Fatty acid composition, gramma-oryzanol of rice bran oil shortening and other shortenings and quality of their butter cream
The objectives of this study were to analyze and compare fatty acid composition, slip melting point and gamma-oryzanol content among rice bran oi
l shortening, palm shortening, and butter. Three formulas of butter cream were prepared, by varying type of fat at 25%. Then the sensory evaluation were assessed and the percentage difference in volume among the three formulas were measured by measuring the specific volume of butter cream made from rice bran oil shortening, palm shortening and butter blend. Saturated fatty acid, monounsaturated fatty acid, and polyunsaturated fatty acid contents were 35.43±0.03%, and 36.73±0.10%, 27.84±0.13% in rice bran oil shortening,
66.36±0.12%, 28.28±0.04%, 5.36±0.04% in palm shorte ning and 61.49±0.04%, 32.98±0.06%, 5.56±0.01% in butter blend respectively. Slip melti ng points of rice bran oil shortening, palm shortening and butter blend were 40oC, 44oC and 34oC, respectively. Gamma-oryzanol was only found in rice bran oil shortening. Overall sensory score by 5-point hedonic scale of butter cream made of rice
bran oil shortening was significantly higher than those made of palm shortening. The butter cream made of rice bran oil shortening was found to have
19.02% higher volume than palm shortening and 8.22% more in volume than butter blend

Isolation and characterization of Azospirillum associated with rice root
Azospirillum is consider to be plant-growth promoting bacteria (PGPR) associated with rice and stimulate plant growth by promoting nutrition by the process of biological nitrogen fixation. The aim of this study was to isolate and characterise of Azospirillum from root rice varieties. The morphology, physiology and biochemistry properties of the bacteria were tested. The result showed that the bacterial isolates of Azospirillum from three rice varieties; Khao Dawk Mali 105, Sew Mae Jan and RD 6 were Azospirillum brasilense and Azospirillum amazonense. The combined properties of the two species were discussed to be used for beneficial application of microbial fertilizer.

The specimens were planted twice for the morphological characters were found to be useful for identification within the specimens, namely the high of culm, the color of internode, the color of leaf sheath, the color of collar, the color of auricle, the color of ligule, the color of leaf blade, the type of secondary branching of panicles, the color of sterile lemma, the color of apiculus lemma and palea, the color of stigma, the color of grain, the shape of grain, the color of brown rice, and the shape of brown rice, And hull anatomical characters. Results showed that, The Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) was made using morphological and anatomical characteristics. Use of azolla in combination with tailor made fertilizer for cultivation of Phitsanulok 2 rice with less water system
The experiment was conducted by growing Phitsanulok 2 rice with appling azolla and tailormade fertilizer under less water in cement containers in a greenhouse. The experiment was a completely randomized design of 5 experiments and 3 replications. It was found that the plant growth rates per week were significantly different among treatments in weeks 6 and 7. Tillering was the highest when using only tailor-made fertilizer and followed by when using tailor-made fertilizer and azolla together. When using azolla and tailor-made fertilizer, the number of spikes, fresh and dry weight of straw, root length, fresh and dry weight of root and grains obtained were higher than those from other treatments. After the experiment, using azolla and tailor-made fertilizer together could increase the content of soil organic matter and pH; however, using only tailor-made fertilizer resulted in the lowest organic matter content and using only azolla tended to increase phosphorus in soil
The effects of silk protien solution on yield of upland rice at Phufa Pattana Center in Nan
Silk protein solution was sprayed on upland paddy fields of 23 farmers at Phufa Pattana Centre in Nan province to study its potential to increase the yield of rice. Untreated areas were included in each field for comparison. Standard procedures for proper rice growing were applied in all study areas, namely, addition of bio-fertilizer during land preparation and during the cultivation, weed control, etc. Number of tillers, number of plants per tiller, plant height, panicles’ length, number of branches per panicle, number of seeds per tiller, weight of 100 good seeds and grains’ weight per sq.m. were collected. Grain yields per rai were calculated and analyzed statistically between untreated areas and areas treated with silk protein solution. Data were obtained only from 17 farmers’ fields. It was found that silk protein solution increased grain yields significantly at p<0.05 by 8 – 146 percent, depending on individual farmer’s management. The yield of only one farmer’s field was found to
decrease by 10 percent
Factors affecting success for exporting Thai OKRA (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) in the world market
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) is the one of Thai vegetable major exports, and nearly 98 percent of fresh pod was exported to Japan. The objective of this research was to investigate factors affecting the success of the business by using modified Porter’s diamond model. Making use of a questionnaire with 33 samples of okra export companies obtained 86 variables could be explained the success of export revenue. The application of stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the
success of the export revenue was explained significantly factors including 1) the factor conditions, that was the proportion of Vocational Education officer or Bachelor Degree officer; 2) the demands condition, that ware the domestic consumer is expected in quality and service higher than consumers in other countries, the proportion of okra consumption in Japan and the proportion of okra consumption in Germany; 3) the related and supporting industries, they was the industrial manufacturing and packaging of okra in Thailand; and 4) the firm strategy, that were the proportion of okra export in unprocessed and the company has production standards to meet customer needs; 5) the chance, that was the policy in the field of health and environment such as the enforcement of GMP, HACCP and 6) the government, that was the exhibition both inside and outside the country.กระเจี๊ยบเขียวเป็นพืชผักส่งออกที่สำคัญของประเทศไทยชนิดหนึ่ง ซึ่งร้อยละ 98 ของผลผลิตฝักสดถูกส่งออกไปยังประเทศญี่ปุ่น การศึกษาครั้งนีมี้วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีผลกระทบต่อความสำเร็จในการส่งออกกระเจี๊ยบเขียวของไทยในตลาดโลกโดยใช้โมเดลเพชรตามทฤษฎีของพอร์ทเตอร์ นำมาพัฒนาตัวแปรในแบบสอบถามกับกลุ่มตัวอย่างบริษัทที่ดำเนินธุรกิจส่งออกกระเจี๊ยบเขียวจำนวน 33 รายจากบัญชีรายชื่อผู้ส่งออกของไทยจำแนกตามฮาร์โมไนซ์ทั้งสิ้น 40 ราย การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้เทคนิคการวิเคราะห์ความถดถอยเชิงพหุแบบขั้นตอนจากจำนวนปัจจัยทั้งหมดที่นำมาวิเคราะห์ 86 ตัวแปร เพื่ออธิบายความสำเร็จในการส่งออกกระเจี๊ยบเขียว (อัตราการเพิ่มสูงขึ้น

Effects of germination time and drying temperature on texture and quality of GABA rice
Germinated paddy (GP) has higher active components and better textural property than brown rice. Germination time and drying temperature are very important parameter to GP quality since the microstructure of starch granules is modified during germination and this might affect the drying characteristics and the dried GP quality. Therefore, the objective of this work was to study the effect of germination time and drying temperature on the changes in the drying kinetics and qualities of GP.
Experimental results showed that the extending germination time provided lower hardness of cooked GP and higher GABA content but did not affect the number of fissured kernels and the drying characteristics. The drying temperatures significantly affected the number of fissured kernels and the drying rate but insignificantly affected the GABA contentand the hardness of GP after cooking
