Integración paisajística en la vía Portoviejo-Crucita
Get PDFGiven the lack of interest and an aggravating disqualification of the image, the need arises for integration in the design and visually comfortable spaces at the entrance to the city. For this, the objective of this article is the landscape integration of 7,8 km in the Portoviejo-Crucita Road, which allows to determine the types of landscapes, evaluate their visual quality, establish the level of prominence of the different mobilities and identify areas of intervention. The methodology used is based on the application of the Annual Average Daily Traffic (ADTT) and research techniques such as bibliographic review, surveys and observation files. From its application, it was possible to know that it is feasible to analyze, establish and integrate an architectural and landscape space in a single visual set. It is concluded that the notable lack of public spaces and community facilities in the development of urban-rural space contributes to make it impossible for citizens to meet, a space for socialization and collective appropriation.Ante la falta de interés y una agravante descualificación de imagen surge la necesidad de integración en el diseño y espacios visualmente confortables en el ingreso a la ciudad. Para esto, se traza como objetivo de este artículo la integración paisajística de 7,8 km en la vía Portoviejo-Crucita, la misma que permita determinar los tipos de paisajes, evaluar su calidad visual, establecer el nivel de protagonismo de las distintas movilidades e identificar áreas de intervención. La metodología empleada se basa en la aplicación del Tráfico Promedio Diario Anual (TPDA) y técnicas de investigación como la revisión bibliográfica, encuestas y fichas de observación. De su aplicación se pudo conocer que es factible analizar, establecer e integrar un espacio tanto arquitectónico como paisajístico en un solo conjunto visual. Confort higrotérmico en proyectos de viviendas unifamiliares en la ciudad de Portoviejo
Get PDFThe present investigation shows the results of the hygrothermal comfort analysis, in several single-family homes in the city of Portoviejo. As a general objective, the creation of thermal guidelines was established, which serve construction professionals as a project tool. To do it, evaluations were carried out, using typological files, applying the ASHRAE 55 sensitive scale, in addition to precise digital tools. Once the analysis was carried out, we got as results the ratings by means of the CBE thermal comfort software, the statistical data of the typological matrix applied in the living places, and the design of the thermal guidelines throughout the housing envelope (windows, walls, subfloor and deck). These procedures concluded in an important contribution to the thermal solution of these houses, in addition to the importance of applying bioclimatic techniques, suitable materials that provide thermal insulation and the correct orientation.La presente investigación muestra los resultados del análisis de confort higrotérmico en varias viviendas unifamiliares de la ciudad de Portoviejo. Como objetivo general, se estableció la creación de lineamientos térmicos, que sirvan a los profesionales de la construcción como herramienta proyectual. Para lograrlo, se realizaron evaluaciones, utilizando fichas tipológicas, aplicando la escala sensitiva ASHRAE 55, además de herramientas digitales precisas. Una vez realizados los análisis, se obtuvo como resultado las valoraciones mediante el software de confort térmico CBE, los datos estadísticos de la matriz tipológica aplicadas en las viviendas, y el diseño de los lineamientos térmicos en toda la envolvente de las viviendas (ventanas, paredes, contrapiso y cubierta). Estos procedimientos concluyeron en un aporte importante para la solución térmica de estas viviendas, además de la importancia en aplicar técnicas bioclimáticas, materiales propicios que brinden aislación térmica y la correcta orientación
Hymenocallis caribaea (L); una planta con potencial agroindustrial, medicinal y farmacológico
Get PDFHymenocallis caribaea L., commonly known as Lirio de San Juan, is a species of geophyte plant belonging to the family of amaryllidaceae, is distributed in Central America and in Cuba, and is also considered medicinal. Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate the acute toxicity dermal and oral aqueous and hydroalcoholic extracts from the leaves and bulbs of this plant, for their potential agro-industrial, medicinal and pharmacological use. For its scope, in vivo studies were used from Winstar rats, using a limit dose of 2000 mg/kg. The results indicated that there was a tendency to increase the weight of rats during the experiment, in addition there was no mortality or changes in behavior in animals, suggesting the absence of systemic toxic effects. Also, these results demonstrated the safety of this plant when applied acutely by the tested routes.Hymenocallis caribaea L., conocida comúnmente como Lirio de San Juan, es una especie de planta geófita perteneciente a la familia de las amarilidáceas, se encuentra distribuida en Centroamérica y en Cuba, además es considerada medicinal. Por lo anterior, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la toxicidad aguda dérmica y oral de los extractos acuosos e hidroalcohólicos a partir de las hojas y los bulbos de esta planta, para su potencial aprovechamiento agroindustrial, medicinal y farmacológico. Para su alcance se empleó estudios in vivo a partir de ratas Winstar, empleando dosis límite de 2000 mg/kg. Los resultados indicaron que existió una tendencia al incremento del peso de las ratas durante la experimentación, además no se observó mortalidad, ni cambios en la conducta en los animales, lo que sugiere la ausencia de efectos tóxicos sistémicos. Asimismo, estos resultados demostraron la inocuidad de esta planta cuando se aplica de forma aguda por las vías ensayadas
