Positive discrimination against people with disabilities in the labor market
Get PDFArtykuł ma na celu ukazanie różnych aspektów realizacji koncepcji dyskryminacji pozytywnej osób z niepełnosprawnościami na rynku pracy. Poddano w nim weryfikacji następującą hipotezę badawczą: dyskryminacja pozytywna osób z niepełnosprawnościami na rynku pracy przynosi nie tylko korzyści dla nich samych, jak i całego społeczeństwa. W artykule zdefiniowano pojęcia: dyskryminacji pozytywnej oraz akcji afirmatywnej. Następnie wyjaśniono znaczenie pojęcia niepełnosprawności od strony prawnej. Zaprezentowano przykłady rozwiązań wpisujących się w koncepcję dyskryminacji pozytywnej osób z niepełnosprawnościami na rynku pracy, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rozwiązań przyjętych w Polsce. Następnie wykazano korzyści, jakie przynosi realizacja tej koncepcji. W ostatniej części artykułu wskazano na zagrożenia, jakie niesie nieprawidłowo wdrażana koncepcja dyskryminacji pozytywnej.The purpose of the article is to present various aspects of the implemen-tation of the concept of positive discrimination of disabled people in the labor market. The hypothesis that has been verified is as follows: Positive discrimination against people with disabilities in the labor market brings not only the benefits for themselves and for the whole society. The article defines the concept of posi-tive discrimination and affirmative action. Then the legal meaning of the concept of disability was explained. Examples of solutions that fit into the concept of positive discrimination of disabled people in the labor market are presented, with particu-lar emphasis on solutions adopted in Poland. Get PDFThe article is dedicated to analyzing the historiography and conceptualization of the phenomenon of eff iciency and quality of democ-racy. The author of the research outlined the defi nitive and conceptual parameters of comparative analysis of eff iciency and quality of democ-racy, argued that diff erent political regimes are more or less democratic. The article highlights various approaches, theoretical and empirical features of studying eff iciency and quality of democracy, represents the most systemic/holistic indicators and methods of operationalization of democracy quality and eff iciency. On this basis, the author actualized a unifi ed approach to the analysis and conceptualization of quality and eff iciency of democracy and argued that quality and eff iciency of democ-racy is expedient to be mentioned not in a holistic continuum of political regimes, but when a certain state is actually democratic. As a result, the research confi rmed that democracy is a multi-piece category and is able to expand its eff iciency and quality.В статье сделано попытку историографии и концептуализации феномена эффективности и качества демократии. Автор исследования очертил дефинитивные и концептуальные параметры сравнительного анализа эффективности и качества демократии. В статье выделены различные подходы, а также теоретические/эмпирические особенности изучения эффективности/качества демократии, представлены наиболее системные/целостные индикаторы и методики ее операционализации. Демократия рассматривается как многосоставная категория, котроая способна расширять свою эффективность и качество
The weaknesses of majority voting systems. A voice in the discussion on the proposed changes in the Polish voting system
Get PDFThe proposal to introduce a majority voting system has become one of the most crucial elements of rivalry in the Polish presidential campaign of 2015. It was accompanied by an accusation that the proportional voting system seemingly affects the political life in Poland, making it more and more party-dependant. The aim of the present article is to refute the above accusation and present the weaknesses of the majority voting systems, based on British political system. Comparative, historical and analytical methods will be used in order to substantiate the thesis of the article, i.e. that political parties’ influence will not be reduced due to the introduction of the majority voting system. Moreover, the article will also discuss the reasons behind and consequences of using the proportional voting system in Poland, in the light of the so called “crisis of democracy”.Propozycja wprowadzenia większościowego systemu wyborczego stała się jednym z ważniejszych elementów walki wyborczej w wyborach prezydenckich w Polsce 2015 r. Towarzyszył jej zarzut co do wpływu proporcjonalnej ordynacji wyborczej na upartyjnienie życia poli-tycznego w Polsce. Celem artykułu jest obalenie tego zarzutu i prezen-tacja słabości większościowych systemów wyborczych na podstawie doświadczeń brytyjskich. W artykule posłużono się metodą porównawczą, historyczną i analityczną, aby udowodnić słuszność tezy, że wpływ partii politycznych w systemie politycznym nie ulegnie zmniejszeniu po wpro wadzeniu większościowej ordynacji wyborczej. Get PDFIn this article, I gave the analysis of the position of Polish political parties to issues of education and gender. I analyzed the topic of philosophical issues to the LGBT community. The intention of the research was demonstrate how the parties relate to issues of gender, so it identify and propose what changes in the context of education policy. It used an analysis of existing documents (declarations, programs) and expression of individual politicians. On the basis of the study I pointed to the division between left and right side of the political scene in the context of philosophical issues.
W niniejszym artykule analizie poddano stanowiska polskich partii politycznych wobec tematyki edukacyjnej i gender. Przeanalizowano wątek kwestii światopoglądowych wobec środowiska mniejszości seksualnych. Zamierzeniem badawczym było wykazanie, jak partie odnoszą się do tematyki gender, z czym ją utożsamiają i jakie zmiany proponują w kontekście polityki edukacyjnej. Zastosowana została analiza zastanych dokumentów (deklaracji, programów) oraz wypowiedzi poszczególnych polityków. Na podstawie prowadzonych badań wskazano na podział na lewicę i prawicę w kontekście kwestii światopoglądowych
Analysis of the tourist attractiveness of selected Greek islands: comparison of the Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese and Crete of the basis of the tourist attractiveness index
Get PDFThe tourism sector is responsible for a large part of Greece\u27s GDP because the tourist assets of this country generate a lot of tourist traffic. The aim of the article is to compare the tourist attractiveness of the Ionian Islands, Dodecanese and Crete. This allowed for the creation of an attractiveness index. The following aspects were analyzed in detail: the number of tourist attractions, the number of hotels, the quality of these hotels, the number of airports and the number of seaports. Each of the elements was rated on a five-point scale. The region of the Ionian Islands turned out to be the most attractive for tourists. It has the most seaports and airports, so it is the most available in terms of communication. The number of attractions in the Ionian Islands is the largest among the studied areas.
