Teachers’ Knowledge and Application of Anecdotal Record in Assessing Basic Schools Learners’ Progress in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria
For learning to be effective, there is the need for assessment. This could be during the teaching and learning process or at the end of a unit, course or programme. Assessment has various tools among which is anecdotal record that is used to record specific observations of individual pupils/students behaviour, skills, attitudes and many more. Despite the importance and use of anecdotal record, it seems that most teachers do not have the knowledge and application of it. This study therefore, investigated teachers’ knowledge and use of anecdotal records in assessing learners’ progress in Oredo LGA Basic Schools, Edo State. The study was guided by three research questions and two hypotheses which addressed the problem of the study. The study adopted the survey research design to describe and generalize teachers’ knowledge and use of anecdotal records for assessing learners’ progress in Oredo LGA Basic Schools, Edo State. The research population comprised all the 690 teachers in the 65 Basic Schools in Oredo LGA of Edo State in the 2020 school year. A total of 345 teachers, that is, 50 percent of the research population made up the sample size. The random sampling method was used to select the sample for the study. A questionnaire titled: “Anecdotal Record Questionnaire for Basic Schools (ARQBS)” was designed, validated and pilot-tested (N=20; coefficient=0.82). It administered to the selected teachers for the study. The data collected were analysed using means, standard deviation and t-test statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that the level of teachers’ knowledge and use of anecdotal records for assessing learners’ progress in Oredo LGA Basic Schools, Edo State was low. There was no significant difference in teachers’ knowledge and use of anecdotal record for assessing learners’ progress in Oredo LGA Basic Schools, Edo State, based on teachers’ gender and academic qualification. It was recommended, based on the findings of the study, among others, that the teachers in UBE Programme, particularly the primary section, should be sensitized on the importance and use of anecdotal records as an effective tool for assessing learners’ progress in the schools
Planning Physical Facilities in the Nigerian University System
The purpose of this study was to carefully look at the importance of planning physical facilities in the Nigerian university system. Other areas of interest were the models for planning educational facilities which were rational, political and interactive. The findings revealed the issues and problems of planning physical facilities in the Nigerian university system. The study concluded that concerted efforts should be made at all times to ensure that facilities were planned and replanned in a manner that would make it easier for the institutions to deliver better education. It also recommended that university management should make effort to procure all the facilities required for teaching and learning at all cost from the suppliers. The university should also endeavour to carry out full assessment and evaluation of any proposed outsourcing strategy with a view to focusing on a number of critical success factors. Government should, through its policy, ensure that university administrators equally lay emphasis on the maintenance of their institutions

Prospects and Limitations of Machine Learning in Computer Science Education
The study examined the prospects and limitations of Machine Learning (ML) in Computer Science education. Thus, it explored the concept of ML, ML algorithms, categorization, prospects and limitations of ML application in computer science education. The review indicated that machine learning offers enormous opportunities that could improve the quality of teaching and learning of Computer Science, particularly in the areas of development of intelligent tutoring systems and educational software/apps, monitoring student’s learning progress and prediction of their learning styles and outcomes, automated assessment and grading, customized lecture, student placement decision, teachers’ training, sentiment analysis, academic translations, detection and diagnostic supports for at-risk students. Also, it highlights several machine learning algorithms like; K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Naïve Bayes, Neural Network, Random Forest, Decision tree and many others that have prognostic capabilities that are of great interest to educators and are being used to advance teaching excellence and assist students and educators to access online education resources and improve their experiences. Thus, it concluded that machine learning is a promising pedagogical technology that can change the narratives in the education sector in no distant future both in terms of content development and delivery, mode of instruction, learning, feedback and evaluation pattern
Demand for and Supply of Teachers in Public Junior Secondary Schools in Kwara State
Teachers play indispensable and inevitable roles in the attainment of educational goals. The paper assessed the demand for and supply of teachers in public Junior Secondary schools in Kwara State, and concluded that the imbalances in the demand for and supply of Junior Secondary School teachers in Kwara State had resulted in over utilization of teachers, poor students’ academic performance and a high rate of examination malpractice among students and teachers. There was a yearly increase in teachers’ demand but it was not commensurate with the number of teachers supplied to the schools. Based on these facts, it was recommended, among others, that the teacher factor in terms of quantity in schools should be periodically evaluated by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The Kwara State Government through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) should endeavour to increase the supply of teachers in some core subjects

Planning Entrepreneurship Education for the Employability of Nigerian Youths
Education is a vital tool for national development. One of its aim is to raise self-reliant citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society. Due to the increase in the number of unemployed graduates, this assertion can be said to be farfetched. Unemployment is a major problem in our society, with the youths most hit by it. There is the need for the type of education that equips its products with relevant skills, knowledge, attitude and motivation to be able to face and address the raging problem of unemployment. This makes entrepreneurship education a needed tool to tackle the problem of unemployment. This paper looked at planning entrepreneurship education for the employability of Nigeria youths. A well planned entrepreneurship education from early days in the school system, integration of entrepreneurship education into the overall poverty strategy as well as coordinated policy support, and a periodic review of entrepreneurship education curriculum were some of the suggestions mentioned in this paper

Length of Service and Attrition Rate Among the Teaching Staff in Public and Private Nigerian Universities
The length of service based teaching staff attrition in South West Nigerian universities was looked at from 2014/2015 to 2018/2019 academic sessions, and variables such as academic qualification, academic discipline and gender were covered. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The study was a descriptive research that adopted the ex-post-facto research design. Seven universities (3 federal, 2 state and 2 private) formed the sample of the study that covered teaching staff from the categories of Assistant Lecturers to Professors in the schools of Humanities, Sciences and Engineering. A checklist was used for the data collection. The data collected from the sampled universities were analysed using rate statistic (Attrition rate). The findings revealed that the length of service produced varied rates of attrition along academic qualifications, academic disciplines and gender perspectives. Based on the findings, it was recommended that: policy and programmes for teaching staff retention which would address both the new and veteran teaching staff should evolve, retention strategies that would be academic qualification biased should be introduced to the school system, academic disciplines driven job resources that would encourage teaching staff retention should be provided and gender based retention policies should be formulated