Revisión de la literatura sobre el uso de Inteligencia Artificial enfocada a la atención de la discapacidad visual
Get PDFThis paper performs a systematic literature review focused on the attention to visual impairment supported by artificial intelligence categorizing the relevance of contributions on machine learning. The main objective is to determine techniques that are applied for the attention to visual impairment using artificial intelligence during the years 2017 to 2021 from different relevant studies found in indexed bases such as Scopus, Web of Science, IEEExplore and Springer. From a total of 545 publications, 33 articles categorized in four areas, machine learning, artificial neural networks, natural language processing and artificial vision related to the field of visual impairment were determined. There is evidence of application trends with techniques that involve artificial intelligence and that allow opening fields where technology has a challenge that to some extent is a support to people with low vision and propose mechanisms to improve the quality of life.Este trabajo realiza una revisión sistemática de literatura centrada en la atención a la discapacidad visual apoyada por la inteligencia artificial categorizando la relevancia de aportaciones sobre machine learning. El objetivo principal es determinar técnicas que se aplican para la atención a la discapacidad visual mediante inteligencia artificial durante los años 2017 al 2021 de diferentes estudios relevantes hallados en bases indexadas como Scopus, Web of Science, IEEExplore y Springer. De un total de 545 publicaciones se determinaron 33 artículos categorizados en cuatro ámbitos, aprendizaje automático, redes neuronales artificiales, procesamiento de lenguaje natural y visión artificial relacionadas al ámbito de la discapacidad visual. Se evidencian tendencias de aplicación con técnicas que involucran a la inteligencia artificial y que permiten abrir campos donde la tecnología tiene un desafío que en cierta medida es un apoyo a las personas que presentan baja visión y plantean mecanismos para mejorar la calidad de vida

Uso de las aplicaciones de internet durante el primer año de la pandemia del COVID 19
Get PDFThis article studies the use of the Internet and the applications that have been most used during the first year of the COVID 19 pandemic in Ecuador. For this purpose, the public database of the National Institute of Statistics and Census of the National Multipurpose Household Survey 2020 was employed, using the section on information and communication technologies. The multivariate methods of factor analysis and principal component analysis (PCA) were applied. The identified components explain 83.3% of the total variance and the KMO test gave a value of 0.925 which means that the study is very good, Bartlett's test reported a significant value less than 0.05. It was obtained that the principal components that most influence the use of technology in times of pandemic are Social Networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Email, GPS and Downloads.En este artículo se realiza el estudio del uso de internet y de las aplicaciones que más se han utilizado durante el primer año de la pandemia del COVID 19 en Ecuador. Para el efecto, se utilizó la base de datos pública del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos sobre la encuesta nacional multipropósito de hogares 2020, usando la sección de tecnologías de la información y comunicación. Se aplicaron los métodos multivariantes del análisis factorial y el análisis de componentes principales (PCA). Los componentes identificados explican un 83,3% de la varianza total y el test de KMO dio un valor de 0,925 que significa que el estudio es muy bueno, la prueba de Bartlett reportó un valor significativo menor a 0,05. Se obtuvo que los componentes principales que más influyen en el uso de la tecnología en tiempos de pandemia son Redes Sociales, Wifi, Bluetooth, Correo Electrónico, GPS y Descarga
Casco inteligente de seguridad industrial para la prevención de accidentes y enfermedades ocupacionales
Get PDFIndustrial safety is relevant for companies due to the constant use of tools, machinery and equipment, creating a work environment full of risks and dangers for workers. For this reason, there are regulations that require the utilization of PPE such as the helmet that you use to accidents and occupational diseases. However, at present there is no technological solution in this area that provides information in real time to both the worker and the medical staff and the industrial safety department, and that alerts the worker without additional equipment or the need for specialized personnel in measurements environmental such as tunnels or mines. For this reason, this work proposes an intelligent safety helmet that could help reduce the accident rate of workers. The helmet uses electronic components as warning devices and analyzes harmful levels of gases, in order to prevent occupational diseases in the short and long term as a result of the