The purpose of this community service is to increase the capacity of mosque administrators in productive zakat management; provide entrepreneurship training to the community around the mosque and form a sustainable mosque-based economic empowerment model through collaboration between UPZ, the community, and universities. This training activity uses a participatory training approach through several training steps, namely: training, monitoring, and evaluation. Economic empowerment training based on the mosque through productive zakat management in Banyuputih Village has proven to have a significant impact on increasing the economic capacity of mustahik and strengthening the role of the mosque as a center for community empowerment. This model can be replicated in other mosques provided there is professional governance, continuous mentoring, and synergy between the mosque administrators, the community, and zakat institutions

Cash Flow Risk and Financial Balance: Evidence from Islamic Rural Banks in Indonesia

This study delves into the impact of funding liquidity risk (FLR) counting, including several bank-specific variables and the Coronavirus outbreak, on the balance of Islamic rural banks (IRBs) in Indonesia. Utilizing unbalanced quarterly panel data from 97 IRBs in Java from 2015 (Q1) to 2023 (Q4), the analysis is conducted using panel data regression. The results confirm that FLR significantly decreases bank stability. However, this negative influence was notably weakened during the COVID-19 Crisis. The analysis further reveals that the negative outcome of FLR on stability is more pronounced in smaller IRBs compared to their larger counterparts. Additionally, the findings show that while bank capital and operational efficiency enhance balance, factors such as larger bank size, high financing levels, and the pandemic period itself tend to reduce it. This research offers two key implications. Theoretically, it highlights how FLR can erode stability, a risk amplified when banks undertake high-risk investments. Practically, it underscores the critical need for especially the smaller IRBs to proactively manage asset-liability maturity mismatches to ensure financial stability

Against this backdrop, this paper studies the influence on Muslims in Yorubaland of Nigeria, with specific focus on religious polemics introduced by the advent of these movements in the region under study. Descriptive method of research was adopted. The study shows that though there are different transnational movements in Yorubaland, the most controversial and popular in contemporary time are the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafiyyah groups. The religious polemics evoked by the advent of the transnational Islamic movements in the region under study include the religious controversy between the traditional Muslims and adherents of these movements as well as the polemics that exist among the various movements against one another. The study recommends display of high level of ethics of disagreements among the traditional and the revivalist Muslims in Yorubaland as well as statutory regulation of religious practice by the concerned authorities in order to forestall the turning of religious polemics to physical crisis in the region

Formulation, Sensory, and Nutritional Characterization of Snack Bars Made from Moringa (Moringa oleifera) and Lumi-Lumi Fish (Harpodon nehereus)

Moringa oleifera leaves and Lumi-lumi (Harpodon nehereus) contain beneficial nutrients for the human body. The potential utilization of both materials as fortifying agents can improve the nutritional content of snack bars. This research aims to analyze the influence of moringa flour and lumi-lumi fish formulation on the sensory and chemical characteristics of snack bar products. The research design employed an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) involving three treatments: P1 (12 g moringa leaves + 30 g lumi-lumi), P2 (21 g + 30 g), and P3 (30 g + 30 g). Each treatment underwent proximate and organoleptic testing with 74 untrained panelists. The results showed significant differences in color and taste indicators between formulations (p-value <0.001 and 0.035), but no significant differences in aroma and texture (p-value 0.210 and 0.118). Formulation P1 was the most preferred by panelists. Its nutritional content includes 17.58% water, 2.78% ash, 22.18% fat, 2.83% protein, and 56.60% carbohydrates. In conclusion, snack bars made with a combination of moringa flour and lumi-lumi may serve as an acceptable alternative for meeting community macronutrient needs and support local food diversification

A Pragmatic Analysis of Women and Angry Speech: Case Study of The Saudi Arabian Takki Series

This study aims to reveal the forms of illocutionary acts and impoliteness strategies in anger utterances directed at women in the Saudi Arabian series Takki. In Arab culture, angry utterances are not merely emotional expressions but serve as tools for enforcing social norms and patriarchal control. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a pragmatic approach. The data, consisting of dialogue excerpts, were analyzed using Searle's speech act theory and Culpeper's theory of impoliteness. The results show that anger utterances in Takki are dominated by directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative acts, accompanied by impoliteness strategies, including insults, prohibitions, threats, and verbal abuse. These utterances reflect unequal power relations between men and women and reinforce patriarchal structures in Saudi society. This study confirms that language functions as a significant tool of social control in cultures where family honor is paramount. By uncovering the pragmatic mechanisms that sustain gendered communication hierarchies, this research contributes to the broader understanding of how linguistic behavior reinforces social ideologies within both pragmatic and sociocultural theoretical frameworks

One of the prolonged conflicts between Palestine and Israel has yet to find a solution. This study aims to explore Indonesian online media in framing news about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. It analyzes the factors that influence framing, public opinion, and foreign policy. This study uses qualitative research with a framing analysis approach. As for data collection techniques through observation, digital searches, news selection, and documentation. Data analysis uses Robert N. Entman's framing model, and data validity uses audit trails. The results show that Indonesian media frames the conflict with different emphases within a strong pro-Palestinian consensus. Kompas.com and CNBC Indonesia emphasize the cycle of structural violence, Liputan6.com focuses on the humanitarian tragedy, SINDOnews.com sees it as a geopolitical maneuver, and Metrotvnews.com sees it as a struggle for independence. Although varied, all media outlets show sympathy for Palestine with ambiguous diction for Hamas and encourage diplomatic solutions. This framing is shaped by a national consensus based on religious solidarity, anti-colonial identity, and alignment between public opinion, government policy, and media coverage. This study contributes to Islamic communication scholarship by showing how religious solidarity, justice, and anti-colonialism shape media framing and mediate the relationship between Muslim public opinion, state policy, and media discourse. ***** Salah satu konflik berkepanjangan antara Palestina dan Israel belum menemukan solusi. Tradition meets technology: The role of Artificial Intelligence in Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah’s digital adaptation

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the digital media landscape has generated a duality of concerns and hopes among religious organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah. On one hand, AI is perceived as potentially eroding humanistic values; on the other, it offers the promise of accelerating the dissemination of Islamic teachings through digital platforms. This study aims to examine the adaptation process of AI technology within the digital media ecosystems of both organizations and to identify the key enabling and inhibiting factors. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with selected informants and institutional document analysis. The study adopts Everett Rogers’ diffusion of innovation model, encompassing five stages: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. Findings reveal that NU has adopted AI through platforms such as Siskader, Kitab AI, Pandai AI, and sentiment analysis, while Muhammadiyah has developed Chat HPT, Goal Align Assessment, and AI-based customer service tools. These adaptations are driven by pressures to modernize, the need for a progressive organizational image, cadre openness to innovation, and user enthusiasm. Conversely, limited financial resources, insufficient computational capacity, and prolonged training durations are significant barriers. The study underscores the importance of a collaborative approach that integrates Islamic values with digital innovation strategies to enhance the da’wah capacity and organizational transformation in the age of artificial intelligence.
