THE INCLUSIVE VALUE OF BASKIN IN SCHOOLS: A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON ATTITUDES TOWARD DISABILITY
This contribution aims to assess whether a Baskin-based intervention is effective in improving peers' attitudes toward disability. To this end, a quasi-experimental study was conducted on a sample of 417 students, who completed the ATDP (Yuker, Block, & Young, 1970). The results show that students in the experimental group—but not those in the control group—exhibited a significant reduction in negative attitudes toward disability
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN FITNESS AND SPORT CONTEXT: THE LOSS OF RELATIONSHIPS
The applications use smartphones, GPS systems and gyroscopes to analyse movement: speed, angles and arrangement of body segments. These tools allow you to compare movements with ideal models and provide customized feedback. AI in sports contexts is impressive (both for angular analysis and for total body detection in large areas) but it cannot replace the interactive and interpretive role of people and the real teacher-student relationship
The educational role of space in the learning and development process: a scoping review
This scoping review explores the role of educational space not only as a physical context but as an active factor shaping learning and development from early childhood. A search across three databases identified 31 studies. Thematic analysis revealed four interconnected areas that foster optimal conditions for learning and development: the learning environment (indoor and outdoor), play, relationship, and the use of technologies
DISABILITY AND ORIENTATION: INCLUDE, SUPPORT, GROW TOGETHER
School guidance for people with disabilities is crucial for promoting social and professional inclusion, allowing them to fully express their potential. A key aspect of this process is the collaboration between families, schools, and universities, which must work together to support students with disabilities in their educational and professional paths. The current methods of collaboration will be analyzed, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, with the aim of proposing practical solutions to optimize orientation and promote inclusion
SOCIAL NETWORKS FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF COMMUNICATIVE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH PIMD: A CASE STUDY
In recognizing communication as a fundamental right, Special Pedagogy aligns with the main international references (Maes et al., 2007; Nind & Strnadova, 2020; Sigafoos, 2021, 2025), highlighting the need to ensure equal communication opportunities for people with Profound Intellectual Multiple Disabilities (PIMD). From this perspective, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) emerges as a strategic approach to building inclusive educational pathways, fostering the development of contextualized communication skills. This paper analyzes the role of AAC in designing individualised interventions, focusing on using the Social Networks (Blackstone & Hunt Berg, 2003) as an assessment tool for detecting communicative needs and interactive dynamics. The proposed research aims to highlight the importance of using complex communication needs assessment procedures within the educational intake in order to improve the participation and self-determination of people with PIMD
THE IMPORTANCE OF BODY NARRATIVE IN ADULT LEARNING PROCESS
In the contemporary society, increasingly permeated by technology, social networks and virtual worlds driven by artificial intelligence, the processes of interaction and learning are transforming. These changes, as shown by studies on embodied cognition, knowledge is rooted in physical experience and, consequently, the body takes a prominent role in learning pathways. Starting from a series of considerations on the relationship between the body and learning in an interdisciplinary perspective, this article aims to investigate the importance of body narrative in the context of adult education
PHYSICAL LITERACY AND HOLONIC THEORY: AN INTEGRATED APPROACH IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING
In physical education, the approach based on physical literacy places the individual at the center of the learning process, encouraging the dynamic interaction between body and environment and supporting an integrated development that involves physical, cognitive and social aspects. The proposed model emphasizes the importance of situated learning and cooperation, underlining how physical education can be a tool to improve overall well-being and promote autonomy and active participation of students in everyday life. Through Koestler's holonic theory, which interprets each element as both part of a larger system and as an independent entity, a theoretical basis for inclusive and flexible teaching is established. This approach can help build skills that last over time, creating an educational context that can adapt to the specific needs of each individual, while promoting cooperation and understanding between peers
ENHANCING FUTURE TEACHERS’ SKILLS THROUGH SERVICE-LEARNING WITHIN THE COMPLEXITY PARADIGM
The public nature of education demands a renewed community-based pact. Building an educational ecosystem engaging diverse social actors fosters shared methodologies and co-responsibility. Teachers are key to weaving networks between schools and communities and to developing students’ skills for complexity. Service-Learning (SL) offers an effective approach, requiring specific competencies. This paper explores SL's role in pre-service teacher education
UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING: A METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK FOR EDUCATIONAL EQUITY
COMPLEX DISABILITIES AND INCLUSION: A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS
Since the 2006 UN CRPD, many steps have been taken in the field of inclusion. For example, accessibility has become very important in Europe thanks to the EAA 2019. Many people with disabilities are finally fully included in social life, finding jobs, accessible activities, adaptive sports. But it's still clear that many other people with disabilities are excluded from society, especially people with complex conditions where a severe physical disability is combined with an intellectual disability. In these cases, it's necessary to activate many tailor-made interventions, attentive to the needs of each individual. This type of care involves a major commitment, which for some people may be an "unreasonable" effort, to use a provocative comparison with the basic concept of "reasonable accommodation" in the UN Convention. It is therefore essential to take up this challenge and offer educational activities that are accessible to people with complex disabilities, leaving no one behin