activity carried out by workers.La seguridad industrial es un relevante para las empresas debido al uso contante de herramientas, maquinarias y equipos, creando un entorno de trabajo lleno de riesgos y peligros para los trabajadores. Por ello, hay normas que exigen la utilización de los EPI tales como el casco para prevenir accidentes y enfermedades ocupacionales. Sin embargo, en la actualidad no existe una solución tecnológica en este ámbito que proporcione en tiempo real información tanto al trabajador como al personal médico y al departamento de seguridad industrial, y que alerte al trabajador sin equipos adicionales o la necesidad de personal especializado en mediciones ambientales como túneles o minas. Por ello, en este trabajo se propone un casco de seguridad inteligente que podría ayudar a reducir el índice de accidentabilidad de los trabajadores. El casco utiliza componentes electrónicos como dispositivos de alerta y puede analizar niveles nocivos de gases, con el fin de prevenir enfermedades ocupacionales a corto y largo plazo a consecuencia de la actividad que realizan los trabajadores
Análisis del rendimiento de la paralelización del algoritmo Reed-Solomon
Get PDFDistributed storage systems allow to solve the strong demand of data storage required by today's society, this is because new challenges arise related to data recovery based on erasure code. This article presents the parallelization of the Reed-Solomon algorithm through threads. The evaluation was made in a BLADE system, the execution of the algorithm has been done in a configuration of 1, 2, 4 and 8 threads to check the behavior of the algorithm. Regarding the results, it was observed that the times required for processing the algorithms for both encoding and decoding are considerably reduced.Los sistemas de almacenamiento distribuido permiten resolver la fuerte demanda de almacenamiento de datos que requiere la sociedad actual. Es por ello que surgen nuevos retos relacionados con la recuperación de datos basada en código de borrado. En este artículo se presenta la paralelización del algoritmo Reed-Solomon a través de hilos. La evaluación se ha realizado en un sistema BLADE, la ejecución del algoritmo se ha realizado en una configuración de 1, 2, 4 y 8 hilos para comprobar el comportamiento del algoritmo. En cuanto a los resultados, se observa que se reducen considerablemente los tiempos requeridos para el procesamiento de los algoritmos tanto para codificación como para decodificación
Lineamientos para el diseño de aplicaciones de ingreso de texto para adultos mayores
Get PDFThe care and monitoring of the health of the elderly in order to increase life expectancy, their safety, make them self-sufficient, and improve their quality of life, have been the focus of many investigations that involve the use of the Internet of the Things or Internet of Things (IoT). Likewise, many of these systems, social networks and communication tools, are making it necessary for older people to be interested in the use of smartphones or Smartphones, which has inspired to carry out this work, whose objective is to determine the guidelines for the design of text entry applications for older adults.
Some works carried out by other authors were considered to obtain the guidelines used for the development of a prototype (called KeySenior) focused on the entry of text, applying the guidelines considered positive for our purpose. The prototype was tested through a user study with a very heterogeneous group of elderly people, from their socio-economic level, the frequency of use and type of mobile phone, to the pathologies they suffer from. They finally answered a questionnaire with the help of one of the researchers, who also took notes of the most important observations, to help to determine the degree of fulfillment of the objective of this work. Some of the guidelines implemented in KeySenior did not have the expected acceptance, however most of them had great acceptance.El cuidado y monitorización de la salud de las personas mayores con el fin de aumentar la esperanza de vida, su seguridad, lograr que sean autosuficientes, y mejorar su calidad de vida, han sido el foco de muchas investigaciones que involucran el uso de internet de las cosas o Internet of Things (IoT). Así mismo, mucho de estos sistemas, las redes sociales y herramientas de comunicación, están haciendo lo necesario para que las personas mayores se interesen en el uso de los teléfonos inteligentes o smartphones, lo que ha inspirado para la realización de este trabajo, cuyo objetivo es determinar los lineamientos para el diseño de aplicaciones de ingreso de texto para adultos mayores.
Se consideraron algunos trabajos realizados por otros autores para obtener los lineamientos usados para el desarrollo de un prototipo (denominado KeySenior) enfocado al ingreso de texto, aplicando los lineamientos considerados positivos para nuestro propósito. Se probó el prototipo mediante un estudio de usuarios con un grupo de personas mayores muy heterogéneo, desde su nivel socio-económico, la frecuencia de uso y tipo de teléfono móvil, hasta las patologías que padecen. Ellos al final contestaron un cuestionario con la ayuda de uno de los investigadores, quien también anotó las observaciones más importantes, para ayudar a determinar el grado de cumplimiento del objetivo de este trabajo. Algunos de los lineamientos implementados en keysenior no tuvieron la aceptación esperada; sin embargo, la mayoría de ellos tuvo gran aceptación
