeneous sample of teachers, highlights that familiarity with games and specific training facilitate its adoption, while training gaps, difficulties in curricular integration, and cultural resistance limit its use

PHYSICAL LITERACY AND ACTIVE BREAKS IN SCHOOL THAT PROMOTE HEALTH: GUIDELINES FOR TEACHER TRAINING

In the National context there is a worrying increase in sedentary behaviors among school-age children. Physical Literacy becomes particularly significant. Active breaks can serve as an effective educational strategy to promote health. However, the effectiveness of such interventions relies on teachers’ competence. Specific training in methodologies for teaching physical activity needed to enable teachers to plan inclusive and interdisciplinary interventions

EXPLORING FACULTY PERCEPTIONS TOWARD UDL AND NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION. THE D.A.N.T.E.-U. PROJECT

The study, presenting the results emerging from a survey conducted at four Italian universities partner of the D.A.N.T.E.-U. network, explores the perceptions of faculty members in the Primary Education Sciences degree program with respect to non-traditional student population needs and to the degree of adherence to or divergence from UDL principles in their university teaching practices. The results show that universities struggle to meet the increasingly diverse educational needs of students and faculty members rarely adopt UDL-based teaching strategies

PHYSIOLOGICAL REGULATION AND MULTISENSORY ENVIRONMENTS: AN ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC COHERENCE AND HEART RATE VARIABILITY IN UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This study examines the impact of a multisensory environment on the physiological regulation of upper secondary students. Using biometric sensors, heart rate, coherence, and coherence peaks were recorded in both classroom and sensory room. Results showed greater physiological stability and a significant reduction in coherence peaks in the multisensory setting

THE “BELLA SCOLA” IN “LOCO APERTO”. THE DIVINE COMEDY AS ARCHETYPE OF OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy can be interpreted as an archetype of outdoor education. The divine poet's journey through the three realms of the afterlife is a sort of school, "in loco aperto”. From a pedagogical-methodological perspective, the poem also offers suggestive insights into the benefits of an educational journey that takes place in an open environment through an experiential and emotional approach capable of bringing the poet and all humanity back on the "right path.
