    Governance for Strategic Procurement: A Case Study in the Federal Prosecution Service

    Law N 14 133 2021 assigned senior management the responsibility of implementing a governance model for public procurement However recently introduced governance policies fail to provide clear guidelines to support the selection of procurement portfolios leaving this decision to the manager s discretion This article proposes a governance model tailored to the strategic procurement processes of the Federal Prosecution Service MPF aligned with the objectives of the bidding process as established by the legislation The study adopted applied nature and qualitative approach exploratory and descriptive objectives and was conducted as a single and holistic case study The analysis focused on governance of MPF procurement supported by a literature review on public governance and strategic procurement alongside the examination of institutional documents and archival records As a result an initial normative model was developed and evaluated by experts using the Delphi method The study s key contribution is the draft of a regulation to establish the Strategic Procurement Committee within the MPF introducing the Strategic Procurement Plan a multi-year tool This innovation applicable both to the MPF and the broader public administration fulfills the objectives of Article 11 of Law N 14 133 2021 by defining criteria to ensure the selection of proposals that deliver the most advantageous outcomes for the administratio

    This research examines the impact of television cartoons on the socialization of youngsters in metropolitan Bangladesh Grounded in Cultivation Theory Social Learning Theory and Reception Theory it investigates the impact of sustained exposure to foreign and Hindi-dubbed cartoons on language utilization behaviour cognition and health A mixed-methods approach was employed to collect data via questionnaires from 130 parents supplemented by qualitative case studies Research indicates elevated levels of daily cartoon consumption 76 15 predominantly through mobile devices resulting in bilingual language usage 56 15 character imitation 40 heightened aggressiveness 36 92 and health issues including fast food cravings and screen addiction Notwithstanding the acknowledgement of negative consequences just 29 of parents impose restrictions on viewing The research underscores an urgent necessity for age-appropriate programming organized media literacy initiatives and more parental engagement It enhances comprehension of how mediated messages influence early experiences and necessitates immediate policy and educational reforms in media-saturated environment

    This study examines the implementation of Human Resource HR practices and compliance with government laws and policies in the hotel industry of General Santos City Specifically it evaluates seven HR practice dimensions and three key areas of legal compliance across six Department of Tourism-accredited hotels Using a descriptive correlational research design data was collected from 200 respondents through validated questionnaires Results revealed that HR practices and compliance levels are generally very high with significant correlations found between HR practices and legal compliance The study highlights the importance of structured HR systems in promoting lawful productive and sustainable hotel operations Recommendations include enhancing employee benefits and succession planning and scaling best practices to other hotel establishment

    Purpose This study examines how delivery capability which encompasses technical expertise project governance and management practices and organizational agility influences the Public-Private Partnership PPP geothermal energy project completion outcomes in Kenya It is assumed that there is no PPP without either government support or private sector participation rather the issue of utmost research interest would be their effectiveness and or optimization The current research therefore aims to address critical knowledge and research gaps identified in existing literature regarding the operational determinants of PPP project completion in the renewable energy sector particularly geothermal in the Sub- Saharan Africa SSA region Case Study The geothermal industry in Kenya serves as a suitable choice for the case study since the country is globally recognized as a leading geothermal energy developer in Africa Also there is published literature on its geothermal evolution story traceable to the 1980s Research Philosophy Design and Methodology Relying on both the positivist and pragmatic research philosophies mixed methods were used to undertake a cross-sectional census survey of 48 PPP geothermal energy projects licensed in Kenya as of June 2023 A structured questionnaire was used to collect project data from project managers leaders working for both private and public sector developers Responses were measured using an Agree-Disagree A-D Likert scale across the main study themes A key informant interview guide was used to gather qualitative insights from relevant geothermal industry actors including government officials private investors development financing institutions civil society academic and other subject matter experts A pilot study was conducted on a PPP wind power project in Kenya Quantitative project completion metrics were analyzed along with qualitative insights to assess the relative influence of delivery capability on PPP financing structure and project completion A combination of tools was used to analyze descriptive inferential and qualitative data sets culminating in data triangulatio

    This study deals with the emotional and social outcomes brought upon individuals who consider themselves as temporally misaligned either behind or ahead of the prevalent cultural and ideological standards at that time Based on the cultural lag theory and existential psychology this study examines the influence of temporal dissonance on identity belonging and well-being The paper adopted a phenomenological research design in the form of in-depth semi-structured interviews with sixteen respondents divided into two groups those who consider themselves traditionalists and are finding it challenging to adjust to the changes of modern times and those who consider themselves visionaries and are getting upset about the pace of social change A thematic analysis unveiled these five major findings temporal alienation social misrecognition emotional burden tension in identity and coping mechanisms wherein different belief systems led to identical underlying experiences of psychic pain and marginalization Many also showed strength by creating different value systems and support groups These results suggest that time not being in line is a meaningful way of looking at who a person is and how they feel and it should be studied more in the fields of culture and psycholog
