Maulana Ghulam Qadir Girami (1856-1927A.D) contemporarypoet of Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a great and influencial poetwho had deep studies in Persian Literature. He vehemently admired Persian classical poets i.e Maulana, Hafiz, Jami, Saib Isphahani,Ghanimat Kunjahi and Ghalib Dehlavi etc.He wrote in his own style. Ever since the advent of British era and particularly from thebeginning of 20th century Urdu literature and literary criticismhave got their inspiration from the western theories of literature.It has been overlooked, rather forgotten that classical Urduliterature, like all developed classical literaturehave had its owntheories of literature and criticism which had explained thephenomena of literary and creative works and expressions.These were well developed and established theories whichprovided guidance to the poets and creative writers. In thispaper an effort has been made to reconstruct these theories andto explain them for the modern readers and researchers.
