Precision Planting Technology and Equipment in Advanced Crop Cultivation
Planting equipment’s function is to evenly sow the seeds (seedlings) of crops into seed ditches with certain depths and with a certain sowing amount or spacing, cover them with an appropriate amount of fine and moist soil, and fertilize and suppress them appropriately. Pesticides and herbicides can be sprayed to provide good growth conditions for plant growing, thereby achieving high and stable yields and improving production efficiency. In recent years, crop cultivation has developed in a direction that prioritizes yield and efficiency, placing higher technical demands on planting equipment. Therefore, advanced precision planting technology and equipment, an essential means to promote large-scale agricultural production, has become a research hotspot. This Special Issue focuses on precision seed-metering devices, efficient and low-loss transplanters, seed guide devices, profiling mechanisms, and intelligent planting equipment, aiming to advance technological systems and promote crop cultivation and production
Different Aesthetics
The CRC research project Different Aesthetics aims to change perspectives in aesthetic discussions by directing attention to the 2000-year history of European art and culture before the 18th century

Development on Loan
Key to China's plans to promote rural development is the de-marginalisation of the countryside through the incorporation of rural areas into the urban-based market-oriented financial system. For this reason, Chinese development planners have turned to microcredit -- i.e. the provision of small-scale loans to 'financially excluded' rural households -- as a means of increasing 'financial consciousness' and facilitating rural de-marginalisation. Drawing on in-depth fieldwork in rural China, this book examines the formulation, implementation and outcomes of government-run microcredit programmes in China-illuminating the diverse roles that microcredit plays in local processes of socioeconomic development and the livelihoods of local actors. It details how microcredit facilitates de-marginalisation for some, while simultaneously exacerbating the marginalisation of others; and exposes the ways in which microcredit and other top-down development strategies reflect and reinforce the contradictions and paradoxes implicit in rural China's contemporary development landscape
VI International Congress la ValSe-Food
The VI International Conference la ValSe-Food: Promoting biodiversity, sustainability, and food security through Ibero-American ancestral crops, organized by the International la ValSe-Food Network, was held from 23 to 25 September 2024 at the University of Lima, Peru. Ibero–American crops represent a diverse and resilient group of crops cultivated for thousands of years, largely unaltered by modern breeding techniques. These grains, which have deep-rooted histories as staple foods in various cultures around the globe, are now regaining prominence due to their superior nutritional value, unique flavors, and potential health benefits compared to modern crops. Rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, they provide both culinary diversity and health advantages like improved digestion and reduced risk of non-communicable diseases. In addition to promoting safe, sustainable, and nutritious food systems, the ValSe-Food Network underscores the critical importance of biodiversity and addresses the growing challenges posed by climate change. The network recognizes ancient crops' crucial role in preserving biodiversity, with naturally selected genetic traits having been developed over centuries. These traits enhance climate adaptability, providing vital genetic resources for breeding resilient, climate-adaptive crops. By cultivating and preserving ancient grains, the network contributes to safeguarding essential genetic diversity in agriculture, ensuring that future generations have access to the resources needed to sustain food security, protect ecosystems, and withstand the escalating pressures of climate change
